Toys R Us is evil.

I get home today and I’m relaxing in front of the TV when the boyfriend says “Let’s go to Toys R Us. I want to look at the Transformers toys.” I reluctantly went with him and we ended up spending about an hour in there. (!!!) I was tempted by all the Harry Potter lego sets, the R2-D2 figurines, the Strawberry Shortcake dolls, the Gameboy games, the Trumpet-playing Cookie Monster (which I really wanted — I have to add to my collection!)… err, pretty much everything. That store is so EVIL. Rob somehow managed to get out of there without buying anything for himself but I left with 2 Care Bears. I got Grumpy Bear for myself and Share Bear for my cousin — I’m planning on giving it to her when she leaves for school in a few weeks. So I guess that justifies my purchase then — I bought a *gift.* Heh.

Rob and I finally got on board with the whole Netflix phenomenon (only after the closest Blockbuster Video to our apartment closed down) and we love it! I definitely recommend it — especially for people like us who always forget to return rentals on time and rack up insane late charges. So far, we’ve watched About A Boy (adorable movie!) and Wet Hot American Summer (funny stuff — Paul Rudd, Janeane Garofalo, David Hyde Pierce and Bradley Cooper are all great). Very very exciting.

Oh! I have a question — does anyone know how to disable direct linking? Inquiring minds want to know. 🙂

  3. Check your domain’s control panel. I had an option at my cpanel that allowed me to disable direct linking, while allowing certain sites to direct link (such as banner exchanges and forums that I posted at.)

  4. LOL! Toys R Us? That’s so cute. 😛 I don’t know if I would be tempted by toys. I think my weakness is music stores. Can never leave a music store without some CD or another.

    Oh, Cheer Bear is so my Care Bear. She was so pink. Hee.

    We might wanna think about getting the no direct-linking thing on Creekdaze, especially since Visions is there now and I think the reason the-creek.com went so far over its bandwidth limit was cuz this one German message board that Reen showed me was direct-linking all the wallpapers. UGH. At least link to the thumbnails! Stupid people.
