I’ve had a pretty uneventful weekend.
I’m not complaining though — I’ve been able to relax and catch up on some much-needed sleep. I love sleep. Let’s see, I spent the entire 4th of July inside my apartment. No joke. I didn’t even go out to watch fireworks. To make up for our laziness, my boyfriend and I paraded around our apartment wearing T-shirts with the good old US flag imprinted on them. Good stuff. I watched a lot of Real World: Paris though. This cast annoys me so. much. They have a great opportunity in their hands — they get to write for Frommer’s travel guide — yet they act so ungrateful when they have actual responsibilities. I mean, I would gladly live in Paris and write about the attractions, restaurants and shopping that I experienced while I was there. They’re so lucky to have a great job handed to them and they don’t even act like they appreciate it. Ugh. That bugs me.
Anyway, today I actually ventured into the outside world. Rob and I went to go see Legally Blonde 2, which was a really cheesy and corny movie but lots of fun. I didn’t like it as much as the first one — but I think that’s mostly because the first one was new and fresh while this one really felt like a sequel. Oh, but Luke Wilson looked really hot — yes, he did. 😛
My roommate’s mom is visiting for the weekend and she is totally spoiling us all. She’s been cooking all our meals and helping us clean the apartment. It’s really cute how parents get when they know you can take care of yourself — all of a sudden they want to be the ones to do everything for you, like they still want to be needed. It’s completely adorable. My dad acts the same way when I go home to visit him — we’ll go shopping and he’ll insist on buying me stuff even though he knows I make my own money now and can afford to buy things I need. It’s such a sweet gesture though and who am I to refuse? 😉
I’ve also just started watching Trading Spaces — you know, that show on TLC where people trade houses for 2 days and they redecorate a designated room with the help of professional designers. Well, my roommate Jimmy is addicted to this show and he watches it every time it’s on, which is like 99% of the day so by default, I’ve been watching it as well. I never realized just how interesting it is — sometimes it gives me ideas but most of the time, the things they do to the rooms seriously terrify me. There was one little boy’s room where the designer hung a trellice from the ceiling and attached Japanese lanterns to it — ugh! And another time, there was a guest room in which the designer was going for a garden theme and proceeded to install astroturf to the floor and surrounded the bed with a white picket fence. I kid you not. It was awful. I would be surprised if the owners didn’t immediately switch everything back to the original setup. Hee.
Umm, it’s about 3am now — where DOES the time GO?!? I suppose it’s time for bed. 🙂
Oh, I am so addicted to Trading Spaces. I liked the trellice & Japanese lanterns. 🙂
Aww too bad you didn’t like Legally Blonde 2 that much. I was really looking forward to it so it’s disappointing to read a bad review beforehand.
Oh, just saw the new layout over at Summer’s End. Love. It. Just gorgeous.
I can’t wait to see LB2!! Yummm … Luke Wilson …
And I am so ridiculously addicted to TS. My aunt is too. She tried to sign us up, but couldn’t because they don’t come to Canada. Boo. Have you seen the one where Hildi puts hay on the walls? That’s a personal favourite cringe moment.
Hello! I found your blog by some twisted route while searching for Sleeping Beauty fans. And I was pleased to see you share my other two favorite obsessions, Harry Potter, and MAC Cosmetics. Just about to go on a buying binge in NYC, actually.
At any rate. Just thought I’d let you know that I, of course, love your layout.
hey kel,
i’m cris from brazil. now you wonder what the heck is this girl doing here eh. well, i was looking for some dawson’s creek quotes and happened to find them here. hehe see you also love Dc eh. awesome!
i still gotta join your fanlist of dc blogs!
well, that’s all. see ya.
My friend watches TLC all the time so she’s got me watching it too. Have you ever watched A Makeover Story or A Dating Story? Those are two of my personal faves.
I kinda wanted to see Legally Blonde 2 but i’m not so sure now. I did see Charlie’s Angels 2 and even thought he was only in it for like 10 minutes, Luke Wilson looked very hot!
I also saw How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days last night. It was pretty cheesy but cute.
Trading Spaces is totally addicting. I’m getting ideas for my new house. Another one I found was Designers Cents on HGTV. They do a room for under $500. LOL
::squeals:: Luke Wilson is adorable! I went to see Charlie’s Angels 2 just to see his little 5 minute scene. 😀
uneventful weekend hhmm i think i had one of those as well. i ate junk and watching movies.. fun i think lol
Trading Spaces rules! I love it when the people don’t love it and they’re all like, "It’ll take some getting used to! *nervous chuckle*" HEH. Sometimes the results aren’t that great, yeah… but sometimes they’re gorgeous! People who go on that show really take a chance. I also love the Designer Guys, also on TLC. They are so awesome. 😀
BTW, love this cool HP layout, even though I’m not a big fan of HP. 😀
I was thinking the same exact thing about the Real World cast! You get to write about all these great places and live in Paris. Some people actually have to work their asses off to get a job like that! Pfft.
Ahhhhhhh more addicts to Trading Spaces. I love TLC network, like a Make-overstory, A wedding story, A dating story, Trading spaces and While you were out. LOL
Am gonna see LB2 this week, laughs are always good 🙂
