Canada Trip Report: Vancouver

A few weeks ago, my blog celebrated its 13th birthday on January 17th! Happy Birthday Blog!

So I’m finally getting around to finishing up this trip report from our time in Canada last year. Our final stop was Vancouver, which is my favorite travel destination. I just love this city!

We only had a couple of days in the city and luckily the weather was fantastic. I absolutely love this view of the harbour looking towards North Van.

It was a lovely morning to walk along the Coal Harbour Seawall.

We always enjoy watching the seaplanes land and take off in the harbour.

That’s us!

This was our fifth annual trip so we’ve seen most of the major touristy sights but there are a couple of new-ish attractions that we decided to check out…

We headed over to Canada Place to see FlyOver Canada, which is a flight simulation ride that takes you on a journey over Canada. If you’ve ever been on Soarin’ at Disney California Adventure in CA or Epcot in FL, then this experience is very similar. I enjoyed it but thought it was a tad too pricey (around $20 per person).

The Sea Vancouver adventure, on the other hand, was AMAZING. One of my favorite activities that we’ve done in the city by far.

It’s a 90 minute sightseeing adventure on an open-air, zodiac boat that starts at a leisurely pace in the inner harbour where you see this wonderful view of downtown, Canada Place and the Vancouver Lookout Tower.

Then the skipper speeds up the boat as you cross the Burrard Inlet and go underneath Lions Gate Bridge. It was exhilarating and so much fun!

You make your way around Stanley Park and over to English Bay and False Creek.

It’s a totally different perspective to see the sights from the water.

I absolutely loved it! Highly recommend this tour. I’d even do it again. 🙂

Can’t wait to see you again soon, Vancouver!

  2. Hi Shirls! Yes, we’re back! I’m going to start with a quick entry about Macau then I’ll launch into Japan. Long story short — we had so much fun! I want to go back to Japan again. 🙂
