Book Challenge update…

May
15. Boy Meets Girl by Meg Cabot, 387 p
Really cute chick-lit book. It was a little hard at first to get used to the way it was written — rather than a first person narrative, it was written through emails, memos, diary entries, etc. But I think the story made up for the novelty… Plus, I completely fell in love with the main character’s love interest, hee!
16. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares, 304 p
I was sucked in by those darn commercials for the movie that I kept seeing while watching Gilmore Girls. Loved all the characters (especially Carmen and Bridget) but thought that their summer stories were wrapped up a little too neatly. I’ll probably pick up the second book out of curiosity. And possibly watch the movie too. 😛

Next up is Memoirs of a Geisha recommended to me by Barry. 🙂

  1. Hi Kel,
I dunno if “Me Talk Pretty One Day” by David Sedaris is on your list, but if not, you should check it out. I just finished it. It’s a quick read, but pretty witty & entertaining. You might like it.
Anywho, see you in a couple of weeks 🙂

  2. Those commercials for Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants made me read the book. There needed to be some more at the end for all their stories, they ended too perfectly.
The font you asked me about on my header, it’s called Will & Grace and DaFont has it.

  3. Hey Kel, completely random question for you. I think I remember you saying awhile ago that you use a program or script or something to rename your caps for High Anxiety. Is that correct? If so, what is it called? I am making caps for L/P (Holli is reopening lucasandpeyton.com – woohoo!) and I need to rename them. Thanks!

  4. OMG! I’ve read all 3 of the Sisterhood books and I loved them all! I suggest you read all of them before seeing the movie, but I don’t know if time permits, but you should definitely read them all. I’m seeing the movie tonight, can’t wait 🙂

  5. You’re going to love Memoirs… Let me know your thoughts when you’re done reading it. I can’t wait for the movie to come out. Hopefully it will be as enjoyable as the book. I don’t know if I recommended The Kite Runner before to you, but that is an awesome book as well.

  6. I just can’t get into the Meg Cabot books written in email/IM format. It just bugs me for some reason.
As for the sisterhood, those storylines do continue into the next two books, just so you know. Yes, there is some wrapping up in the first book, but it becomes expanded in the second and third stories.
