What happened to my favorite show?!?
I hate that the DC writers have had so many opportunities to take these characters into new and fresh directions but instead they waste potential and recycle tired storylines. It’s exasperating, really.
Pacey and Audrey – Were cute but not anymore. Can they please do something else besides have sex? And can someone explain to me why Joey (Joey! the same girl who had a long, intense and romantic relationship with Pacey last season) can be so indifferent towards all the groping and kissing that P/A do in front of her? I mean, ugh. You’d think that the three of them would be a *little* uncomfortable in that situation.
Pacey and Joey – Of course, the one scene these two had together had to be ruined when Joey said that if she wanted to, she could break Charlie’s heart into a million pieces. I just, I don’t know, found that to be in bad taste, especially since she said it to Pacey.
Dawson and Jen – Now *this* is the wasted potential that I’m talking about. These two could have been great — but they ended before they really got a chance to become something. And after witnessing several loving scenes between these two, the writers want me to believe that they had no passion?!? That it was all about comfort sex?!? It’s just lazy writing! Or maybe it’s just the build up towards Dawson and Joey getting back together at the end of the season. Blah blah. (That’s not a spoiler — that’s my speculation).
But really, the thing that incenses (is that too harsh?) me the most is Joey and Charlie. The whole “Joey can change him but Jen can’t” storyline. It’s all Joey, all the time.
The one thing I did like about “Highway to Hell” was that Jack and Jen seem to be getting their friendship back on track. I love these two together — more!
Ok, I know you’re reading this and thinking, “Wow, Kel is really insane. Or obsessed. Probably both.” I know. lol. DC brings out those qualities in me. 😉
yes it brings out the same qualities in me …. but i really like this season, i love the whole college thing. but okay thats just me. I do want pacey and joey together, those writers should listen to us, they always say they listen to the vieuwers, but honestly, then they should have been together again years ago. feck the whole dawson/joey thing they are doomed to be friends
Kel, now you see why I’m so desperate for some old DC eps. The show now is irrational, out of continuity, all the characters are OOC, and just overall not worth watching anymore. Alert me when Pacey and Joey start getting back together, hehe. Back together…They went out?! You wouldn’t know it by watching…
Argh… Kel I know how you feel! I was sooo annoyed watching DC yesterday… Does anyone actually buy this whole Pacey/Audrey thing?? And what have the writers done to Pacey??? All he does is kiss and grope Audrey now, and we’re supposed to believe that this is the same guy that bought a wall, named a boat, etc. for JOEY. Grrrr… What happened to “I remember everything”? *sigh* It’s like we’re supposed to forget the last 2 seasons… And as for Charlie… His banter with Joey reminded me too much of Trory banter on GG, and thus reminded me of how much he belongs on GG rather than DC…
Awww, sorry for that big rant, but I just can’t believe how bad DC has become…
I like Dawson’s Creek too! But Sex & The City is definitely my fave tv-show!

whoa, all that DC info just flew over my head – I was addicted to S1, then I stopped after it changed its time slot (note I don’t have the WB, DC sort of floats around on global, a canadian tv network) Anyways, interesting speculations, I don’t particularly like Dawson/Joey though – like I said before I’m a hardcore P/J shipper. Yeah Joey can get annoying, she’s the sickeningly sweet do-gooder on the show. Anyways I’m very excited about starting the group blog – I have to wait till Amy gets back to me though. the whole pacey & audrey thing was kinda cute @ the beginning but now its all wam bam thank you ma’m …maybe they’ll simmer down soon. Ofcourse Joey & Dawson belong together… but the writers will probably never put them back together just to piss us watchers off.
I don’t watch DC, but the way you describe it…I miss season one. Charlie doesn’t belong on DC. Sob. Go back to Gilmore Girls. Errr…yes. Anyway, I think that the characterization of the DC characters are way off these days.
Damn Kel, I liked yesterday’s episode. Actually, I liked the music part mostly, and Chad Michael Murray. Heh. But Dawson and Jen could have been great together, I got confused at the end. I was actually starting to LIKE Dawson, but its not really his fault Jen wants out. Hmm… but I still DO want Pacey and Joey together. *sniff sniff*
I agree totally. I can barely stand to watch Dawson’s creek anymore, and don’t get me started on Felicity.
