So I did end up buying my Harry Potter book at the midnight release. I just could *not* wait until the morning to get my hands on the book. I restrained myself from attending the actual party which started at 10pm — only because I took pity on the poor kids. I’m sure that I would have destroyed all of them in the Harry Potter trivia and I didn’t want to have that on my conscience. Heh. Anyway, I showed up around 11:30 and omg, I just about had a heart attack. There were so many people!!! All I could think was “Damn it! How long is it going to take for me to get my book?” I got in line to get my ticket and to my horror, I was number 500-something! I seriously had no clue this many people even lived in Emeryville. I ended up waiting about 2 and a half hours but I found myself being entertained by hilarious adults decked out in entire wizard outfits, the little kids running around pretending to cast spells on people, and even the completely stressed out Borders employees.
I got home at around 2am and I was so incredibly tired but I just *had* to start reading — I only read about 6 chapters or so and finally gave in to sleep. I have since finished the book and I think it’s fabulous. There’s just so much more tension and anger in this installment and that made it all the more exciting for me to read. My thoughts are much too incoherent and mixed-up to write a real review but I just have to say that Harry needs a huge hug immediately. And I’d like to be the one to give it to him. Heh. I’m kidding. Really.
Hmmm… just finished watching that show Driven on VH1 — they featured Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. For some strange reason, I am oddly fascinated by them. I mean, these two are only 17 and they’ve built an entire brand. That is just so amazing to me. Who knew the annoying little girls who played Michelle on Full House would be billionaires before their 18th birthday? Can you tell I really have absolutely nothing else to blog about? Can you?
hmm–that layout looks awfully familiar;) hehe. i heart it so it works:) ::applauds:: finishing hp already–quite an accomplishment. i don’t want to read it too fast because it is probably going to be anothyer 3 years before the next one. and i’ll admit it–i watched the driven episode last nite too. 😀
I agree with the Mary Kate and Ashley thing. I never really liked them on Full House but now I think their career is really fascinating 🙂
Wow, Kel, I was watching that same exact Driven show too! Though probably three hours before you, since I’m in FL and all. I can totally relate to your HP midnight party experience; that’s how I was feeling. But some of the fans out there are REALLY amusing. Plus, I was like a guide to a lot of people because everyone kept asking me questions about where the line was and how exactly we were going to get our books. I just eavesdropped on the employees talking, and suddenly, I was being bombarded by people with inquiries! Sheesh. As for the book content–I was kinda disappointed, but if you really wanna read my series of mini-reviews, check out my LJ.
Woah, i can’t believe you’ve finished HP already! I’m only on about chapter 5. But i’m sick so today there will be alot of Harry Potter reading and Dawson’s Creek DVD watching (i finally bought the Season 1 DVDs!)
Speaking about Mary-Kate and Ashley, i watched a Full House all day marathon yesterday. I only watched about 4 episodes though, but it was still good fun.
Heh…i’m with you on the Mary Kate and Ashley. I remember watching a 48hrs/60mintues thing on them not too long ago. It’s astounding that they made half of their fortune making crappy kiddie sleuth videos 😉
About the blogging, I think everyone’s going through a drought 😉
I haven’t got HP yet. It’s driving me crazy. My mother told me I am forbidden from buying it (which means she bought it for me for my birthday. But my birthday isn’t until Thursday!) I’m going insane not reading it. Must have HP.
LOL Kel you are so cute with the HPness.
*hugs Kel* I’ve missed ya too, hun! Been so busy lately… haven’t had the chance to get online to keep up with everyone. Hope you’re well! Enjoy the HP book. 😉
MK&A fascinate me, too. You’re not alone. I mean, it’s amazing how much money they rack up in an average day. Apparently, kids dig them.
I agree, *nods, those two twins are rich! I mean how did they do it? I guess you have to have connections. I wish my parents had enough money to put me on tv auditions when I was small, or something, piano lessons? LOL. They are definately important people, and they are so young. I almost feel ashamed, but I didn’t many doors to me when I was young.
I watched part of Driven, too. I’m 21 and I felt like I haven’t accomplished anything compared to those two…I mean billionaires?
And Creekdaze looks wonderful. I really liked that layout when it was here at the blog. Lovely! 😉
Finally, I’m not the only geek whose finished HP5 so far. I don’t wanna give anything away to people who haven’t read it yet, but were you completely confused by the end? Maybe it was my complete lack of sleep by then (I stayed up 19 hours reading the thing). But still..
Oh and I saw the MK & A thing on but I clicked pass it.
