A couple of weeks ago the Fall TV Preview issue of Entertainment Weekly arrived in my mailbox. My TV bible! It’s my favorite issue of the year. And look who’s on the cover?!? JOSH JACKSON. Love him.
Here’s what I have planned this year…
MONDAYS:
One Tree Hill @ 8pm (CW) – Yes, this show is still on. And yes, I still watch it. I missed the middle part of last season but it was easy to catch up. I definitely miss Peyton and Lucas (I might be their only fan) but the additions of Clay and Julian definitely make up for their absence, lol. So far, I love Brooke and Julian but I’m not crazy about Nathan’s storyline right now (too much of a Haley fan) and don’t even get me started on Dan and Rachel (!!!). WTF.
Gossip Girl @ 9pm (CW) – SQUEE!!! Chuck and Blair. Aww, I just love them. Serena and Carter are VERY intriguing to me. Nate bores me to tears. I don’t know if JoAnna Garcia (who I love!) can save his storyline for me. And Vanessa continues to annoy.
Big Bang Theory @ 9:30pm (CBS) – I’ve watched maybe 2 full episodes of this show but Sarah raves about it so much that I think I’m going to check it out. 😀 I need some comedy on my TV schedule!
CSI: Miami @ 10pm (CBS) – Easy to watch. Doesn’t matter if I miss an episode.
I’m dropping Heroes this year. I adored the show in its first season but the past 2 seasons have been total clunkers. Sorry.
TUESDAYS:
So You Think You Can Dance (performance show) @ 8pm (FOX)
… and that’s it for Tuesday! I gave up on 90210 mid-way through last season (in large part because I don’t find the lead characters sympathetic or relatable AT ALL). It’s too bad because I really wanted to like this show. You know, the nostalgia factor and all. Oh, I *might* check out the new Melrose Place if I can. I downloaded the pilot when it was free on iTunes. Not sure when I can watch it.
WEDNESDAYS:
So You Think You Can Dance (results show) @ 8pm (FOX)
Glee @ 9pm (FOX) – This is officially my absolute favorite new show. It not only makes me incredibly happy but it’s GOOD! The characters have depth, the dialogue is witty, and the music is just icing on the cake. I’m so excited that it was picked up for a full season. Yay FOX!
Cougar Town @ 9:30pm (ABC)
Eastwick @ 10pm (ABC)
I’m only checking out the last 2 because I enjoy the actresses on these shows — Courteney Cox & Busy Phillips on Cougar Town and Rebecca Romijn & Lindsay Price on Eastwick. I’m crossing my fingers that they’ll be good.
THURSDAYS:
Thursdays are CRAZY, as per usual. It looks like I’m going to be doing A LOT of Tivo-ing. Yay?
Flash Forward @ 8pm (ABC) – Looks interesting. And has John Cho!
Bones @ 8pm (FOX) – I DO NOT need another show to watch but Rob and I watched the reruns on TNT this summer and ended up catching up on all 4 seasons. What can I say? It’s an addicting show! And I just love David Boreanaz as Booth.
Vampire Diaries @ 8pm (CW) – I wasn’t going to watch this show but it’s getting good reviews from the girls I follow on LiveJournal so WTH. I’m already behind 2 episodes though, LOL.
Grey’s Anatomy @ 9pm (ABC) – I almost dropped the show last season but the final episodes reeled me back in.
Fringe @ 9pm (FOX) – Like Grey’s, Fringe really hit its stride towards the end of last season. Plus, more Pacey!
Supernatural @ 9pm (CW)
CSI @ 9pm (CBS)
FRIDAYS:
Smallville @ 8pm (CW)
Nothing on Sundays this year because I stopped watching Brothers and Sisters. As much as I love Emily VanCamp, she couldn’t keep me from getting bored with all the Walker antics. :/
I guess I’ll be spending my weekends catching up with my Thursday shows. Hee.
you don’t just need more comedies, you need more channels…are you even in the CW demographic anymore?? 😉
how i met your mother is so funny…c’mon, it has dr. horrible! the office? c’mon!! 30 rock?? i know rob would totally like these shows…leah and i also totally like monk and psyche. although w/baby, we hardly get to watch a show from start to finish.
Shameless plug for 90210. They have a new showrunner this year – a woman who wrote for Freaks and Geeks, Buffy, and Gilmore Girls… so I’m told it’s going to get better! Haha. 🙂
I actually don’t blame you for dropping Heroes. I just watched the premiere, and…ZZZ…ZZZ…Talk about a BORING and UNEVENTFUL 2 hours! It was actually really hard to get thru! Don’t know WHAT they’re doing so far…I’m really hoping it’ll pick up next week.
I have a hard time just STOPPING watching shows that I’ve been watching since the beginning…It’s like I HAVE to see it to the end. 🙂 EXCEPT for 90210. I watched the premiere, and it was OK. Still debating about it, but I don’t really feel the withdrawal, so…what’s funny is that a lot of the reviews are saying this season is better than the 1st. Hmm…
I agree with RL…Watch How I Met Your Mother! It’s FUNNY! Not that you don’t have enough on Thursdays, but The Office too! Good stuff. Oh, and can I make a recommendation for a new comedy? MODERN FAMILY starts tonight on ABC…I’ve been WAITING for that one. It looks so funny! Have you seen the commercials for it?
I agree with you…GLEE is the BEST new show! LOVE IT!
Aww…you don’t watch Bros & Sisters anymore?! It’s one of my favorites! I think the actors on that show are just awesome. Plus I love all the family stuff…the whole siblings thing, etc.
I’m so glad you watch Smallville…I have someone I can “discuss” with. You’re only like 1 of 2 people I know who actually still watches it!
bones is a good show…not enough people watch it…i don’t know about fringe even with spock…pacey does nothing on that show…it’s all denethor, steward of gondor…house got too crazy, so i stopped watching…30 rock and how i met your mother are good, but i stopped watching sitcoms…only one i watch is family guy…dexter starts again this weekend…might watch smallville since it’s supposed to be better this season…they built up the doomsday story up so much but ended so crappily…can’t believe it’s still on…what about dollhouse?…the unaired episode with felicia day was the best one of the season…stupid fox tv…always jacking whedon…firefly is still better than 99% of the crap that is still on tv…
Big Bang Theory kicks ass! Rock, paper, scissors, lizard, Spock.
