back to the daily grind

So it’s my first day back to work and I’m there until 8pm. !!! DIE DIE DIE. I’m still jet-lagged and all I wanted to do was go home and rest and watch 24. Is this too much to ask?

Anyway, I’m trying to catch up on all the pop culture gossip/TV spoilers/fandom fun that happened while I’ve been gone and WOW… lots of stuff. Little Miss Joey Potter (Katie Holmes) has gotten herself engaged. Aww. Don’t really have much of an opinion on Chris Klein but I think they make an adorable couple. Both beautiful and all that. And hee! I have to admit, I’m a huge fan of Britney Spears but seriously, what is wrong with her?!? Getting married? And it was a practical joke? Eeep.

Speaking of Britney, Rob and I are *pissed* that we didn’t get tickets to her upcoming tour. We both thought the tickets were going to be sold a bit later than they were so we missed it! Grrr. I was really looking forward to it. :D

A little 2003 survey that I thieved from Christie:

FIVE GOOD THINGS THAT HAPPENED IN 2003
1. Pacey and Joey forever! (Hehe… I obviously have my priorities straight.)
2. I finally landed a job that actually matches my career goals.
3. I paid off a credit card. (Amazing since I have a knack for impulse shopping.)
4. I visited Thailand. LOVED it. Would love to go back.
5. I found a new couple to ship — Nathan and Haley from One Tree Hill.

FIVE MOVIES I REALLY ENJOYED IN 2003
1. Return of the King
2. Elf
3. Love, Actually
4. Finding Nemo
5. Pirates of the Caribbean

FIVE BOOKS I READ IN 2003 (AND SUGGEST YOU READ, TOO)
1. The DaVinci Code — Dan Brown
2. The Order of the Phoenix — J.K. Rowling
3. Lucky — Alice Sebold
4. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe — C.S. Lewis
5. Second Helpings — Megan McAfferty

FIVE TELEVISION SHOWS I WATCHED ON A REGULAR BASIS IN 2003
1. Dawson’s Creek (until its end *sniff*)
2. Buffy the Vampire Slayer (again until its end — 2003 saw the departure of my 2 most favorite shows)
3. Everwood
4. Smallville
5. The O.C.

FIVE THINGS I’M ASHAMED TO HAVE BECOME ADDICTED TO IN 2003
1. MAC Cosmetics (Seriously. This is like a smoking addiction for me.)
2. Lord of the Rings (My boyfriend and I watch our DVDs practically every day.)
3. Those crazy MTV reality shows — Rich Girls, Newlyweds, RW/RR Challenge. Gah.
4. Those “tweens” — Hilary, Amanda, the Olsen twins. (At least reading everyone’s answers, I don’t feel so alone in this weird addiction).
5. Fanlistings. I have 6! That’s a lot for me. And I have 1 that I still need to build.

FIVE SONGS THAT REMAINED ON MY PLAYLIST IN 2003
1. “Bigger Than My Body” — John Mayer
2. “Where is the Love?” — Black Eyed Peas
3. “Hands Down” — Dashboard Confessional
4. “This Year’s Love” — David Gray
5. “Unwell” — Matchbox 20

Hmm… I still have to take down the Christmas tree. I’m so lazy. *g*

  • The Britanny marriage thing! Gah, I thought the same thing!

I’ve been meaning to read Lucky and The DaVinci Code too, but haven’t gotten around to them yet.

I’m with you #3 for your playlist. I’ve been listening to "Hands Down" non-stop lately. Loving the song.
