the LA on the OC

So my American Idol predictions were a *little* off. 2 out of 3 isn’t bad, right? 😉 I didn’t particularly enjoy Matt so I can’t say I’m sad he’s gone. I just hope that the contestants improve next week — I don’t think I can take any more subpar performances.

Anyway, I don’t know if I was just blinded because I missed the show but I totally enjoyed tonight’s episode of The O.C.. Not much depth but still a lot of fun. And it’s cool to see that the show has no qualms about making fun of itself. I loved all the references to The Valley, the Seth/Summer jealousy (aww, they’re so cute!) and all the Sandy/Jimmy restaurant stuff. The only thing that marred the episode for me was the return of Hailey. Blah.

Some of my favorite quotes…
Sandy: “You’re really not so good at managing the money, huh Coop?”

Kirsten: “I knew you didn’t go to the IMAX.”

Marissa: “Okay, you’re starting to sound like Seth.”
Ryan: “Yeah, he’s rubbing off on me.”

Ryan: “How does he play high school?”
Seth: “Its Hollywood, man.”

Paris Hilton: “Orange County? Ew!”
Summer: “She said Ew!”

Grady: “Why? I’m not in this scene.”

Seth: “I heard some really, really awful music and I knew it could only be self-indulgent actors with instruments.”

Seth: “Or you could be the Bitch.”
Summer: “All right, I’ll take the Boobs.”
Seth: “So will I.”

And my MOST favorite quote…
Summer: “He saved Middle Earth. It’s, like, the most important part of European history.” HEE!

I can’t decide if next week’s episode looks good or bad. Huh.

  1. It was nice to see Colin again (haven’t seen him since the film of the same name – not his most shining accomplishment) but he really needs to cut his hair! I liked all the self-referential jokes too, but then I am a child of the DC era, lol.

  2. I don’t watch American Idol because I just can’t stand Simon, but for some weird reason, I saw the very, very tail end of it and saw that guy singing. What’s with the country theme? I don’t think I get the whole process of the show. Hee!

*sniff* Now all my local peeps were kicked off last night. Oh, well. Even more reason to not watch.

*pssst* Kel should sneak down to SoCal and visit me and play! You saw my itinerary for my trip, you gotsta go! haha!

  3. Squee! I loved the O.C. too last night, though I think it was just my sheer desperation for some new primetime T.V.! 🙂 Oh the end of sweeps, how I loathe thee.

Hee– the Summer quote about Legolas! 🙂

Next week, I have decided is not going to be a good ep. Marissa in Chino ::rolls eyes:: and the whole Eddie/Ryan/Theresa/Marissa love square was not my favorite storyline. :/

  4. Kel, I loved The OC last night too, especially Kirsten’s line about the IMAX. haha. But poor poor Luke, I got a little too attached to Mrs. Robinson.

  5. I was flipping channels last night and I flipped to The O.C. right as Summer said the Legolas bit and it totally cracked me up!

  6. I’m watching American Idol as well here in Ireland & I thought we were months behind it as we tend to be with nearly everything but turns out we are only like a few days behind America with the show & I think this one is better then the uk one 🙂
