sooo bored

It was definitely a horrible way to start my day by turning on the TV and seeing all the images and the press coverage of the Columbia tragedy. I want to extend my sympathy to the families of those who died. They will all be in my thoughts and prayers.

*sigh* So… even though it’s Saturday, I’m gonna do the Friday Five

As a child, who was your favorite superhero/heroine? Why? I really loved She-Ra, Princess of Power! She rocked. And she had a cool castle too.

What was one thing you always wanted as a child but never got? Hmm… I have to admit that I was pretty spoiled as a child… you know, that whole only child thing. But I did want one of those Easy Bake ovens, hee.

What’s the furthest from home you’ve been? The furthest I’ve been from home is probably going to the Philippines or to Hong Kong. I’m not exactly sure which one is farther. The plane ride is about 14-15 hours long. It’s pretty horrifying because I can’t stand airplane bathrooms. *shudders*

What’s one thing you’ve always wanted to learn but haven’t yet? Uhhh… learn to cook? lol. As my boyfriend can attest to, my cooking skills are pretty much non-existent.

What are your plans for the weekend? Not much — just relaxing before my first day of work on Monday!

OMG! Sometimes I can’t believe my extreme lack of self-control! I went over to Alias Media and looked at the screen caps and watched the clips for tomorrow’s episode. *shakes head*

clear channel

Aww, thanks for the congrats everyone! *blushes*

I’m really really happy to be working (and making money!) again. It’s been a whole month since my last day at my old job and sitting at home every day just doesn’t have the same novelty now that it did back in late December. Watching old videos and sleeping late, as unbelievable as it may sound, got a bit tired.

So… for the past 3 weeks, I’ve been searching job listings and writing cover letters like a madwoman because the thought of having no money to pay for rent(!) started to freak me out a little. BUT I didn’t want to settle for any old job, you know? I mean, that was the very reason why I quit my last one — I was sick of the work that wasn’t going anywhere in an industry that I had no desire to pursue a career in. So I told myself to take as long as I needed to find a job that I was happy with — can you imagine how psyched I was that it only took me a month? 🙂

Anyway, I’m going to be working at Clear Channel Communications as an assistant in their advertising department — I’m very excited! I really finally feel, for the first time since graduating from college, that I’m on a real career path and it feels really good. 🙂

Sorry for being all schmoopy but I’m just so excited.

OMG!!! Did anyone see the promo for next week’s episode of Dawson’s Creek? It made me all sad — the announcer said something like “Countdown to Goodbye — 10 all new episodes — The End of an Era.” Waaah! I’ve watched DC since Jan 98 and as dumb as it may sound, it helped me get through my college years. It was like a really good friend that I could count on every week. Or something like that. I know that the quality of the show has steadily declined since the first season and it should end before it gets any worse but I’m still really gonna miss it.

mike erwin

After watching a fantastic Everwood tonight, I have a new fan!girl crush on Mike Erwin. *sigh*

As for the episode, it pained me to see Colin (Mike Erwin!) deal with the frustrations of not being able to remember names and places of his past — his sadness and anger definitely came through. I’m glad that he’s trying to develop a friendship with Ephram. But I’m scared to think of what will happen when Colin finds out that there’s more to Amy and Ephram’s relationship than they’re letting on. Speaking of Amy, I found her to be much more of a sympathetic character today — I really felt for her when she was standing all alone during the Homecoming announcement. It was like a manifestation of her current relationship with Colin — even though he’s back, she’s still all alone. Bright really saved the day for Amy when he walked her through the ceremony though. Very cute. Didn’t much like Carl. Nina deserves much better. I can’t tell if he means well or if he has some sort of secret. Hmmm. Much to ponder.

omg! alias!

I have no words for tonight’s episode of Alias. WOW. I’m still in total shock. Eeeee! Ahem… I think I might just have to start reading spoilers for this show because I seriously can’t survive not knowing what’s going to happen. If anyone knows a good spoiler board, let me know! 😛

Hmm… so I watched the Super Bowl — and I have 2 new favorite commercials (see, I really do watch the SB for the commercials)!

1. The VISA check card commercial with Yao Ming (the Houston Rockets basketball player). I loved how everyone was like “Yo!” and he kept saying “Yao!” heh.

2. Another Yao Ming commercial. This time for Apple. It was so cute how he was sitting next to Verne Troyer (Mini-Me from Austin Powers) and he had the smaller 12in. laptop while Verne had the bigger 17in. laptop. Fun fun.

Ooo-kay, then… I will answer the Seven on Sunday.

Seven Things That Never Fail to Cheer You Up
1. watching classic Pacey and Joey episodes of DC
2. desserts — strawberry pie, pistachio almond ice cream, brownies…
3. receiving a compliment
4. having a good conversation with friends
5. redesigning my site
6. going shopping 🙂
7. re-reading my Harry Potter books

real world/road rules

For some reason, I’ve become really into Real World and Road Rules again — my obsession goes through phases, I guess. Sometims I love certain seasons (namely RW Hawaii and New Orleans) and then other times, I’m completely indifferent (RW Chicago and RR The Quest). But right now, with the crazy cast of Las Vegas and the hilarious antics of the Battle of the Sexes, I have become obsessed again. I’ll even watch the ten million reruns that MTV shows of each episode. *shakes head* But what I’ve found to be really interesting after watching the new Battle of the Sexes episodes, is to read the recaps done by three cast members: Colin from RW 8 Hawaii, Melissa from RW 9 New Orleans, and Lori from RW 10 New York. The 3 of them put up their recaps after a new episode airs on Monday nights. They shed a lot of light about the editing and stuff that happens behind the scenes. They’re all pretty interesting reads — like in Melissa’s blog, she mentions that Jon Murray (one of the creators) thanked her for the fight she had with Julie in the first episode. That’s just weird.

Anyway… time for the Friday Five:

What is one thing you don’t like about your body? I’m too short. I’m like 5 ft. 2 in. or something. I hate it mostly because when I buy pants, I always have to have them hemmed. What a pain.

What are two things you love about your body? Uhhh, I don’t really love anything but I guess I like my smile and my arms.

What are three things you want to change about your home? Well first, I really dislike all the wires that we have running from the 4 computers to the hub that’s located in the living room. We tried to get them as close to the wall as possible but they still bother me. Secondly, I wish that we had another room so that Rob’s desk didn’t have to be in the corner of the living room. And lastly, I wish I had a bigger closet. I have too many clothes.

What are four books you want to read this year? Hmm… The Nanny Diaries, The Lovely Bones, A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Bad Beginning, Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

What are five promises you have kept to yourself? I’ve been pretty good about cooking food at home as opposed to always going out to eat. I have decreased my clothes shopping considerably — but I think that might be due to the fact that I have no disposable income to use! I don’t procrastinate as much as I used to when it comes to cleaning my apartment. I’ve started to go through, clean and throw out the contents of various boxes that have been under my bed since I moved in a year ago. That’s only 4 but I can’t think of anything else…

Ok, this is too long already… need to sleep.

delusional shipper

Oh hell. Let me just say that I am officially putting on my delusional Pacey/Joey shipper hat and throwing a party. Yes, even with the completely snooze-worthy episode tonight, I am optimistic that February sweeps will be fun, fun, fun.

I forgot to mention that e-l.net celebrated its one year anniversary last Thursday! Woohoo! Just a little shameless celebration for my domain. 🙂

non-bloggy mood

Haven’t been in a real bloggy mood lately. Blah blah and more blah.

Did manage to catch the season premiere of American Idol — that was good stuff. I know it’s mean but I can’t help but find it amusing that people with horrible singing voices really believe that they have what it takes to be a pop star. Like that one guy Eddie (I think that’s his name) who wouldn’t believe that he had been cut. They had to escort the poor guy out of the audition room because he wouldn’t leave! omg, he was totally delusional. hee.

I finally caught the latest episode of BtVS!

* spoilers for Potential ahead*

Thank God Dawn is not a potential. I was ready to turn off the TV or something. And I have to say that the SiTs are all horrible — none of them can act at all! Aagghhh. But seeing Clem made watching the episode worthwhile. hee. Clem’s awesome.

* end spoilers *

Yay for more American Idol tomorrow. Something to look forward to.

revisiting roswell

Yay for me! I actually remembered that the Roswell reruns started yesterday. 🙂 It’s giving me something to look forward to every day, lol. The only thing that annoys me is that the Sci-Fi channel adds an extra commercial break in the last act. Grr! It’s only because they want to go straight to the next show at the top of the hour — but seriously, it screws with the flow of the episode. Blah to that.

I was really happy to see a new episode of Gilmore Girls but I totally could have done without the Rory/Jess kiss fest in the beginning. It was like 5 entire minutes of kissing! Ok, more like a minute but still. It could have been spent on better things — like more Luke! And Lane! And Lorelai! I did love all the Emily/Lorelai scenes though — “That’ll do pig, that’ll do.” hee.

New episode of Smallville too — though I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it yet. It was one of those episodes that left me saying “What the hell?” First of all, I can’t believe they actually killed off Whitney! *sob* I have to admit that I didn’t really like his character in the beginning of the first season — partly because we never really got to learn anything about him. He was just the stereotypical popular jock. But at the end of the season, I really grew to like him and then the writers shipped him off to nowheresville. And then we get him back only to find out that it’s not really him! Grr. Another thing that really bothered me was the whole Lex/Helen relationship — I didn’t feel a single ounce of chemistry between those two. They were so wooden, it was terrible. And I’m expected to believe that Lex sees a future with this girl? Oo-kay. And what happened to Pete? He got beaten up and we never saw him again. Poor Pete. Things I liked — Clark in a wet T-shirt (yummm), the Chloe/Lana scene and the Clark/Lana ending (and no, I didn’t think they were being selfish — just honest).

Oh! Did anyone see the premiere of that new show on MTV called MADE? It was the episode on the girl wanting to become a cheerleader… aww, it was cute. Or maybe I feel that way because it brought back happy pep squad memories. 🙂

Anyway, new episode of Dawson’s Creek tomorrow — is it just me or do the promos make Joey seem like a crazed stalker girlfriend? 😛

Ooohhh… Michael Rosenbaum on Conan… okay, that interview was waaaayyy too short. He seriously made me giddy though! I loved his pot-smoking grandma story and his Christopher Walken impression — MR is such a cutie. *happy sigh*

help me, i can’t sleep!

Oh dear, it’s 5am and I haven’t gone to bed yet. I tried, I really did — but I couldn’t fall asleep. In my state of unemployment, my sleeping schedule has once again gone haywire. But my long night hasn’t been in vain cause I’ve been reading spoilers — and I happened upon some very exciting news for Dawson’s Creek (what? it’s still my favorite show!). I knew there was some reason why I’m still sticking around after all these years.

Buffy season 3 DVDs today! whee! Now if I only had a job so I could AFFORD them right now. Blah. Speaking of TV shows on DVD, Dawson’s Creek season 1 is coming out on DVD on April 1, which I’m really excited about. Season 1 was classic — the Pacey and Tamara storyline, spunky Joey, and the short-lived romance of Dawson and Jen. *sigh* Such great memories. I just hope they make it through all the seasons. I especially want seasons 3 and 4: the P/Jo years. 🙂

Hmm… can anyone tell me what people want to see in a “girl” or “about me” section of a site? I want to revamp mine but I can’t come up with anything remotely interesting. HELP me!

Now let’s see if I can actually fall asleep.
