yay for short weeks

Whee! Only 3 days of work this week. 🙂 Sooo happy about that.

Rob and I went to the local Old Navy today so he could get some boxers (heh) and I could look at shorts for our trip to Hawaii. It occurred to me that I don’t own a single pair of shorts. I think I have 2 pairs of gym shorts but that’s it. So yeah, I tried on a few but they were all super short! Grrr. I really don’t want half my ass hanging out. ::rolls eyes:: I will find a long-ish (but not too long!) pair if it kills me.

I also discovered John Mayer recently — I love his song No Such Thing. He has an amazing voice. ::swoons:: I must go get his CD. 🙂

going home

I’m all giddy right now — I just saw The Strokes on Jay Leno! 😀 They sang Hard to Explain and they were awesome. Julian looked really nice and tan and his hair is doing a cool flip thing — Cat, you would have been so happy. 😉 I also saw Sarah Michelle Gellar on Conan O’Brien. She’s so gorgeous — she had a really radiant and glowing look to her. She just looked so happy, it was great to see her smiling. But I’m not too sure about Scooby Doo — I really can’t stand the sight of Freddie Prinze, Jr. with blonde hair. It seriously freaks me out.

Anyway, this is my last blog until Monday night probably. I’m going home to Southern California to visit my Dad for Father’s Day — fun! 🙂 And I don’t even want to attempt to use my dad’s computer cause it is the slowest thing in the universe. I would probably get fed up and kick it to high heaven or something. AND he has dial-up — I’ve been so spoiled with DSL that I am so impatient when it comes to surfing the net nowadays. So yeah. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend. 😀

slow saturday

Wow, what a slow Saturday — it just felt like it was going on and on and on… geesh.

Let’s see, I woke up this morning (or *cough*this afternoon*cough*) and I was immediately bored. So I dragged my lazy self over to Borders, which is across the street — cause I really wanted to buy The Strokes CD. I’ve been listening to Last Nite non-stop for the past week. Can you say addicted? hee. I found out that they’re going to be performing at the KROQ Weenie Roast in LA next weekend — the very same weekend that I’m going home to Southern CA to visit my dad for Father’s Day. Just knowing that I’ll be close to them makes me happy. 😛 Anyway, the entire CD is great — I especially love Hard To Explain, Someday, When It Started and SOMA. whee!

Hmmm… I also caught the MTV Movie Awards again. It wasn’t all that great — I liked last year’s awards much better, but maybe I’m biased cause I adore Jimmy Fallon. 😉 My favorite parts were the Spiderman and LOTR parodies, when Freddie gets jealous of Jack Black and SMG, and Ewan (::swoons::) and Natalie presenting Nicole with the Best Female Performance award. I now have the biggest crush on Ewan. 😛

harry potter mania

Aww, thanks for all the great compliments on the new layout — I’m glad everyone likes it. 🙂 The HP kids are just so darn cute. I can’t wait for the second movie — only 5 months to go! lol.

Oh! I picked up the new Avril Lavigne CD today — it’s amazing. It’s a must-listen. 😉

disappointment

Ugh, I hate disappointing people. Yesterday I was scheduled to work an event for a radio station where I do occasional work — well, I told them that was okay and they said they would send me all the relevant information via FedEx (this was 2 weeks ago). By Friday night, I still hadn’t received anything, which is their customary way of saying that the event was cancelled. So I stay up late and all that good stuff and Saturday morning, I am greeted to a message on my answering machine telling me that I was supposed to be at the event already and where am I. I felt so bad. But I seriously didn’t receive any information — through email, voicemail messages, or letter. I love working for the station but they really need to communicate with their employees much better, especially since I only work on random weekends.

Anyway, I went to see Britney Spears on Saturday night! She is such a great performer — I loved all her choreography — it really makes me miss all the dancing I used to do. Oh! There were 3 dads and their daughters (ranging from 8-14) sitting a few rows in front of us. The dads were drinking beer and dancing the entire time. Their poor daughters looked so embarassed. lol.
And yay! GO LAKERS! :p

seasons of love

I’m listening to the soundtrack to one of my most favorite mucials — Rent. I’ve had the CD on for the past few hours. ::sigh:: I just *adore* this song –>

Seasons of Love
Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes
Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred moments so dear
Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes
How do you measure — measure a year?
In daylights — In sunsets
In midnights — In cups of coffee
In inches — In miles
In laughter — In strife
In — Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes
How do you measure a year in the life?
How about love?
How about love?
How about love?
Measure in love
Seasons of love
Seasons of love
Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes
Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Journeys to plan
Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes
How do you measure the life
Of a woman or a man?
In truths that she learned
Or in times that he cried
In bridges he burned
Or the way that she died
It’s time now – to sing out
Tho’ the story never ends
Let’s celebrate
Remember a year in the life of friends
Remember the love
Remember the love
Remember the love
Measure in love
Measure, measure your life in love
Seasons of love
Seasons of love

::contented sigh:: I wish Rent was playing here in San Francisco – I so want to go see it again.

got ’em!

::screams like a crazed teeny bopper:: I got my Britney Spears tickets! June 1st at the Oakland Arena! 😛 WOOHOO! They’re on the right side of the stage but they’re on the floor — whee! Ok, that was just one too many exclamation points. Stopping now. I still have a huge grin on my face though. I’m a slaaave for you…

britney baby!

Britney tickets go on sale this Sunday! Yay! 😀 Yes, I’m a fan – and no, I’m not ashamed. I’m going to get in line with all the 12-year old girls and buy my tickets – with PRIDE. I can’t believe I’m so giddy. It’s that damn teeny-bopper inside me.
