wilmington

Call me a desperate fan!girl or whatever, but I really want to go to Wilmington to catch filming before Dawson’s Creek ends.

I even spent hours tonight trying to find inexpensive plane tickets! hee. I just don’t know if it’s something I can actually pull off. First of all, I’d have to make arrangements immediately if I want to go before April 25, which is rumored to be the last day of filming. I’d also have to get a few days off from work — and not having been at the company too long, I can’t gauge how my boss will react to this just yet. And then there’s the matter of trying to convince someone to go with me! (Anyone up for a Wilmy adventure? ;)) Cause my boyfriend didn’t seem too thrilled when I told him what I wanted to do.

It sounds perfect in my head — but I guess I don’t need to go right now. It would have been nice though. 🙂

bored at work

omg, will this day never end?!?

I’m afraid I’m going to fall asleep right now. On my desk. At work. There’s just nothing for me to do — which is nice cause I’ve been catching up on spoilers for my TV shows but now… nothing.

Anyway, some more answers to your questions…

If you could be any age, how old would you be?
I’d like to be 28 — I guess it’s because I see that age as being “on the verge” for me. It’s an age that’s well past college and the entry-level part of my career (*crosses fingers*) yet it’s just before the tide of huge responsibility, ie. buying a house, engagement/marriage, kids. But of course, this is all subject to circumstance. 🙂

What was your favorite age. Why?
My favorite age was when I was 19. It was my second year of college and I was having so much fun — my classes were finally interesting, I had a fab roommate, I started hanging out with my future boyfriend, and I was super involved with clubs and activities. I remember that I was always running around campus doing something! 🙂 Some of my best memories are from that point in my life.

Would you watch an awful television show frequently — if Joshua Jackson was on it?
Definitely. I need my weekly Josh fix! I would hold out for as long as I possibly could. Which is probably forever. I mean, I’m still watching Dawson’s Creek and that show descended into awful a few years back. lol.

Thanks to Jessica, Jill and Lisa for the questions!

And thanks to everyone for your words about my previous post — there has been no sign of protest troubles today and I hope it stays that way. The groups that are still protesting in front of my office building aren’t being disruptive and I totally respect that.

Yes! Time to go home!

protests

The past few days have not been pleasant for me. At all.

I work in the financial district of downtown San Francisco, which is a major site of all the war protests going on here. Can you imagine my paranoia/fear/anger when I arrive in the city and find protesters throwing entire huge metal newsstands into the streets? Or when protesters are throwing water at people who are trying to get into their office buildings? Or when I get to the train station to go home and find that service has been delayed due to protesters throwing rocks at the trains going from San Francisco to the other parts of the Bay? Or when I am stuck in my office for hours because the police have asked building security not to let anyone in or out of the building?

This is what I have had to deal with these last few days.

I mean, come on. I’m all for people voicing their opinions through large group demonstrations — heck, I went to UC Berkeley, the home of the free speech movement. But I do not understand why a protest needs to escalate into violence and the destruction of property.

At first I was scared. But after two straight days of feeling that way, I think I’ve reached the point where I feel upset and angry. What is the point of taunting innocent people who are trying to go on with their daily routine? Am I a selfish person for going to work while the war is going on?

Gah.

Anyway. The answers to more of your questions tomorrow.

What’s your favorite cereal?
If you’re talking about sweet, sugar-y cereal, then it’s Corn Pops. Mmm. Or sometimes Apple Jacks. It depends on my mood. But if you mean boring, healthy cereal, then it would have to be Special K with red berries. You know, I don’t know anyone else who likes the red berries — everyone seems to think they’re disgusting. heh.

What is your all time favourite song?
I knew someone would ask something like this! 😉 It would definitely have to be Etta James’s “At Last.” It’s a timeless song that I will never ever get sick of hearing.

If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?\
I thought about this question for awhile — and while I was tempted to pick an academic or a politician, I just really want to meet Janet Jackson. I used to think I would make professional dancing a career and she was my idol. I get so completely taken in when I watch her perform. Just a few years ago, I would have delusions of quitting school and training to be her back-up dancer! lol. Oh geez, I really wanted the opportunity to work with her.

There’s one more question I have to answer but I’m saving that for a post to itself…

Thanks to Jill and Tams for the questions! Anyone can definitely keep asking me if you like, just post in the commentor, anonymously or not. 🙂

the answers to your questions!

Soooo glad it’s the weekend — work’s been rough. *sigh* I desperately need the break.

Anywaaaayyy — some Answers! To your questions!

What’s your favourite movie and why?
My most favorite movie(s) ever are the Anne of Green Gables/Anne of Avonlea series. I read the books when I was younger and the story just captured me. I adore all the characters — Anne, Gil, Diana, Matthew, Marilla — and the movies highlight everything I love about them. It’s one of the few times when the movies met all my expectations.

Do you think it was wise of cinderella’s fairy godmother to give her glass slippers… I mean what if she slipped and broke em, then her feet would’ve gotten all cut up???
Well gee, I never really thought about it that way — with fairy tales, you just expect to suspend all belief anyway. But for all practical purposes, I suppose Cinderella’s fairy godmother wasn’t exactly using her head when she gave her glass slippers. I mean, who does that?!?

What’s your favorite noise that you wouldn’t mind hearing every day?
I don’t have a favorite noise, actually. I’m not big on noises that go on repeatedly without end — I mean, how aggravating! I do like to have the TV or radio on as background noise when I’m doing something, be it on the computer or doing household chores.

Thanks to Alie, Bobby, Tracy for the questions — there are more but I just got really sleepy. *yawn* I’ll finish them tomorrow. 🙂

ask me a question

Ok. So I officially have nothing to blog about.

I’m going to leave it up to you guys! Ask me questions. It’s your one in a lifetime chance to find out anything you want to know about me (self-absorbed much? lol)! I’ll answer anything. Really. So post away in the commenter! Fun fun.

Thanks to Angie for the idea. 🙂

bored out of my mind

I am so bored. So. Bored.

I realize I could be working on my sites but… eh. Pass. Or I could be trying to go to sleep, especially since it’s well past 1 am here. But it’s the weekend and I feel like I’ve earned the right to stay up as late as I want.

So I decided to traipse around the net trying to locate good Roswell fic. But the problem is that I can’t find anything that holds my interest. If anyone can recommend a good site, or author, or series… let me know! 🙂 I can’t seem to shake this silly little Roswell addiction I’ve had since the reruns started airing.

girl scout cookies

Girl Scout Cookies are going to be the death of me.

When I get to the train station after work, those Girls Scouts (they’re evil, I tell you!) are there… taunting me with their Samoas and Thin Mints and Lemon Cremes and Shortbread. It’s insane how compelled I feel to walk closer and closer to the table and shell out money just for a few boxes that I’ll most likely consume in the span of an hour. I severely lack control when it comes to cookies. Yuuummm.

Wow… look at me! I’m actively spreading the Everwood love! 🙂 First it was Alie and now Kate and Marianne too. *happy sigh*

tired as hell

Work has seriously been kicking my butt.

My boss was in town these past few days (she’s a West Coast Manager so she divides her time between LA and SF) so she’s been piling project after project on my desk. I’m not really complaining — it’s nice to be busy but… geesh. Ever since Wednesday morning, when she walked in the door, I’ve had this horrible knot in the back of my neck. And throughout the day, it progressively becomes a full-on headache. Not the most pleasant feeling while you’re trying to do lots of things at once. Boo.

eh

I had a pretty “eh” type of weekend. Dad came to visit, went shopping… nothing exciting. And I didn’t have a three-day weekend like everyone else. I had to go to work. And I did absolutely nothing because no one else was at work. Boo.

Went to see Daredevil on Friday — I don’t know anything about the comics really but nevertheless, I totally hyped up the movie in my head. It’s the Ben love, I have to admit. And while I thought he did a great job, there was just something so extremely cheesy about the movie. The fights were seriously only seconds long and the ending came to a resolution so quickly. It felt like whiplash. It just ended without really showing us how the characters came to the conclusions they did. However, I did love that Daredevil isn’t shown as a great superhero. He’s human — and his emotions and his actions reflect conflict rather than being all about the good. I liked that. Jennifer Garner and Jon Favreau rocked also.
