HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Rob and I had a low key evening… we went over to a friend’s house where we ate yummy Zachary’s Pizza and drank champagne to ring in 2007. And of course we also watched the ball drop on Dick Clark’s Rocking New Year’s Eve. It’s a tradition!

I spent today doing absolutely nothing, which was AWESOME. I can tell I’m up for a rude awakening when I have to go back to work tomorrow.

What was the most important thing you discovered in 2006? I need to get a good night’s rest every day. I used to be able to get away with 5-6 hours of sleep a day while I was in college. But it’s not cutting it anymore.
What will you always remember about 2006? Getting my driver’s license. FINALLY. 😀
In 2006, did you…
Keep your New Years resolutions? Not really. The only one I accomplished was getting my driver’s license. But that was a big one! So it should count A LOT.
Go on a holiday? Yes… Rob and I went to Paris for a week in October, which was absolutely AMAZING.
Change jobs? I did! I’ve only been at my new job for 2 months but so far, so good.
Buy anything from eBay? No. Buying stuff from eBay is too much effort for me, lol.
Prank call someone? Nope.
Get drunk? With my low tolerance, one sip of a drink is as good as getting drunk. Heh.
Get high? No. Never have, actually.
Fall in love? I’m already in love.
Break up with someone? No.
Get married? Hahahaha. No.
Get divorced? No.
Stop speaking to someone? Uhhh… maybe indirectly? But not on purpose.
Kiss someone? Rob, of course.

Make a new friend? Yup, my new co-worker, Steph.
Do anything embarassing? I tend to conveniently forget embarassing moments in my life… so I would share but I can’t remember any such moments from the past year. 😀
Do something that you thought that you would never do? Yup. Finally getting my driver’s license. I know I keep mentioning it but I can’t help it. It was a milestone!
Do something you have always wanted to do? Not really.
Do anything that you regret? Nothing major. I just wish I was better at calling and keeping in touch with friends and family.

Movie: The Last Kiss. I don’t think I ever blogged about this movie but I HATED IT.
TV Show: 7th Heaven. I’m still pissed at it for taking Everwood’s spot on the CW’s line-up.

Album: I don’t really listen to full albums anymore unless I really *love* the artist (JT, John Mayer) so… pass.
Hangover: I don’t think I’ve ever been hung over.
Memory: Giving my boss my resignation notice. Wahhh. That was so hard.

wii and the tree

We got the Nintendo Wii! Rob found out there were going to be 23 available at a nearby Circuit City so we dragged ourselves out of bed at 6:15am, picked up coffee at Starbucks (peppermint mocha – heaven!), and then found ourselves in line at 6:45am. WE ARE CRAZY. We were close to the front of the line so we figured we were guaranteed a console. Too bad Circuit City didn’t open until 10am and we had 3 hours to wait to find out for sure. AND it was totally freezing outside! OMG. But surprisingly the wait went by quickly (mostly due to the nearby McDonald’s and Barnes and Noble for food and a bathroom, lol) and at 15 minutes to 10am, we got our vouchers. I was #15 (we each bought one — one for us and the other as a favor for a friend)! 😀

The Wii is technically Rob’s Christmas present from me but I couldn’t torture him and make him wait until then to open it. We’ve set it up and played a few of the Sports games… it’s fun! I beat him at bowling (hehe) but he killed me in tennis and boxing. When we were playing tennis, I got all into it and I totally wacked Rob in the arm as I was swinging the remote. BWAH. We couldn’t stop laughing after that. I can’t wait to try the Zelda game.

Anyway, we also got our Christmas tree! Woot! It smells so good in our apartment with the tree in here. Mmmm. Now it’s definitely the holidays. I’ll have to take pictures once it’s all decorated.

Ok, so the answer to the “Guess the Truth” meme below is #2. 😀

Yes, I did audition for a dancing role in the movie Toys. It was when I was in elementary school and I was training at a ballet school in Santa Monica. We used to get information about casting calls all the time and I happened to go to this one. I was so excited because I got to miss a day of school and everything! I also got paid just for auditioning. A measly $10 and, of course, with taxes taken out, I think I ended up with $5. Heh. Sadly, I did not get a role but I did get to meet Barry Levinson. That was cool.

As for the other lies…
I was actually a Mass Communications major in college.
I was born in California.
I am an only child.
My favorite Harry Potter book is Goblet of Fire.
I have not vacationed in Greece. But I want to!!! Someday.

Speaking of trips, I am SO INCREDIBLY excited for my vacation to Paris. Not even the thought of getting to the airport hours ahead of time and being extra careful not to pack liquids in my carry-on can get me down. 😀 Rob and I are leaving on 10/12 (the day after my birthday!) and come back on 10/20, so we’ll have 7 full days there. (Or well, I guess you could say 6 days since that first day we probably won’t have too much energy what with the jet lag and all). I spent a good portion of the weekend checking out the forums on Fodors and Trip Advisor to get information on things to see, costs, transportation, weather, etc. I visited Paris in 1997 for a short amount of time (my family did one of those whirlwind tours where you see 7 cities in 3 weeks) so all I’ve seen up close is the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Catacombs and Versailles. Can’t wait to see other sites I missed, especially the Musee D’Orsay. The Degas pieces are calling me!

Off to do more research. 🙂
