telemundo

BWAH! I just saw the funniest thing on TV — *N Sync was on the Spanish channel Telemundo playing foozball. Then at the end, the host was speaking in Spanish really fast and the guys were just kinda standing there trying to look as if they knew what he was saying. ‘Twas funny, it was. Well, maybe just to me. *sigh*

Umm, well, because my life is pretty boring right now… I’ll do the Friday Five.

Where are you right now? Sitting at the dining table, which is the temporary locale for my laptop. I have yet to move my desktop computer off my desk and package it to send to my dad.

What time is it? It’s about 2:30 AM. I’m a night person, what can I say?

What are you wearing? I’m wearing gray sweats and a gray CAL Berkeley sweatshirt. Go bears!

Any people or animals around you? Describe them. My boyfriend Rob is sitting in the living room watching ESPN. No animals.

What are your plans for the weekend? Not much. Went to the grocery store today and bought the best orange juice ever from Trader Joe’s. Yum. Then Rob and I went to Best Buy to buy the Buffy s3 DVDs. And of course, they were out of stock. Grr. Got a raincheck though so I’ll get the sale price when they do come in. As for tomorrow, I’m going to the mall — I just have this urge to buy clothes. 😛

And thanks to everyone who commented on the layout — I really appreciate all the wonderful feedback. *smiles*

entirely too much TV

This week’s Friday Five is about TV — yay!

How many TVs do you have in your home? We have 3 TV’s in our apartment. One for me, one for Rob and one for my cousin Warren. We each have our own — god forbid we share. 😉 After all, I don’t think we’d ever agree on what to watch.
On average, how much TV do you watch in a week? Geesh, I guess like 11-12 hours per week regularly. That sounds like an awful lot. And sometimes I even have the TV on as background noise while I’m on the computer.
Do you feel that television is bad for young children? I guess it depends on what they’re watching — but I don’t really have strong feelings on this topic either way.
What TV shows do you absolutely HAVE to watch, and if you miss them, you’re heartbroken? Well, Dawson’s Creek for sure — no matter how bad it’s become. I’d also be pretty distraught over missing BtVS, Smallville, Friends and Alias.
If you had the power to create your own television network, what would your line-up look like? I would definitely have my WB/UPN shows — DC, SMVL, BtVS, Gilmore Girls, Everwood, my drama shows — The Practice, Alias, Law and Order, my comedies — Scrubs, Friends, my revived shows — Roswell, My So-Called Life, Felicity, my guilty pleasures — The Real World, all the ABC soaps, most MTV shows and sprinkled in between, my favorite Food Network shows. hee. That would be so awesome. 🙂

sweet home alabama

Just got back from watching Sweet Home Alabama — really cute movie. Reese Witherspoon was adorable. [possible spoiler alert] The plot wasn’t original or anything and the ending is totally predictable but the journey to the end was really funny. My favorite part, just like Sam’s was the proposal scene in Tiffany’s. Woooowww. *drools* And geesh, I had no idea Patrick Dempsey still looked that good! hee. [/end spoiler alert]

The Late Friday Five

What are your favorite ways to relax and unwind? I like to watch a lot of TV — my newest addiction is the Food Network.
What do you do the moment you get home from work/school/errands? I’ll usually check my email, get dinner started, or watch Friends reruns.
What are your favorite aromatherapeutic smells? I’m not really big on aromatherapy but I do find mint and eucalyptus to be very relaxing after a stressful day.
Do you feel more relaxed with a group of friends or hanging out by yourself? By myself. I dunno why — I’ve always been an introvert.
What is something that you feel is relaxing but most people don’t? I guess working on my site — and maybe making an occasional wallpaper. Most of my friends don’t find that at all relaxing.

Yay Alias tomorrow!

foooood is my weakness

Am doing another list thing because it makes me blog without actually talking about anything, you know? hee.

Seven on Sunday

Seven Favorite Foods
1. spaghetti
2. pistachio almond ice cream
3. chocolate covered strawberries
4. nachos
5. barbecue ribs
6. fried chicken
7. strawberry banana pie

Gawd, it’s 1am and thinking of that list just made me hungry! Damn.

keeping in touch

Friday Five

Would you say that you’re good at keeping in touch with people? Nope — to be honest, I’m really awful at keeping in touch.
Which communication method do you usually prefer/use: e-mail, telephone, snail mail, blog comments, or meeting in person? Why? I like either talking on the telephone or meeting in person — just a bit more personal. I’m completely horrible at email. It takes me ages to respond. 😛
Do you have an instant messenger program? How many? Why/why not? How often do you use it? I have AOL/AIM but I rarely ever use it. I stopped using it a few years back when I was still in school because I had a tendency to chat for long periods of time and not get any schoolwork done.
Do most of your close friends live nearby or far away? Far away — my cousin and my best friends live in Southern CA.
Are you an “out of sight, out of mind” person, or do you believe that “distance makes the heart grow fonder”? I think a bit of both — I think that living away from my family has made me appreciate them more. But because they are so far away, I forget to check in with them sometimes — I need to better at doing that.

And because I really like the subject of this Seven on Sunday

Seven famous people I would sleep with… no strings attached, no questions asked, just one night…
1. Joshua Jackson
2. Tom Welling
3. Ewan MacGregor
4. Mark Barry
5. Michael Rosenbaum
6. Matthew Perry
7. Michael Vartan
YUMMMM. 😛

Hmm… I just noticed that my splash page looks f*cked up in AOL — geesh. AOL is always screwing things up!

sausalito art festival

I am so freaking tired. *sigh* I spent last night helping Rob’s brother move to his new apartment — wow, I totally forgot just how much I hate moving. It sucks. I’m never going to move, ever — it would be a total pain to pack all my stuff. I have so much… junk! lol.

And then, I had to wake up at 5am this morning to go to work(!). As a second job (and because I really love radio), I work at various events around the Bay Area for KGO Radio. Anyway, this weekend (yes, I’m working all day tomorrow too! wah!) we’re at the Sausalito Art Festival. Sausalito is a great little town just north of San Francisco after crossing the Golden Gate Bridge — it’s gorgeous. It sits right on the water and there are beautiful homes sitting atop the hills. Very upscale. Anyway, artists from all around the country are at this festival to promote and sell their work — it’s amazing to walk up and down the booths to see the paintings, watercolors, sculptures and photographs. But geesh, I was there at 6:30 this morning and I didn’t get home until 8pm! I was seriously ready to pass out. My feet are *still* killing me. And I have to wake up tomorrow morning and do it all over again. Geesh.

omg! Has anyone seen that TV show on NBC called Meet My Folks? I watched an episode earlier and I could not stop laughing! The premise is that there are 3 guys or girls who get to spend a weekend with a guy/girl and his/her parents. They have various “tasks” that need to be performed or “dirty little secrets” will be revealed about them. And at the end, the parents get to pick the person that their child gets to go on a vacation with. Bwah! On the show that I watched, there was a guy (who was totally hot and his name was Josh! like my huge celebrity crush. hee) and three girls — two of which looked like they had boob jobs. heh. But damn, all of them had some crazy secrets — they apparently have all cheated on ex-boyfriends, one dated a 51 year old because he was her “sugar daddy” and spent thousands of dollars on her, one knowingly slept with a married man, one got fired from her job at a clothing store for having phone sex, etc etc… the list goes on. I was like, how do they get this information?!? But it was hilarious watching the girls try to defend themselves. The information about the girl who dated the older man was that he was 60 — but when she tried to explain herself, she said “Well, first of all, he wasn’t 60, he was 51” — bwah! Oh, that makes it sooo much better, honey. I don’t think I’ve laughed that hard in a long time.

Well, I’ve rambled way too long — but just to make it a bit longer —

The Friday Five
What’s your favorite piece of clothing that you currently own? My tan corduroy sherpa jacket from Abercrombie.
What piece of clothing do you most want to acquire? A long red coat like this one from Banana Republic.
What piece of clothing can you not bring yourself to get rid of? Why? Uh, nothing really. If I don’t like something, I’ll donate it to Goodwill — and I don’t really have clothes with that much sentimental value. With shoes, though, I’m like a pack rat. I have pairs of shoes that I haven’t worn in years.
What piece of clothing do you look your best in? Just jeans, a cute baby tee and a fun belt. For some reason, I’m very big on belts right now.
What has been your biggest fashion accident? WAY back, I used to wear jeans where the waist was really high. AND I used to tuck my shirts into my jeans. *shudder*

darrin’s dance grooves

I went shopping today and came home with Darrin’s Dance Grooves. lol. It’s actually pretty fun — I am determined to learn the routine from Jordan Knight’s Give It To You and be able to perform it at the normal speed. Rob was doing the video with me too — hee! It’s so cute seeing him learn the dance moves. 😛

Seven on Sunday:

1. Abercrombie and Fitch
2. Banana Republic
3. Crate and Barrel
4. Borders, Barnes & Noble
5. Tower Records
6. Best Buy

I know there are more — I’m a shopping whore. 🙂

driving

The Friday Five is about driving, and since I *still* do not have my license, I can’t really answer any of the questions. ::shrugs:: Yes, I do realize that at some point, I’ll have to learn. But for now, I’m quite happy in my ignorance.

One week until Hawaii! Eek!

laid back

Urrrgggh, back to work tomorrow. Work is evil.

Anyway, I had a pretty laid back weekend — on Friday, I hung out with my best friends, Carmen and Robyn, at a friend’s house in the city. Everyone was piss drunk (heh) and I found it highly amusing to be the only person who was completely sober. The one thing that kept cracking me up is the way Robyn kept saying “yo” at the end of every sentence — she doesn’t normally talk like that. And geesh, can that girl chug down a beer! I mean, dayum. 😛

I spent a few hours earlier surfing Fan Forum for DC spoilers — hey, at least I can be prepared for any cringe-worthy D/Jo scenes. There are quite a few early season premiere spoilers which made me snicker — it might not be such a bad season after all. 😉
And finally! CTS is thinking about putting out DC DVDs — I definitely want to get my hands on S1, 3 and 4. Go here to vote — DC DVD Survey.

Seven on Sunday:

Seven jobs you would Kill For —
1. Professional shopper
2. Britney Spears or Janet Jackson back-up dancer
3. Set designer for movies or TV shows
4. Joshua Jackson or Tom Welling’s personal assistant
5. Travel Critic
6. Promotions Director at a company like Disney
7. To sit at home and do nothing, ie. watch TV and play with my sites all day 😛
