homage to dc

New layout, yay. I just needed a bit of a change from the red in the last layout. It was getting too bright and cheery… or something.

And yes, I do realize it’s Dawson’s Creek again, lol. I just wanted something that spanned all the seasons of DC since the show is coming to an end soon. Be sure to check out all the other sections — the little header pictures are all different. 🙂 Fun fun.

I’ve actually only managed to watch the first 4 episodes of my DC s1 DVD (Pilot, The Dance, The Kiss, Discovery) and gawd, how much better was the dialogue back then? It’s completely different from the writing in the later seasons. It was a lot more self-aware and witty back then. And I completely agree with Kate, the chemistry between Pacey and Joey is like… palpable. They act as if they despise one another but deep down they have real respect and love for the other. I totally missed that before — I was so busy being confused about which side of the Joey/Jen/Dawson triangle to root for. On the one hand, I wanted Joey to get her dream but I also saw something really sweet in Dawson and Jen’s relationship.

Last bit of DC talk — if you requested DVD caps from me, I haven’t started them yet! Eek, don’t hate me. I was very lazy this weekend. I’ll probably get started tomorrow.

castaways

Eeeee!!! I can’t speak. Too happy. 🙂 So. Much. P/Jo. Cuteness. “Castaways” was one of those episodes that went by way too fast — I seriously looked at the clock at about 8:50 and was like, “What?!? Only 10 more minutes? More P/Jo!” I loved every single moment of the episode, even if it was a bit cheesy and contrived (I mean, come on, getting locked in K-Mart?). After all, they talked about their past! That’s cause for celebration right there — couples on this show are notorious for not resolving anything. I’m glad that TPTB are letting these two crazy kids have a second chance (I hope, anyway). And continuity! It’s good to see you again! The writers actually remembered moments of P/Jo’s history (ie. Pacey teaching Joey how to drive). Will wonders never cease.

::sigh:: Some of my favorite quotes:

— Joey: “Unless you take me home now, right now, I think little miss thing isn’t going to be so interested when your sister gives you the tongue kissing of your life.” BWAH!

— Pacey: “A beautiful woman did just offer to have sex with me – no strings attached.”
Joey: “You’re so cute when you’re delusional.”

— Joey: “What the hell is happening to my butt right now?”
Pacey: “That would be the seat warmer that comes standard on all your finer German automobiles.”
Joey: ” Well, my lower half thanks you for moving so far up the socioeconomic ladder.”

— Pacey (about their argument): “We could live for a thousand years and we would never finish this.”

— Joey: “Regular or menthol?”
Pacey: “Are we smoking or shaving?”

— Joey: “Hello chin! You’re back.” (That’s my personal favorite in the entire episode). hee.

— Pacey: “If the next words out of your mouth are ‘Take out the trash,’ I will officially have a preview of what it would be like to be married to you.”

— Joey: “I was going to say — Did you know…?”
Pacey: “Did I know what?”
Joey: “This was a dream come true.”

How am I going to wait until April for the next episode?!? I hate rerun hell.

anticipation

omg, I’m at work right now (I’m so bad — I’m blogging at work!) — but I can’t stop thinking about going home so I can watch Dawson’s Creek tonight. I mean, come on, it’s the Pacey/Joey hour! lol. I need help. 😛

p/jo heaven

Um. So Kel has died and gone to Pacey/Joey heaven. That’s where she’ll be for awhile. 🙂

[edit] Hmm… I decided that I loved tonight’s DC episode, “Clean and Sober,” SO much that I would watch it again… and again. I’ve watched it 3 times now, lol! And because I’m too lazy (and giddy!) to write anything coherent, here are some of my favorite things from the episode:

— Joey (to Pacey): “Your clothes don’t fool me — same old lovable punk.”
(And it was so cool that Pacey and Joey were shopping in Best Buy. That’s my favorite store! hee.)

— I loved Joey’s season 2 references — 1) telling David about Jack getting excited when she was sketching him and 2) telling CJ that Jen “killed a girl once… Abby Morgan… with champagne.” Drunk Joey rocks!

— Pacey (to Joey after she said that he wasn’t over her): “Ah yes, I cry myself to sleep every night. But Jack and I cuddle… that eases the pain.” Heh.

— Joey (to Jen and CJ as they leave Spin the Bottle to make out some more): “This isn’t 7 minutes in heaven… you guys have to come back.”

— Audrey (to Dawson): “You seem a little less self-absorbed than when you got here. You better get yourself back to LA proper, fast.”
(I think I might actually like these two together… but I don’t want to subject Audrey on Dawson just yet. I like him too much).

— Jen (to CJ after having sex on Joey’s coat): “Joey has enough coats.” lol.

And by far, my MOST favorite quote —
— Pacey (to Joey, who is sleeping, about not getting over her): “What you said earlier was right. I never did. How could I? Just look at you.”

THUD. That is me falling on the floor from happiness. 🙂

delusional shipper

Oh hell. Let me just say that I am officially putting on my delusional Pacey/Joey shipper hat and throwing a party. Yes, even with the completely snooze-worthy episode tonight, I am optimistic that February sweeps will be fun, fun, fun.

I forgot to mention that e-l.net celebrated its one year anniversary last Thursday! Woohoo! Just a little shameless celebration for my domain. 🙂

the song remains the same

Whee! I’m really happy DC is back — I know it’s a craptastic show but I loooove it. 🙂 My thoughts:

Love the new credits — especially since they kept some very important moments in there. Case in point(s) — P/Jo jumping into the water in the teaser from 401, Joey sitting in Pacey’s lap from the s3 credits, Pacey throwing grass at Katie from the s5 credits AND Pacey’s red sweater dance. I would have killed the bastard editors if the red sweater dance had been taken out. I live for the red sweater dance. *ahem*

The writing seemed to be sharper and wittier in just these 2 episodes than in all of season 5. Nice.

New characters:
Professor Hudson is okay so far. The main thing I like about him right now is that he’s not all about loving Joey — that storyline should be left in season 5 along with that evil Professor Wilder. But then again I love Roger Howarth (he’ll always be Todd Manning to me!) so maybe I’m biased. Oh! And he was totally wearing Pacey’s shirt from season 2! Thought that was funny.

I’m not liking Eddie so much. What’s with the perma-scowl? And Oliver Hudson just looks old, like out of place old. Make him go away! But of course not, they’ve already started the love/hate relationship between him and Joey. Gah. Rebound guy anyone?

CJ didn’t really do anything in this episode except establish himself as a potential love interest for Jen. I think they look super cute together. 🙂 And hello! Jensen Ackles is HOT! If I had known he was on Dark Angel, I would have been all over that show. 😛

Lastly, Emma bothered me just a tad. Maybe cause I sensed her attraction to Pacey. And I *so* do not want Pacey hooking up with any more girls. Enough with the ManWhore!Pacey storyline. And great, they’re gonna be roommates. The writers must think they’re so smart.

All in all though, I think they did a great job with the new characters this season — I *loathed* Charlie and Karen from last year. Damn. Sends shivers down my spine.

Finally! Jack is getting some loving! But really, all those boys seemed a bit much. And I have to say, Kerr is looking mighty fine. Yum.

Audrey is ANNOYING! Please. tone. her. down. Like now. I hate her “Pacey, please do whatever I want” voice — it is seriously grating. Love Busy though — her new hairdo is cute.

Can Pacey please break up with Audrey already? I mean, it’s inevitable. There were anvils all over the place. Just get it over with — it’ll save me from rolling my eyes during their scenes. Not sure how I feel about Pacey being a stockbroker. It’s too weird. And Pacey has never been the “corporate America” type. But hell, if it keeps JJ in that suit and tie — so be it.

Jen’s hair has got to go! Don’t like those terribly short bangs on her.
Loved Pacey and Joey’s scene by the jukebox, of course. How cute was it that when Joey said “Bite me,” Pacey really did. *sigh* Also loved the scene in Hell’s Kitchen at the end when Jen, Audrey, Jack and Pacey were talking about D/Jo. I’m glad we finally got a chance to see what they think of the D/Jo saga. Pacey hit it right on the head when he said the D/Jo relationship was “structurally unsound.” I don’t normally like saying this… but WORD.

I was also upset that the 2 couples I don’t like (D/Jo and P/Aud) stole P/Jo moments! First, Audrey says “Nice change of pace, Pace,” which is a blatant ripoff of Joey’s line in 401. Grr. And then! Dawson and Joey do that love knot thing (when they’re holding hands and then she puts his arm around her shoulder) — that was SO P/Jo! Double grrr.

Now to the big D/Jo event — I used to ship them back in season 1 and I could definitely see shades of what made them a great couple back then. Now though, they’re not such a great couple. They have some warped, idealized notion of what the other should be and they will never ever live up to the dream. They just need to get over it and move on. I mean, there comes a point when the pain just isn’t worth it. I hope this is it for Joey — in my mind, Dawson was wrong for not telling her about his girlfriend. Sure they were caught up in the throes of passion but he had to know that this piece of information would make a difference. And I was so yelling at him when they were fighting and he said “Who dumped who four years ago?” Dawson, get over it! Nice how he turned the argument around and made it all Joey’s fault.

Anyway, I’m rambling now and it’s becoming painfully obvious that I obsess about this show way more than is normal, lol. Bye for now.

jimmy rocks my world

Jimmy Fallon is my new boyfriend. I just finished watching the MTV Video Music Awards and I loved when Jimmy was introducing Guns n Roses — he was all giddy and jumping up and down. So cute. 😛 Besides that, the VMA’s were kind of blah. I loved Jimmy’s opening sketch, especially the Enrique parody. Hee. I also enjoyed the performances by Shakira (that girl can shake her booty!), Eminem, and Justin (loved his dancing, hated his song). One thing that stands out in my mind is Christina Aguilera’s voice — when did she develop that accent? Weird. And omg, I can’t believe Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen are that old now. They’re like 17(!), I think. I remember when they couldn’t even talk yet! Seeing them makes me feel so old.

I hate layout blocks. I love Pacey and Joey but I need a change — inspiration, where are you?

Speaking of Pacey and Joey, I found this gem in Joey’s summer diary

“Should I pretend like it doesn’t matter? Should I pretend that the fact that Audrey and Pacey are spending the summer together, sharing the kind of adventures he and I shared aboard the True Love, has no effect on me whatsoever? To the world, yes, that’s what I’ll have to convey. Can’t very well go around harboring some weird resentment of your ex-boyfriend and your roommate just because they happen to have gotten together. What difference does it make to me anyway? It’s not like I want to date Pacey now… we’re way past that. Aren’t we?”

*sigh* Finally some acknowledgement that Pacey and Joey did indeed once date. But it’s too little too late for me.

Anyway, I still have to finish telling everyone about my Hawaii trip. lol. I bet no one’s interested anymore! Oh well, you’ll all have to humor me. 🙂

true love

I’ve been reading sooo much Pacey/Joey fanfic these last few days — so tada! It’s e-l.net — Pacey and Joey style. 🙂 I miss them so much. *sniff* I think tomorrow will be spent watching all the fabulous Season 3 and 4 episodes on my computer. Can’t wait. 😛 This layout is staying up for a looong time — I just don’t have the energy.

I was watching MTV’s Cribs earlier and they showed Mark Barry’s (you know, the guy from BBMak) apartment in England. I am in love with him. Too bad he’s engaged. The nerve. 😉

Oh! I finally got the guestbook up and running again. What a pain that was. Ugh. Sign it and take pity on me.

wet tom! yum!

I just saw last night’s episode of Smallville (“Crush”) and can I just be a teeny-bopper for a bit — how HOT was Clark/Tom as he was standing in the rain at the end? ::drool:: Yum! I also really loved all the moments between Clark and Lana. The look between them at the end was so full of angsty goodness. ::sigh:: My favorite quote was from Lex to Clark: “For arguments sake, lets call them Lana and Chloe.” Hee!

So tonight was yet another crap-tastic episode of my favorite show Dawson’s Creek. Very disappointing but at least we got to see Jen. The only redeeming scenes were the ones with her in them. I loved loved loved when she was dancing on the chair to “Teenage Wasteland.” She’s completely adorable. As for the rest of the episode, 1) the Pacey/Alex storyline equals waste of time, 2) Dawson was not the last person who went with Joey to visit her dad in jail, it was actually Pacey (convenient lapse of memory. stupid writers) and 3) Dawson/Joey — well, I think I’ve made it pretty clear that I love these two characters individually and only as friends so really, I have absolutely no interest in their upcoming reunion. I’m in total agreement with Linda — Pacey and Joey had the much more compelling relationship but *of course,* their great love story was sacrificed for the soulmates. My poor little True Lover heart. I don’t care if the original plan for the show was all about the road to Dawson and Joey — Kevin Williamson never even thought that the show would continue past the first season. Times change, characters change — I really think the writers are limiting the creative potential of the show by writing stories that cater to the soulmate storyline but whatever. I’ve thought entirely too much about this.

Must think happy thoughts. 😛

[edit: I’m looking for screencaps for Smallville (“Crush”) and high quality promo pics for Spider-Man. Help anyone? ]

sleeeeepeeee

Aww damn, I’m supposed to be cleaning my apartment for my best friend’s visit this weekend and what do I do? I fall asleep! Gah! I really need to vacuum but now that it’s 11:30pm, I don’t think the people who live below me will appreciate that too much. But what *really* sucks is that I missed so much great TV (yes, I realize I need to get my priorities straightened out) — I missed Friends, the season finale of The Bachelor AND the *N Sync concert special. ::makes mad face::

I found this portion of an article by TV Gal (a P/Joer!) at Project Nookie — hee!

“For me, there are some shows that transcend cancellation. “Dawson’s Creek” shows signs of approaching this special category by the sheer ridiculousness of its plot lines. I had to love that even though the 100th episode was a complete love letter to the Dawson and Joey relationship, Katie Holmes picked a Pacey moment as her personal favorite (Go Katie, Go Katie.). At least Katie remembers that Joey used to love Pacey. But I cannot call for the cancellation of “Dawson’s Creek” because hello I’m not crazy, I want to see Joshua Jackson every week.

Damn, she can read my mind! I couldn’t have said it better myself. I heart TV Gal.
