wet tom! yum!

I just saw last night’s episode of Smallville (“Crush”) and can I just be a teeny-bopper for a bit — how HOT was Clark/Tom as he was standing in the rain at the end? ::drool:: Yum! I also really loved all the moments between Clark and Lana. The look between them at the end was so full of angsty goodness. ::sigh:: My favorite quote was from Lex to Clark: “For arguments sake, lets call them Lana and Chloe.” Hee!

So tonight was yet another crap-tastic episode of my favorite show Dawson’s Creek. Very disappointing but at least we got to see Jen. The only redeeming scenes were the ones with her in them. I loved loved loved when she was dancing on the chair to “Teenage Wasteland.” She’s completely adorable. As for the rest of the episode, 1) the Pacey/Alex storyline equals waste of time, 2) Dawson was not the last person who went with Joey to visit her dad in jail, it was actually Pacey (convenient lapse of memory. stupid writers) and 3) Dawson/Joey — well, I think I’ve made it pretty clear that I love these two characters individually and only as friends so really, I have absolutely no interest in their upcoming reunion. I’m in total agreement with Linda — Pacey and Joey had the much more compelling relationship but *of course,* their great love story was sacrificed for the soulmates. My poor little True Lover heart. I don’t care if the original plan for the show was all about the road to Dawson and Joey — Kevin Williamson never even thought that the show would continue past the first season. Times change, characters change — I really think the writers are limiting the creative potential of the show by writing stories that cater to the soulmate storyline but whatever. I’ve thought entirely too much about this.

Must think happy thoughts. 😛

[edit: I’m looking for screencaps for Smallville (“Crush”) and high quality promo pics for Spider-Man. Help anyone? ]

twiddle dee dee

La la la… today is Tuesday night — otherwise known as TV night for me cause I watch Buffy, Roswell, Gilmore Girls and Smallville. Unfortunately for me, there is also a Lakers game tonight which Rob *must* watch. ::sigh:: So of course I must tape all my shows. Who knows when I’m going to get the chance to watch all of them. Blah.

So, as I am wasting away in my room, I was reading an issue of Rob’s PC Magazine today and there is a really funny article about blogging in it so I thought I would share some of the “tips” that the writer gives —

1. Blog daily. If you miss a day, use the entire next day’s blog entry apologizing profusely. Explain in detail the fascinating adventure you had that caused you to miss a day of blogging. Make sure to rave about how great blogging is and how blogging will change the world.
2. Make sure your blog has a list of your favorite bloggers, and hound them to put your blog on their lists. If you get removed from someone’s list, make a public outcry and demand to be returned to the place of honor, or threaten to take the other blogger’s name off your list.
3. Prove that you’re a dedicated blogger by citing at least five other blogs that you just read. Praise them ad nauseum. Then comment on links that their authors discovered and cut and paste these links to your own blog.

Hee! I know it’s sarcastic but it’s all in good fun — I know I’m guilty of all three, for the most part! lol.

friends on DVD

Awwww… thanks to everyone for all the wonderful compliments on the new look around here. I have such a huge smile on my face now! 😀
YES! Today I bought Season 1 of Friends on DVD — you know what I’m going to be doing this weekend! Watching 22 episodes of non-stop Friends with nifty behind the scenes extras, of course. *lol*

Hmm… ’tis now May and I finally changed my calendar to the right page and guess who should be gracing my room with his charming good looks? None other than Josh Jackson! ::sigh:: Random, I know — just felt like sharing.

version 4 coming soon

I’ve been working on a new layout (well, not really — more like new graphics :P) for the past few days so expect to see a brand new look soon. 🙂
Hmm, aside from that, I haven’t really been doing much of anything — Tuesday Night TV tired me out. I found Roswell to be really good — I can’t believe that there’s only 2 more episodes left. *sniff* And is it just me or did that Connie girl look a lot like Tess? Weird stuff. I also managed to catch Smallville (another freak of the week episode), which grossed me out a bit. I detest bugs so watching a swarm of bees attack people was not fun at all. But did anybody see those promos for the Smallville episode that airs on May 21? I think that’s probably the season finale. Anyway, the tagline was “The Storm is Coming.” I wonder what that’s all about — I guess I should read spoilers, huh? Oh! Speaking of spoilers, I saw some *very* spoilerish pics for the season finale of Buffy on the spoiler board at Fan Forum. Interesting stuff indeed.

sleeeeepeeee

Aww damn, I’m supposed to be cleaning my apartment for my best friend’s visit this weekend and what do I do? I fall asleep! Gah! I really need to vacuum but now that it’s 11:30pm, I don’t think the people who live below me will appreciate that too much. But what *really* sucks is that I missed so much great TV (yes, I realize I need to get my priorities straightened out) — I missed Friends, the season finale of The Bachelor AND the *N Sync concert special. ::makes mad face::

I found this portion of an article by TV Gal (a P/Joer!) at Project Nookie — hee!

“For me, there are some shows that transcend cancellation. “Dawson’s Creek” shows signs of approaching this special category by the sheer ridiculousness of its plot lines. I had to love that even though the 100th episode was a complete love letter to the Dawson and Joey relationship, Katie Holmes picked a Pacey moment as her personal favorite (Go Katie, Go Katie.). At least Katie remembers that Joey used to love Pacey. But I cannot call for the cancellation of “Dawson’s Creek” because hello I’m not crazy, I want to see Joshua Jackson every week.

Damn, she can read my mind! I couldn’t have said it better myself. I heart TV Gal.

freak of the week

I was watching Smallville earlier and I’m starting to get annoyed with the “freak of the week” storylines. I wish they would start developing the characters more — like with Pete, we saw a glimpse of what goes through his head in Nicodemus but nothing since. The whole thing is getting seriously tired.

DC’s 100th episode

Talk about disappointment — that’s all I felt while watching Dawson’s Creek’s 100th episode. For an episode that is *supposed* to celebrate what the show has been and where it is going, it truly broke my heart. While the episode itself was fun and cute (although all the MTV cameos drove me crazy), it really was nothing more than a “filler” episode — setting up what can only be D/Jo reunion #56418754.

Once upon a time, this show was about friendships — about Dawson, Joey, Pacey, Jen, Jack and Andie (I kinda missed her). But watching “100 Light Years From Home” made me realize that Dawson and Joey are the only characters that matter. Everyone else is relegated to secondary storyline status. Ugh. I mean, where were all the flashbacks celebrating the 5 years these characters have spent as friends — growing up and learning from each other? Where were Gail, Bessie, Alex, Grams, etc? Why wasn’t this episode in Capeside? Instead, we’re treated to flashbacks of Dawson and Joey — you know, those two crazy kids who can never seem to get their timing right. ::screams::

More ranting —
Jen– My favorite character got shafted – AGAIN! Grr. Do the writers hate Jen or something? The poor girl had like 2 minutes of screen time. Plus, she was sick. What is that about? Michelle Williams is the best actress on this show and they can’t even recognize that and give her a real storyline.

Dawson/Pacey– How in the world did Pacey get so comfortable with Dawson? Don’t get me wrong, I love (and really miss) the friendship between these two — but honestly, I wish their relationship had been developed on screen. That would have been risky story-telling — maybe too risky considering it would have meant acknowledgement of the P/Jo relationship. But it would also have been hopeful, angsty and ultimately satisfying for these two and their fans.

I still love DC, though — it’s like a bad addiction that I can’t get over. lol.

One thing I really loved (and it wasn’t even part of the episode) was Katie Holmes’s pick for her brightest DC moment — the scene in Season 3 when Pacey gave Joey her wall. ::sigh:: I was so happy she chose that one — it’s a P/Jo scene for one but ultimately it’s about friendship and going the extra mile to support your friends. 🙂 Go Katie!

I know, I know — too much DC ranting. ::blush:: Sorry guys. 😛

smallville shippery goodness

One thing I really love about Smallville is that the writers really know how to cater to all shipper fanbases (unlike DC writers who like to insult fans with the soulmate anvils they throw around). Like in tonight’s episode “Stray,” fans of Clark/Chloe, Clark/Lana, Clark/Lex, even Lex/Lionel could all leave the episode feeling that the relationship (romantic or otherwise) between their chosen pairing had been hinted at and acknowledged.

My favorite quote of the episode was from Lex to Lionel — “I’ve waited to hear other things from you for a lot longer.” ::sob:: I also loved all the interaction between Clark and Chloe — I may not be a shipper of these two but I have to admit that her infatuation and his oblivion is rather endearing.

And yay (or maybe not), Dawson’s Creek’s 100th episode is tomorrow. 🙂

once and again

omg, I wasn’t even a regular viewer of Once and Again but geesh, I was totally crying while watching the series finale. The entire episode was an emotional roller coaster — but I really started to lose it when Eli (Shane West – yum!) looked at his mom with those puppy dog eyes of his and told her he loves her. ::sobs:: And the end — after the director said “Cut!” — seeing Sela Ward and Billy Campbell reminisce about the first time they met to Evan Rachel Wood, Susanna Thompson and Shane West choking up while talking about how much the show and the people have meant to them — oh man. Flood gates. Plus, these last few minutes were shot in black and white so it made it all the more sad. I keep reading rumors that Lifetime is going to be airing reruns — I hope so. I’d really like to watch what I missed.

highway to hell is right

What happened to my favorite show?!?

I hate that the DC writers have had so many opportunities to take these characters into new and fresh directions but instead they waste potential and recycle tired storylines. It’s exasperating, really.

Pacey and Audrey – Were cute but not anymore. Can they please do something else besides have sex? And can someone explain to me why Joey (Joey! the same girl who had a long, intense and romantic relationship with Pacey last season) can be so indifferent towards all the groping and kissing that P/A do in front of her? I mean, ugh. You’d think that the three of them would be a *little* uncomfortable in that situation.

Pacey and Joey – Of course, the one scene these two had together had to be ruined when Joey said that if she wanted to, she could break Charlie’s heart into a million pieces. I just, I don’t know, found that to be in bad taste, especially since she said it to Pacey.

Dawson and Jen – Now *this* is the wasted potential that I’m talking about. These two could have been great — but they ended before they really got a chance to become something. And after witnessing several loving scenes between these two, the writers want me to believe that they had no passion?!? That it was all about comfort sex?!? It’s just lazy writing! Or maybe it’s just the build up towards Dawson and Joey getting back together at the end of the season. Blah blah. (That’s not a spoiler — that’s my speculation).

But really, the thing that incenses (is that too harsh?) me the most is Joey and Charlie. The whole “Joey can change him but Jen can’t” storyline. It’s all Joey, all the time.

The one thing I did like about “Highway to Hell” was that Jack and Jen seem to be getting their friendship back on track. I love these two together — more!

Ok, I know you’re reading this and thinking, “Wow, Kel is really insane. Or obsessed. Probably both.” I know. lol. DC brings out those qualities in me. 😉
