summer diaries part 2

Because I am a good samaritan, I will be recapping the DC summer diaries so you guys don’t have to. ;)

Dawson… to ditch or not to ditch Oliver? That, boys and girls, is the question.

Jack… the poor guy misses Jen. But really, wasn’t he the one who ditched her for frat boy Eric? ::rolls eyes::

Joey… She wrote Dawson a letter that she’ll never send. She writes — “Feels like we’ve barely spoken all summer. And yet there’s still so much unspoken, isn’t there? It’s not as if time and distance and all those things don’t make it next to impossible to reach each other, plus you’re busy, I’m busy, and these things tend to fall by the wayside. Is that how it’s always going to be?” It goes on and on like that for a bit. ::sigh:: Good grief — it’s never-ending with these two. Writers (not that they would ever read my blog), you need to put these crazy kids together and make them decide, once and for all, if they belong together. Cause all this back and forth silliness is really maddening. Also, still no definite confirmation that she’s in Paris.

Pacey… my sweet Pacey has become little more than a vehicle for the writers to let us know how Audrey is handling the summer with her very critical and scrutinizing parents. ::yawn::

Jen… I’m still upset with the writers for tackling Jen’s parental issues in the diaries of all places. They had ample opportunities in Seasons 3 and 4, when Jen faced her mom and dad for the first time in a long while but of course, those 2 storylines were a whole lot of nothing.

american idol

So I finally broke down and watched American Idol — and I’m sad to say that I’m hooked. *sigh* After the disappointment of PopStars 2 (I hated the second season but I thought the first was highly entertaining), I didn’t think I’d ever be able to watch these crazy reality shows again. But gah — these contestants are actually pretty good. :P My two favorites are definitely Justin (I love his facial expressions) and Kelly (what an amazing voice and a great name :P ). AJ had a cute voice but he didn’t look very comfortable on stage and that girl Ryan made me cringe. I guess the others weren’t very noteworthy cause I can’t remember anything about them — either that, or I just have the most horrible memory. :P I’m sure I’ll tune in tomorrow to find out who gets booted off — let it be Ryan! — heh.

dc summer diaries

The infamous Dawson’s Creek summer diaries have started… and ugh, they’re just as awful as I expected. The only time I actually looked forward to and enjoyed reading the diaries was the summer between Seasons 3 and 4… I’m sure you can imagine why. ::looks around wistfully at Pacey/Joey layout:: ;)

Here are some “highlights” –
Dawson, Dawson, Dawson… “Last year, I was the clumsy ingenue, the naive idealist with grandiose plans and no foreseeable means of implementing them. Instead of carving my path and taking the cinematic universe by storm, my admittedly egocentric grandstanding cost me my burgeoning career at the time. But life has fortuitously given me a second chance at this…” — WHAT?!? Dawson still *is* a naive idealist — I mean, come on. Has he gotten over Joey yet? Yeah, didn’t think so. The dream of “Dawson and Joey — soulmates forever” sounds like idealism to me.

Jack::yawn::

Joey… She’s tired of self-analysis yet she writes a poem about whether or not she should take the road less-traveled. Get over yourself, Joey. And wow, the writers thought they were being inventive by not revealing where Joey is spending her summer — is she in Paris? Is she in Capeside or Boston? Will the suspense never end? Heh.

Pacey… I don’t want to hear about any non-G rated adventures he’s having with Audrey. Ugh. But I have to admit I warmed up a bit when he mentioned Dawson… I kinda think it’s nice that they’re actually spending time together. Yes, I’m very much a sucker.

Jen… More of the same “my parents suck,” “I hate rich people” stuff, which I personally hate because the writers just CANNOT do justice to the storyline. Yet here they are… bringing it up again. ::sigh:: Jen deserves so much better.

S2 Buffy is the best

Yay for me — I just bought the second season of BtVS on DVD. :) I can die of happiness now. S2 is definitely one of my favorite seasons — all the Buffy/Angel angst. ::sigh::

I just paid for the trip that Rob and I are taking to Hawaii in August — I can’t believe I charged such a large amount of money on a credit card. Eeek! But whatever, it’ll be great to finally get a chance to relax. I think I deserve to splurge on myself a bit. :P

giles, how i missed you!

Wow, what an amazing episode of Buffy — I feel so emotionally drained from watching it. I love love *loved* seeing Giles again. :) I’ve missed him so much! And since I don’t follow spoilers for the show too closely, I had no idea he was coming back. What a great surprise! I loved the Giles/Anya scenes (and was it just me, or did anybody else sense something between these two?), the Xander/Willow scene at the end, and of course, “Darth Rosenberg.” hee. I wasn’t too crazy about Dawn, though — I used to like her but lately, she really has been a bit annoying. But maybe that’s cause the writers haven’t given her much of a storyline. Eh, whatever the reason — I need her to take her whining off my TV screen. :P And whoa! That ending! I consider myself a Spike fan but I don’t know what to think. Hmm…

dc sucks!

Gah — I’m not even going to say anything about DC cause if you know me by now, then you know I hated it. With a passion. I wish I could say that I am not going to tune in for Season 6. But I’m a glutton for punishment. ::sigh:: And did the closing shot of the episode freak anyone else out? The way the camera captured Joey’s smiling face was creepy.

Anyway, gonna see Star Wars (whee!) in 2 hours!!! The bad thing is that I’m only going to have, like 3 hours of sleep before I have to wake up for work. Ah well.

farewell roswell

Wow… so Roswell’s over. “Graduation” was not the most satisfying season finale but it made me smile, made me cry and it made me remember why I fell in love with the show way back in the good old days of Season 1. I loved the scene between Michael and Maria when he told her that she’s the only one for him, I loved the good-bye scene between Kyle and Valenti, I loved the Max/Michael hug and I adored the fan shout-out with the bumper sticker at the end. ::sigh::

Yay! Star Wars tomorrow at midnight baby! Whee!

DC season 6 – all d/jo, all the time

This pic makes me cry! And yes! I *am* a bitter P/Jer. :P

There was an earthquake here (Northern Cali) tonight! I hate earthquakes. I was taking a nice nap when all of a sudden, there was all this shaking and clattering (all my CDs falling off the shelf). Scary stuff. I think it was 5.2 on the Richter scale. I’m just glad it wasn’t “the big one.” ::shudders at the thought:: My room is still a mess though — papers and CDs all over the floor. I don’t want to clean! Stupid earthquake.

wet tom! yum!

I just saw last night’s episode of Smallville (“Crush”) and can I just be a teeny-bopper for a bit — how HOT was Clark/Tom as he was standing in the rain at the end? ::drool:: Yum! I also really loved all the moments between Clark and Lana. The look between them at the end was so full of angsty goodness. ::sigh:: My favorite quote was from Lex to Clark: “For arguments sake, lets call them Lana and Chloe.” Hee!

So tonight was yet another crap-tastic episode of my favorite show Dawson’s Creek. Very disappointing but at least we got to see Jen. The only redeeming scenes were the ones with her in them. I loved loved loved when she was dancing on the chair to “Teenage Wasteland.” She’s completely adorable. As for the rest of the episode, 1) the Pacey/Alex storyline equals waste of time, 2) Dawson was not the last person who went with Joey to visit her dad in jail, it was actually Pacey (convenient lapse of memory. stupid writers) and 3) Dawson/Joey — well, I think I’ve made it pretty clear that I love these two characters individually and only as friends so really, I have absolutely no interest in their upcoming reunion. I’m in total agreement with Linda — Pacey and Joey had the much more compelling relationship but *of course,* their great love story was sacrificed for the soulmates. My poor little True Lover heart. I don’t care if the original plan for the show was all about the road to Dawson and Joey — Kevin Williamson never even thought that the show would continue past the first season. Times change, characters change — I really think the writers are limiting the creative potential of the show by writing stories that cater to the soulmate storyline but whatever. I’ve thought entirely too much about this.

Must think happy thoughts. :P

[edit: I'm looking for screencaps for Smallville ("Crush") and high quality promo pics for Spider-Man. Help anyone? ]

twiddle dee dee

La la la… today is Tuesday night — otherwise known as TV night for me cause I watch Buffy, Roswell, Gilmore Girls and Smallville. Unfortunately for me, there is also a Lakers game tonight which Rob *must* watch. ::sigh:: So of course I must tape all my shows. Who knows when I’m going to get the chance to watch all of them. Blah.

So, as I am wasting away in my room, I was reading an issue of Rob’s PC Magazine today and there is a really funny article about blogging in it so I thought I would share some of the “tips” that the writer gives –

1. Blog daily. If you miss a day, use the entire next day’s blog entry apologizing profusely. Explain in detail the fascinating adventure you had that caused you to miss a day of blogging. Make sure to rave about how great blogging is and how blogging will change the world.
2. Make sure your blog has a list of your favorite bloggers, and hound them to put your blog on their lists. If you get removed from someone’s list, make a public outcry and demand to be returned to the place of honor, or threaten to take the other blogger’s name off your list.
3. Prove that you’re a dedicated blogger by citing at least five other blogs that you just read. Praise them ad nauseum. Then comment on links that their authors discovered and cut and paste these links to your own blog.

Hee! I know it’s sarcastic but it’s all in good fun — I know I’m guilty of all three, for the most part! lol.
