catching up on everwood…

No new Everwood tonight. So that means I can finally catch up on commenting…

Shoot the Moon
I wasn’t as disturbed by Ephram and Amy applying to colleges near each other as I thought I would be. Sure it’s sweet but to me, it’s also really naive. In real life, most people don’t end up with their high school sweetheart. BUT this is TV *and* it’s Ephram/Amy so I’ll just go with it…

Finally some Ephram/Dr. Abbott interaction! It’s about time. I enjoyed the silly way their scene started (Ephram: “Should I be scared?” Dr. Abbott: “Every day of your life!”) and then I *loved* the touching way that Dr. Abbott complimented Ephram on his gift. Dr. Abbott really showed his vulnerability here by going to Ephram in the first place and basically admitting that he could no longer influence Amy the way that Ephram can.

Dr. Brown was awful in this episode. What was up with him? He should be on a leash. Seriously. I don’t understand why he had to act like such a child during the Colorado A&M tour. UGH.

And as much as I adore Ephram and Amy, I did NOT like that he applied to Princeton for her. Was I supposed to feel touched that he applied for her? Amy has her own mind. Ephram should trust that Amy will make the right decisions for herself.

Best Laid Plans
So now we know that Madison lied. Based on what Ephram told Dr. Jake, he and Madison did have unprotected sex which contradicts what she told Dr. Brown in the s2 finale. Huh. I didn’t like her before and this just confirms my original opinion. Over on TWoP, I read that CBS put Dr. Vegas on hiatus. I guess this means that Sarah Lancaster is free to come back as Madison. I hope it’s sooner than later. I want this Madison/baby storyline to be over with already!

I keep wavering back and forth about a potential Hannah and Bright relationship. On one hand, I think they could be good for each other but at the same time, it just seems too convenient. I’d really love to see them develop a great friendship, though. Bright needs more screen time. Oh, and the ketchup children were too cute!

The ending scene with Ephram and Amy was just… aww. I may not agree with their decisions sometimes (see comments on previous episode above) but they’re IT for me. My OTP. They just make me so happy. And when Ephram gave Amy the necklace? *heart melts*

Fun quotes:
Jake: “How did you know?”
Edna: “Because I am a god.”

Edna: “Ephram Brown is dating Amy Abbott, who is the daughter of Dr. Harold Abbott, who happens to be my son, which makes her my grandaughter.”
Jake: “Wow. It’s like a Greek play.”

Dr. Abbott: “You had to build that soundproof room.”

Edna: “I remember the first time me and Irv tried to–”
Amy: “Oh, no Grandma, no.”

In shallow news…
Gregory Smith *still* needs to cut his hair. It’s distracting!

And Emily VanCamp is *stunning.* I’ve always thought she was beautiful but this season she’s just radiant. Not to mention the fact that she’s been kicking ass in the acting department.

overdue TV post

A looooong overdue TV blog…

Jack & Bobby
I have one more episode to watch before I finally get caught up with this show but I’m still not feeling it. However, I’m shallow and I keep watching for Matt Long. Heh. Although I wish he’d get some better storylines cause the love triangle with Missy and Courtney isn’t very engaging. Especially since I get the feeling I’m supposed to be rooting for Courtney and I’m not. Missy may be a bit flighty but I like her. Still not caring about Grace. But I’m tolerating her because she has scenes with Bradley Cooper! It’s good to see him on TV again. I just hope their relationship isn’t going anywhere further than teacher-student. Also have no interest in Bobby and Dex and their crazy antics. It’s a wonder that I watch this show when I don’t feel anything for the majority of the characters.

One Tree Hill
What’s with Peyton’s hair this season? I don’t like the curly bangs she has going on. I’m also not crazy about the 2 new cast additions, particularly Felix. He can’t act! Michael Copon’s pretty, but wow, is he a bad actor. It’s very distracting. But not distracting enough for me to miss out on the Brooke/Felix/Mouth storyline. Aww. Mouth loves Brooke! Too bad it’ll never happen. Still loving Nathan and Haley, of course. It’ll be interesting to see if Haley’s music career takes off and how it will affect her marriage. I normally like Peyton and Lucas but so far this season, their storylines have been really disappointing. Maybe it’s because they haven’t really been interacting with other Tree Hill regulars so I don’t care as much? Who knows. Thank goodness there’ll be a girl power slumber party next week. That actually looks like fun.

The OC
Squee, it’s back! You guys have no idea how happy the twinkly theme song made me when I heard it. *warm fuzzies* Ryan&Seth=BestFriends4EVAH!!! Ahem. I just loved when Ryan was walking to the cab and Seth was tapping his foot and then he ran to the door… just in time to find Ryan there as well. Aww. I have to say the beginning of the episode was a little slow for me, because I felt like I was just waiting for the payoff of both Ryan and Seth returning to Newport. And yay for continuity — Chyna and her alopecia, the Chrismukkah photo on the fridge, and Captain Oats. I also enjoyed seeing Luke again! I’m really going to miss him this season.

Quote of the episode:
Summer: “What’s his face? Built like a beanpole, curly hair, runs away like a little bitch on his sailboat leaving nothing but a note for his girlfriend who cried and cried over him until the Fourth of July when she decided she doesn’t cry over bitches on boats.” OMG. LOVE. HER.

CSI
Where has David Anders been? I seriously thought I read an article that said he had a 4-episode arc. ??? Oh well. It was cool seeing him on CSI a few episodes ago even if it was for about a minute. And with his regular accent! Anyway, this past week’s episode What’s Eating Gilbert Grisson? was freaking amazing. I liked that they revisited the Blue Paint Killer that eluded the CSIs in the past. The entire episode was really well done — it was suspenseful and seriously disturbing (especially those drawings). The killer gave me the creeps. *shivers* My only qualm about the episode was the ending. I just can’t believe that Brass and Grissom let the killer go to the bathroom. After that, I knew he was going to kill himself. It would have been interesting if he had actually escaped though. He would have made a nice foil for Grissom and the CSIs for at least a little while longer.

More shows to follow… I have to get ready for bed! Ahhh, sleep…

election

I don’t like talking about politics here at my blog — it’s reserved for fangirly squeeing and the occasional rant for the most part — but I just have to say that I’m really shocked at the reactions I’ve been reading on blogs/LJs regarding the presidential election results. It makes me sad and even a little bit upset to see bashing and name-calling from both sides. It’s not going to change anything about the election so what’s the point? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and we have to respect that. No matter what we believe.

That’s probably the first and last time I’ll ever bring up anything related to politics. I try to keep my blog light and free from any serious topics as much as possible. Hence all the fangirliness.

🙂

So I’d like to take this opportunity to rant about work just one more time. My new desk, while bigger with more cabinet space, is right in front of a senior account person, which means she can see my monitor and everything that I do. %$#@! Man. At our old office, my desk was against the wall so I used to check my personal email constantly, log onto LJ, read my dailies during work, etc. Can’t do that anymore. I actually have to work ALL DAY. The horror! Heh.

Must think of happy thoughts like… The OC premiere tomorrow!!! Finally. It’s been like 6 months since the finale. Luckily I have my DVDs to keep me from going through withdrawals, hehe. Can’t wait.

Speaking of TV, I have some serious TV posting to do. *adds to ridiculously long To Do list*

halloween

So it’s back to life as usual.

Riz (my cousin) and Josh (her boyfriend) left on Friday night and although I didn’t get to spend as much time with them as I would have liked, it was fun to finally meet “the boyfriend.” He was nice and funny and really sweet to her… and yes, Riz, I approve. 😉

I also finally figured out my Halloween costume. I ended up going as Hermione (Harry Potter), like I originally wanted. I found a Gryffindor robe and scarf from the boys section of the Halloween store which I wore with a gray plaid skirt, white turtleneck, black knee highs, and black mary janes. I didn’t wear a wig or make my hair all bushy the way Hermione’s is supposed to be so I guess technically, I was just Kelly the Gryffindor. Heh.

My friend Shirley works at Industrial Light and Magic so she got Rob and I tickets to go to their Halloween party. It was fun to see all the creative and elaborate costumes — it was clear that people put real thought into their costumes. (Unlike me and my store-bought costume — hee!) We saw people dressed up as… a gumball machine, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, a house, the Governator, Michael Jackson, Shrek, Legos… pretty much anything and everything you can think of. Seriously. I think my 2 favorites were 1) the giant T-Rex from Jurassic Park (this was amazing — it won the costume contest) and 2) Jango Fett-ish (BWAH!!! This was hilarious — basically a Chippendale’s outfit with the Jango helmet). Oh! and we even saw George Lucas, which was really cool.

Anyway, some pictures…

Click the pictures to see the bigger versions.

This is part of the T-Rex that won the costume prize.

Good times.

meme time

Amazon.com tells me that my OC DVDs are going to be delivered tomorrow. Squee! 😀 So excited.

My cousin and her boyfriend are driving up here from southern California as I type. The two crazies decided to start a 6 hour drive at 9:30pm. Which means that they’ll get here at around 3:30am. And I’ll have to wake up to let them in! And then I’ll have to wake up again just a few hours later to make it to work by 7:30am for a meeting! I really should be in bed by now. Oh well. It’s not like I ever get enough sleep.

Anyway, it’ll be fun to have my cousin over for a few days. I haven’t seen her in months so we’ll get the chance to catch up and I’ll finally get to see if I approve of her boyfriend. Hehe.

I also have to think about my Halloween costume for the party that Rob and I are attending on Saturday. I haven’t dressed up for Halloween in AGES. Probably not since my freshman year in high school. That was 1993. !!! Geesh. It’s been a loooong time. I was actually thinking about being Hermione (from Harry Potter) but I don’t know if I’ll be able to find the right robes and stuff. I’ve never been original when it comes to costumes anyway so I’ll probably just buy the first cute thing I see when I head to the Halloween store tomorrow night.

pity party

I feel like screaming and throwing things right now. Last week was a bust (all that damn work crap) and I don’t know that this week will get any better.

UGH. What’s wrong with me? I can’t seem to find the bright side in anything right now. < /dramatic>

this week sucks

This week is crummy.

So my office is moving (out of gorgeous downtown San Francisco! *sob*) this week so I’ve had to pack my desk/computer/files while at the same time, trying to keep up with regular work. NOT. FUN. Especially today when I realized that I needed a file that I had already packed. And there was no way that I was going to wade through 25 boxes of files just to find it.

Then I find out from my boss that I’m going to be taking over another job after the move because my company is too cheap to hire a replacement. (She didn’t say that but I know that’s the reason). So essentially they want me to do 2 jobs. I don’t even think there’s enough time in the day… my current workload keeps me busy as it is so to add even more responsibilities? UGH. If I’m going to be expected to work late, there better be some kind of increase to my salary.

AND it turns out that we’re going to have new “dress guidelines” for work. I used to be able to wear whatever I wanted — jeans, tees, sneakers. But now they want us to wear business attire every day. !!! So now I need to buy a few more black pants and some button-up shirts. Fantastic. I don’t even like shopping for work clothes. They’re so boring. Blah.

Work sucks. I wish I could somehow get paid for staying at home and watching TV. That would be an awesome job. Heh.

tv meme

It’s sad that I need a meme to force me to blog… I seem to have blogger’s block. Or whatever it’s called.

sacrifice

Some comments on Sacrifice (I’ve been *so* bad about writing down my thoughts on the episodes lately)…

“Pre-teens gone wild!” — Hee! I really liked the teaser… I thought it was hysterical seeing Andy all riled up about Delia kissing.

Poor Bright. I love B/E’s friendship! I don’t want to see it crumble! As much as I love Ephram, I really think he dropped the ball. I know Ephram’s totally focused on piano/Juilliard/Amy but it’s so sad to think that he can’t even make time to hang out with Bright. The scene when Bright returns the keys to Ephram broke my heart. 🙁

Ahhh, so Nina loves Andy! Like we all didn’t see that coming, hee. I really want those two to get together but I kinda wish that it was Andy who came to the realization first because 1) I think Nina/Jake could have been interesting for awhile and 2) I would have loved to see Andy try to woo Nina! That said, the Andy/Nina/Amanda triangle that seems to be shaping up has me intrigued — I didn’t want to like Anne Heche in the role but I did!

On a shallow note, I loved Amy’s outfit when she was holding the “hooker thong.” The olive bomber jacket and the red headband — so cute!

Anyone know why there’s a rerun next week?
