tom and katie

I’m back from Michigan. *sigh* Vacation’s are never long enough…

I’m still reeling over the fact that Constantine was eliminated from American Idol over Scott. SCOTT. I’m blaming it all on Vote for the Worst. ARGH.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are dating?!? Pictures here, here and video here. Huh. Who woulda thunk it?

WHY are there like 50 commercial breaks during Grey’s Anatomy? Very annoying.

Doing the Fannish Friday Five

What 5 media (books/movies/tv show) universes would you want to visit if they were real?
1. Harry Potter
2. 24
3. Dawson’s Creek
4. Star Wars (I want R2D2 to be my droid!)
5. Anne of Green Gables

24 again

After 4 hours of 24 in 2 days, having a week between episodes will probably seem like ages.

Anyway, very quick comments on the 9-11am hours…

Jack and the gas station robbery — I’m wavering back and forth between liking and disliking this move. I do admit it was a good way for Jack to get Kalil’s name, phone, wallet, etc. without rousing suspicion but it took waaaayyy too long. Jack was in the gas station for almost the *entire* hour waiting for Chloe to position the satellites. And when he finally gets out, I can’t believe he didn’t anticipate the police roadblock. Come on Jack!

I’m not liking CTU much this season. I enjoy Chloe and Curtis but I don’t care at all for Driscoll, Sarah, Edgar, or Marianne (and I normally like Aisha Tyler — speaking of which, she has had some awesome roles this season — first CSI, now this). I mean, does everyone at CTU need to be so catty and annoying?

The best part of these episodes was the Araz family, particularly Mrs. Araz. She seriously freaks me out; I just love watching her. I think I felt a chill go down my spine as she was walking up the staircase while Behrooz was leaning over Debbie’s dead body (she killed her with iced tea!). I wouldn’t ever want to cross her path.

It’s good to have Kiefer back on TV.

Is it sad that I’m totally bummed about Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt splitting up?! I thought they would be the Hollywood couple that beat the odds. So, so sad.

back to the daily grind

So it’s my first day back to work and I’m there until 8pm. !!! DIE DIE DIE. I’m still jet-lagged and all I wanted to do was go home and rest and watch 24. Is this too much to ask?

Anyway, I’m trying to catch up on all the pop culture gossip/TV spoilers/fandom fun that happened while I’ve been gone and WOW… lots of stuff. Little Miss Joey Potter (Katie Holmes) has gotten herself engaged. Aww. Don’t really have much of an opinion on Chris Klein but I think they make an adorable couple. Both beautiful and all that. And hee! I have to admit, I’m a huge fan of Britney Spears but seriously, what is wrong with her?!? Getting married? And it was a practical joke? Eeep.

Speaking of Britney, Rob and I are *pissed* that we didn’t get tickets to her upcoming tour. We both thought the tickets were going to be sold a bit later than they were so we missed it! Grrr. I was really looking forward to it. :D

A little 2003 survey that I thieved from Christie:

Hmm… I still have to take down the Christmas tree. I’m so lazy. *g*

my poor ears

Gah, who decided it would be a good idea to have disco night on American Idol? Cause seriously, my ears are not happy. It was torture sitting through most of it. I did like Kim L, Clay and Ruben but everyone else was just… meh. I especially found Kim C and Josh to be completely boring — they didn’t hold my attention at all. I’m thinking they’ll both be in the bottom two tomorrow. Speaking of the results show, does anyone know if they’re actually going to eliminate someone now that Corey is gone? Or are they just going through the motions of the show and then let everyone breathe a sigh of relief when they find out they’ve all been given a free pass to the next round? Hmmm. I wouldn’t put the latter past the AI producers. And geesh, AI has been all about the scandal this year — Frenchie and her nude pictures, that one guy who was found to be connected to a murder, Trenyce’s sticky fingers, and now Corey’s charges for assault. Wow. Those AI/Fox people are really doing in-depth background checks. Damn.

Anyway, is it just me or do other people also get emotional (for the lack of a better word) when they hear sad things about the personal lives of celebrities? I just read a short article about Jennifer Garner and Scott Foley splitting up and it made me so sad. I find them to be such a delightful couple — in interviews, they come across as very loving and supportive. It’s unfortunate that their work, if the speculation in the article is true, had to come between them. :(
