youtube

Gah, I think I’ve become addicted to YouTube.

I found a link to the Ephram/Amy “I Love You” scene (I adore this scene — it’s just so simple and beautiful) so I began looking around for more Everwood videos. I stumbled upon a fantastic Ephram/Amy fanvideo that goes through some of their greatest moments as friends and then as a couple. SQUEE. So awesome.

But the BEST thing I found on YouTube (not Everwood-related) is this Star Wars-related clip from an episode of Robot Chicken. It’s of Darth Vader calling Emperor Palpatine and it is HILARIOUS. Watch it here.

BWAHAHAHA.

Anyway, I wanted to share my current “song of the moment” with you all. Enjoy.

Nelly Furtado ft. Timbaland – Promiscuous

YAY Miami! 😀

lake house

Ahhh, it was a great weekend. It’s beginning to feel like summer in the Bay Area. I loved it.

On Saturday, I went into the city to meet Nicola for breakfast (or I guess it was lunch since it was around 11am). We went over to the Farmer’s Market at the Ferry Building, grabbed some breakfast sandwiches and took them over to the benches that overlooked the Bay. It was absolutely gorgeous. *happy sigh*

After a walk over to Union Square, I went dress shopping. I have 2 weddings to attend this summer (one of them in 2 weeks!) so I was on a mission. My cousin’s wedding isn’t for another month but I had to look for a dress in a particular color (sage green). That eliminates about 99% of all dresses. I started the dress search back in April so it’s been a frustrating couple of months, lol. But I finally found one! YES. Surprisingly, it’s strapless (I NEVER thought I would find a flattering strapless dress) but the best part is that it has a fun, swing-y skirt. Awww. I never did find a dress for the wedding that’s in 2 weeks so I just ordered a bunch online… I’m crossing my fingers that one of them will work. Guh.

In pop culture matters, I also saw 2 movies this weekend…

Lake House
This wasn’t a *great* movie but Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock made it work for me. I spent the entire movie wanting them to get together, hehe. I haven’t seen a good chick flick in awhile so this fit the bill.

Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
Rob and I have had this movie from Netflix since APRIL. BWAH. We just never got around to watching it. I ended up really enjoying it… except for the fact that I didn’t like any of the kids! Well ok, I take that back, I liked Peter but that’s it. The other 3 bugged me so much. I don’t remember having that kind of a reaction to them while reading the book. ??? I guess it’s time for a reread.

I’ve also been meaning to finish up my season finale commentaries… this is my goal before the summer is over. 😀

Vacation Update: Rob renewed his passport so it looks like we might be headed out of the country. *pumps fist*

chris and emily

I missed So You Think You Can Dance? tonight but luckily, I have this video to keep me entertained. It’s Dick from VM and Felix from OTH… DANCING! Hehehehe. Thanks Amanda for sharing.

I was also cruising through LJ and found this really cute picture of Emily VanCamp and Chris Pratt —

Awww.

And then I saw this picture —

As cute as they are, they’ll always be Bright and Amy Abbott to me. SIBLINGS.

I miss Everwood.

vacation

I *really* want to take a week off from work and go on vacation this year… but where to?

Rob and I tossed the idea of Hawaii around. But we’ve been to Oahu twice together already. We thought maybe we’d check out a different island (neither of us have been to the Big Island) but I’m not sold. I LOVE Hawaii but we were just there last year so I’m thinking we should try a different destination.
I really want to go to New York (I went when I was about 9 or 10 and I don’t remember a thing) but HOLY MOLY, hotels are INSANELY expensive. If I’m going to spend that much money, I’d rather head to a destination outside of the US.

I’ve been to the major cities in Europe (Rome, London, Paris, Amsterdam, etc. but only for 2-3 days at a time) and Rob’s never been so this might be a great opportunity to experience Europe together. I figured we could pick one city and really spend the week exploring and relaxing instead of visiting 2 cities and cramming all the activities into a few days. Is that a good idea? Or should we just wait to hit Europe when we have at least 2 weeks?

Argh. I don’t know. Anyone have any suggestions? We’re aiming to take our vacation in October. I wish it were October right now.

And to answer a few questions from my previous post… I’m taking my ballet classes at an actual studio. I can’t imagine taking a ballet class at a gym! I started taking lessons when I was 4 and took multiple classes a week until I was about 15. I actually thought for awhile that I was going to be a professional ballet dancer when I “grew up.” It wasn’t until I was 13, when I was auditioning for apprenticeships at various companies, that I realized 1) I didn’t have the ideal body type (I heard this more times than I care to remember) and 2) dancers have a tough life (competitive atmosphere, money is tight). At that point, I decided to stop training and just take classes for fun. That didn’t happen, though, since “high school life” took over (ie. pep squad, clubs, homework). I’ve wanted to take classes again for years now but was too lazy, lol. I’m trying to be more active now, which is hard since I’m not a huge fan of the gym. I figure that at least with ballet, I’m getting exercise AND I enjoy it. Not bad. 😀

ballet

I just took my first ballet class in 10 years.

HOLY CRAP. I think my body hates me. I’m going to be so sore in the morning. EEK.

foreverwood

Oh man, the series finale of Everwood just about killed me.

*sob*

I want to watch the episode again before doing commentary so let me leave you all with the song that played during the amazingly beautiful Ephram/Amy montage —

George is Jones – Ruins

I’m going to miss this show so much. 🙁

season finales, part 2

OMG, I am so exhausted. It was a fun but really tiring weekend. On Saturday, a friend and I went up to the Vacaville outlets (on the way to Sacramento from the Bay Area)… it was so HOT, about 95 degrees! I was dying. And sadly, I didn’t buy a thing. Then on Sunday, I went in to San Francisco for a denim sample sale. I LOVE jeans. I tried on a TON and only came away with one. What a disappointment. But then, I’m just glad I was able to get a few over my big hips. Heh.

Anyway.

My season finales commentary… continued (again, SPOILERS ARE AHEAD)…

24
I’m such a 24 junkie. You totally have to suspend belief while watching (ie. Evelyn managing to record the incriminating conversation between the President and Henderson and Miles deleting the recording with what looked like a laser pointer) but I’m willing. I love Jack! I was so glad when Logan got his comeuppance in the finale. *pumps fist* Jack showed you with his super-spy pen. HAH! And the smirks that Mike and Martha threw Logan’s way were pretty awesome. But was it just me or did we never get resolution on who (or what group/company) orchestrated the events of the day? Not Logan but the men with the earpieces who were ordering Logan around? I don’t remember finding out what their motives were. Or maybe I wasn’t paying enough attention. Oh well, I guess it doesn’t matter now that Logan is in custody and Jack is headed to China (EEK!).

Prison Break
So nothing really happened in the finale. I have to admit I was kinda disappointed. Well… sure, T-Bag had his hand cut off, Sara overdosed (she can’t be dead, right? RIGHT?), and the VP has taken control… but in terms of the escapees, they didn’t really get anywhere. OMG, it’s so frustrating! They aren’t much farther than they were at the end of the penultimate episode. And now they have no plane! Damn. I do like the tension that was created between Scofield and Pope, though. The warden is PISSED. That’s a great driving force for the second season.

CSI
SARA AND GRISSOM. What?! I can’t decide if I want them in a relationship anymore. :/ It wasn’t as great a finale as last season but it was decent. I’m SO glad Brass didn’t get killed off. The show wouldn’t be the same without him. It was nice to see Ellie again too. I didn’t realize until this episode that the actress also plays Louise on the Gilmore Girls. I knew she looked familiar. Yeah, I’m a little slow on the uptake. 😀

Now I’m off to watch the series finale of Everwood. *sob*

season finales, part 1

AWESOME. So You Think You Can Dance? has premiered. Oh man, I love this show.

I’m finally getting around to blogging about this season’s finales (most of these finales aired weeks ago but just in case, SPOILERS ARE AHEAD)…

Grey’s Anatomy
AMAZING finale. Too bad it was ruined by my ANGER at Izzie. Argh. She frustrated me so much. I realize her actions were motivated by love but OMG, she had her crazy face on. I never thought that Denny would survive (it just didn’t make sense in terms of the story) so I wasn’t suprised when he died. It did break my heart, though. I wouldn’t call myself a Denny/Izzie fan but watching her break down in tears pained me. But I loved, loved, loved when Alex picked her up off the bed… it was such a beautiful gesture. But then I’ve loved everything about Alex recently (despite his assiness). Cristina disappointed me a little bit with her inability to be supportive of Burke (*sob* I hope his hand is okay) but the big disappointment was the Meredith/Derek love triangle ending. I’m so over them. And I’m a Mer/Der fan. They almost killed the finale for me.

America’s Next Top Model
Loved that both Joanie and Danielle were in the final 2. I would have been so pissed if Jade had made it that far. I was already pissed that she was in the final 3! I think I was rooting for Joanie just a tad bit more but I’m satisfied with Danielle winning. They both took absolutely gorgeous pictures. Overall, though, I think this cycle was kinda… meh. No one really stood out to me (well, except for Jade but she stood out for all the wrong reasons). Even Joanie and Danielle don’t seem to have that “it” quality. In person, they just don’t come across like models. But then, a couple of the past winners didn’t strike me as having model qualities either (ie. Naima and Nicole). Oh well, I’ve never thought that ANTM actually produced real models anyway.

Veronica Mars
So it was Beaver. He did exhibit some questionable behavior throughout the season so I can buy it. I liked him, though… when I thought he was just a shy teenager who was bullied around. Now? Not so much. He orchestrated the bus crash. And if that’s not enough, he raped Veronica. !!! *shudders* Poor Veronica. I was crying with her when she confronted Beaver about the rape. And while I’m not a Logan/Veronica fan, I did love the way he was so protective of her in that rooftop scene but their reunion gave me whiplash. It wasn’t too long ago that Veronica walked away from him with tears streaming down her face. Plus, I would rather *see* them get to the point where they can be in a relationship instead of watching flashbacks of their summer together in the season 3 premiere. As for the rest of the finale, I thought anything involving Jackie was unnecessary (her storyline should have been resolved in previous episodes) and my favorite scene was Duncan’s brief conversation with Clarence Wiedman and their reference to the CW. Hehe! I’m worried about Weevil, though… I hope his arrest doesn’t mean he won’t be around next season. 🙁

Aaaaannnnnddd I have about 10 other finales to write about but it’s time for bed. 😀

summer blockbusters

Aahhh, 3 day weekends are so awesome.

I’ve been watching movies like a crazy person (possible spoilers ahead)…

Mission Impossible:3
What a fun movie. There’s really no story to speak of… but there’s a ton of action and really, that’s all that matters. 😀 I even managed to get over my Tom Cruise issues and remembered why I used to love him. He does have that slightly crazy grin but he’s really a fantastic actor. But Jonathan Rhys Meyers was probably the highlight of the movie for me. I’m so shallow. He was in the majority of the movie and had a few comedic moments. *drool* It was also good to see Keri Russell again. She is incredibly gorgeous. It’s too bad she was barely in the movie. 🙁 Anyway, yay for JJ Abrams! He delivered a great movie. And of course, it wouldn’t be a JJ project without a cameo from Greg Grunberg! Heh.

The Da Vinci Code
I was really looking forward to this movie and unfortunately, it was a little disappointing. Tom Hanks completely didn’t match up to the Robert Langdon I imagined while reading the book. 🙁 I think Tom Hanks played it safe and made Langdon kinda boring. He didn’t own the character or make him unique. I’m having a hard time remembering his performance… it just wasn’t that memorable. Audrey Tautou (she’s so pretty!) and Ian McKellan, though, were great (but then again, when hasn’t Ian McKellan been great?). There were only a few subtle changes in the film translation, which I didn’t even pick up on until I started rereading the book. I do think that reading the book will help in following the movie, if only because there are so many historical and religious references that would have gone over my head otherwise. Or maybe I just didn’t pay enough attention in school. 😀 This is entirely possible.

X-Men 3: The Last Stand
Didn’t love this one as much as X2. It was still fun, though. And still much better than the first movie. I liked the additions of Kitty Pryde and the Beast and I was happy to see Iceman and Pyro (SQUEE!) again. Rogue continued to annoy, however (and I LIKE Anna Paquin). But I CANNOT(!!!) believe they killed off the Professor, Jean, AND Cyclops all in the same movie. *sob* Especially Cyclops. I love James Marsden. AND they stripped Magneto and Mystique of their powers. WTFOMG. I guess the Wolverine spin-off is up next… I just don’t see how they can do another X-Men movie with everyone gone.

I totally want to see Over the Hedge And I still have to watch Stick It. 😛

more upfronts

I’m back… had a good weekend in So Cal. Didn’t do much. Just spent time with my family and enjoyed the sun. 😀

Anyway, I realized I haven’t taken a look at the new schedules for CBS, FOX, and the CW yet…

CBS
I don’t watch anything on CBS besides CSI so I’m happy. 😛 If I get the chance next season, though, I would like to check out The Unit. I’ve heard some excellent things about the show… plus, Dennis Haysbert and Scott Foley! YES.

FOX
Again, I don’t watch anything else on FOX besides The OC, which I’m tempted to give up on because I’ve heard spoilers about the finale that I’m not too happy about. I’m hoping I’ll get the chance to watch it this weekend. Anyway, it might be an easier decision than I thought since it looks like both CSI and Grey’s Anatomy are also going to be on Thursdays at 9pm. Ooohh, I think I want to check out Justice. If only because I fully support Victor Garber and Kerr Smith. 😀 Notice a pattern here? I’m barely skimming the show descriptions… it only piques my interest when I recognize an actor’s name. Hehe.

The CW
I’m still peeved about 7th Heaven getting renewed after it had it’s *series* finale. 🙁 Other than that, there aren’t really any surprises on the CW schedule… besides Everwood, all the other shows I watch (ie. OTH, GG, VM, etc.) got renewed. I am kinda excited to see that Everybody Hates Chris is moving to Sundays, though. Hopefully I’ll get the chance to catch an episode from time to time. I only caught the pilot episode, which I really enjoyed, but I’ve only heard good things about the show.

So that’s it then. Season finale comments coming soon. 😀
