boredom

My blog seems to have caught a case of “Boring” these past few days…

Anyway, just wanted to wish my best friend Robyn a very Happy Birthday! Hope you had a great day! 🙂

rent trailer!

Thanks to Sarah’s head’s up, I found and downloaded the Rent trailer. All I have to say is…

SQUEE. It is seriously AMAZING. There’s no dialogue (just clips pieced together with Seasons of Love playing over it) but it’s one powerful trailer… *sigh* I cannot wait til November. But for now, watching the trailer over and over and over will suffice. 😛

Quick meme…
1. Current fandoms: Everwood and Dawson’s Creek (yes, still). I consider myself a part of many other fandoms but I find it hard to really get involved. Fandoms can be SCARY.
2. My first fandom ever: Dawson’s Creek
3. My most recent fandoms: Grey’s Anatomy, Lost
4. 5 Fandoms that mean a lot to me: Dawson’s Creek, Everwood, Felicity, Roswell, and BtVS

I may get a chance to add Veronica Mars to the list of my many fandoms — apparently UPN really is rerunning season 1 starting June 14. I’m gonna see if the show actually lives up to the hype. Then I won’t feel so out of the loop anymore, lol.

Lastly, just wanted to share that Jennifer put up a new layout at High Anxiety and I’ve finally installed a new gallery… hope you all like the new look!

book challenge

Book Challenge update…

May
15. Boy Meets Girl by Meg Cabot, 387 p
Really cute chick-lit book. It was a little hard at first to get used to the way it was written — rather than a first person narrative, it was written through emails, memos, diary entries, etc. But I think the story made up for the novelty… Plus, I completely fell in love with the main character’s love interest, hee!
16. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares, 304 p
I was sucked in by those darn commercials for the movie that I kept seeing while watching Gilmore Girls. Loved all the characters (especially Carmen and Bridget) but thought that their summer stories were wrapped up a little too neatly. I’ll probably pick up the second book out of curiosity. And possibly watch the movie too. 😛

Next up is Memoirs of a Geisha recommended to me by Barry. 🙂

Moving sucks. Especially the cleaning. It’s driving me insane. Please remind me to never move again. Or at least to hire movers so I won’t have to do anything at all.

Brief TV comments…
One Tree Hill
I think I’m done with the show after the season finale on Tuesday. Nathan/Haley and Lucas/Peyton have officially been ruined for me. I don’t know how the writers could ever go back without my feeling a little resentment for what’s happened this season. Especially since Haley, one of my favorite characters, is like a shell of her former self. (I don’t even want to get into the promo for the finale in which Haley is seen with Chris — I might explode). There were some hints of Nathan/Peyton in What Could Have Been and I might be able to get behind that pairing… if I stick around.

Alias
SpyMommy is back!!! But what about Sark?!

CSI
The Quentin Tarantino-directed finale was quite possibly one of the best episodes of the entire series. I was seriously speechless when it ended. It was very intense and heartwrenching — George Eads owned.

America’s Next Top Model
No surprise here. I hoped that Tyra and the judges would prove me wrong and Kahlen would win but I wasn’t holding my breath. Still a little disappointed that Naima won, however.

Back to work tomorrow. Damn. 😛

star wars episode III

Loved Star Wars. I’m sure I’ll watch it again when I can focus on the movie and not on staying awake. (I still can’t believe I went to the midnight showing knowing I had work the next day).

Comments on the movie later… after I catch up on sleep. 😛

jack & bobby finale

Still moving. I’ll be so happy in 2 weeks when it’s all over.

I’m waaayyy behind on my TV shows but I have caught a few episodes here and there…

Jack & Bobby
I guess Berlanti and Schlamme had no faith that the show would be renewed because the finale really felt like the end. And they ended up being right, sadly. It’s too bad because I thought the show had hit a great stride and I was looking forward to what was to come in the second season. Oh well. At least the (series) finale really delivered for me as a Jack fan (I’ve long thought he’s been a bit shafted with regards to significant storylines). I loved seeing him meet his father (I got so choked up in those scenes) and also enjoyed learning about his future as a public defender and later as a Congressman. Looking back at my initial thoughts on the show, I never would have imagined that I would be sad about its cancellation. Stupid WB! I just hope the show is someday released on DVD.

NOOOO!!! NOT. TONY. $#@! OF COURSE, after Tony and Michelle get it together (aww, they kissed!), they have Tony go out in the field and get taken hostage. Argh. And by MANDY! Wowzers. I seriously gasped when I saw Mia Kirshner. That was a damn good surprise.

American Idol
Final 2 will be Bo and Carrie.

It looks the Network Upfronts have started this week and so far, there’s not too much to be happy about…

ABC
They moved Alias to Thursdays?!? WHY?!? It was so great following Lost. UGH. And they picked up a sitcom starring Freddie Prinze, Jr? Huh.

NBC
Very weak line-up. There’s 2 versions of The Apprentice for goodness sake! (Although I have to admit I am contemplating checking out the Martha Stewart version, hee). Plus, they moved The West Wing to Sundays. Lame.

WB
They cancelled Jack & Bobby. GRR. AND THEN they MOVED One Tree Hill to Wednesdays at 8 (what?!) and also MOVED Smallville and Everwood to Thursdays (double what?!?). I thought all 3 shows worked well on their current nights. *grumble, grumble*

Anyway, Star Wars tomorrow! I’m so excited. 😀

a good one tree hill episode?

Rob and I moved our TV and Tivo to our new apartment last weekend and OMG, it is *so* boring without a TV in our room. How am I supposed to watch all my shows?! I’m such a TV junkie. I swear, the thing is always on. I’ve had to download all my shows this week and have barely had the chance to watch any of them but I DID catch a few shows…

American Idol
LOVED Bo. And surprisingly, Anthony as well. The girls were… average. Not really surprised that Anthony was eliminated — the vote was bound to be between him and Vonzell. She’ll be the one to go next week, though. I can’t imagine the producers allowing anything but a Bo and Carrie showdown.

One Tree Hill
OMG. Probably the best episode of the season. Really. It *almost* makes this disappointing season seem worth it. Almost. The alternate universe was great — so many nods to the first season (Haley’s hat, the N/H bracelet scene, Nathan wearing Lucas’s grey hoodie, Peyton’s Ramones t-shirt), and the characters were actually true to character, if that makes any sense. I mean, Haley was the smart, witty, and grounded girl I loved in the first season (too bad the “new” Haley appeared at the end, though) and Brooke was the fun and flighty cheerleader (who didn’t get lots of screentime, thank goodness — oh, the benefits of being Mrs. CMM!). Plus, how much did I love that Nathan and Haley were MEANT2B even in the alternate universe?! Aww. That was the best. James Lafferty and Chad Michael Murray also did a great job switching roles. I think I may have even liked JL’s version of “Lucas” better! I’m actually looking forward to the finale now.

Got tickets to see the midnight showing of Star Wars next week. SQUEE.

More moving this weekend. Oh joy.

hp and the goblet of fire trailer

The Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire trailer is online. So. Much. SQUEE. The shots of the trio from the past movies are so cute. Plus, the Harry/Hermione shipper in me loved seeing Hermione yell for Harry when he was fighting the dragon (or at least, I think — it was a very brief shot). Aww. I can’t wait for November.

On a sad note, it looks like American Dreams has been cancelled (this is Chad Darnell’s blog — a guy who used to work on casting for the show — he also works on Lost and Alias so his entries are always fun to read). 🙁 I’m so disappointed in NBC. But even more than that, I’m really sad that the season finale ended up being the series finale. It just doesn’t feel right to have the show end with Meg leaving the way she did. *sigh* There’s no other way to say it so… this sucks.

I started making caps of my Dawson’s Creek season 5 DVDs for High Anxiety and wow, it’s kinda painful, lol. This is my least favorite season — horrible storylines and annoying new characters (Karen, Professor Wilder) — make these episodes tough for me to watch again. However, I’m actually warming up to Audrey again (her downward spiral in season 6 really killed the character for me) and also enjoying Charlie, played by none other than Chad Michael Murray. Hee. But maybe that’s because I keep thinking he’s Lucas from One Tree Hill, except with hair. But I’ve only watched the first 2 episodes so we’ll see how the rest of it goes…
Hope everyone’s having a great weekend!
