24 again

After 4 hours of 24 in 2 days, having a week between episodes will probably seem like ages.

Anyway, very quick comments on the 9-11am hours…

Jack and the gas station robbery — I’m wavering back and forth between liking and disliking this move. I do admit it was a good way for Jack to get Kalil’s name, phone, wallet, etc. without rousing suspicion but it took waaaayyy too long. Jack was in the gas station for almost the *entire* hour waiting for Chloe to position the satellites. And when he finally gets out, I can’t believe he didn’t anticipate the police roadblock. Come on Jack!

I’m not liking CTU much this season. I enjoy Chloe and Curtis but I don’t care at all for Driscoll, Sarah, Edgar, or Marianne (and I normally like Aisha Tyler — speaking of which, she has had some awesome roles this season — first CSI, now this). I mean, does everyone at CTU need to be so catty and annoying?

The best part of these episodes was the Araz family, particularly Mrs. Araz. She seriously freaks me out; I just love watching her. I think I felt a chill go down my spine as she was walking up the staircase while Behrooz was leaning over Debbie’s dead body (she killed her with iced tea!). I wouldn’t ever want to cross her path.

It’s good to have Kiefer back on TV.

Is it sad that I’m totally bummed about Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt splitting up?! I thought they would be the Hollywood couple that beat the odds. So, so sad.

24 is back!

Squee! 24 is back. How I missed Jack Bauer.

It was a little weird at first not recognizing any characters but Jack and Chloe (I’m still mourning the loss of Tony and Michelle this season) but the episode was so fast-paced and exciting and the new characters were so engaging that I forgot all about it. I already have a large amount of hate for Driscoll, am intrigued by the Araz family (the mom is seriously creepy!), and I can’t wait to learn more about Audrey and Curtis. The only storyline that I just can’t get behind is the whole Behrooz/Debbie relationship. Or maybe I just can’t warm to it because the character of Debbie comes off as entirely too needy and whiny. I can just tell she’s going to get on my nerves. Girl, your boyfriend’s a terrorist, just back off already!

Loved hearing about Kim and Chase moving to Valencia. Hee. Didn’t love that we didn’t learn anything about what Michelle’s been doing. I know Tony’s in prison but Michelle?! Where is she? Humph.

Can’t wait for tomorrow’s episodes!

24 season finale

Loved the 24 season finale. Would say more but my head hurts and I’m fighting to stay awake just to watch Dan Radcliffe (aka Harry Potter) on Conan. Shut up. He’s adorable!

I will say this though… No 24 until January?!? Guh. FOX kills me.

Oh! Thanks everyone for the awesome comments on the layout. *mwah* :D

tv catch-up

I’ve only fixed the php coding on 2 of my fanlistings and I’m already getting lazy. *yawn*

So, of course, I decided to play a little catch-up with my TV commentaries…

American Idol
Wow. That’s really all I can say. I was *so* surprised that LaToya, Fantasia and Jennifer comprised the bottom three. I was secretly hoping it would have been Fantasia, Diana and John. Le sigh. I guess that means I’ll have to endure those three for another few weeks. I’m still shocked that Jennifer was eliminated. I didn’t really like her at the beginning of the finals but she’s grown on me. She consistently did better and better each week and I don’t really think she deserved to go. But AI really is just one big popularity contest these days. Oh, and making George pick the top group was SO cruel and tacky. Ugh. The poor guy. The 3 divas were all cheering and then to find out that they’re the bottom three? Evil.

Smallville
I only managed to see the first half hour because I switched over to FOX to watch the horror that is American Idol. I wish I hadn’t. What I saw of Truth was excellent — it was Chloe-focused and she was totally rocking that truth serum. Plus, Pete! He likes Chloe! Aww. I have to download this episode — it’s killing me that I don’t know what happened at the end, lol.

24
The only thing that would have made this episode better for me would have been more Michelle. Is it just me or is it a little unrealistic that she’s not yet showing symptoms of the virus? I mean, she’s been walking around the hotel exposing herself to it! And so many of the hotel guests already have nose bleeds. Maybe I’m just trying to be optimistic. *crosses fingers for Michelle* The best part of the episode was when Kim, Jack and Tony were in the conference room screaming at each other about the operation. Talk about tense! I’ve enjoyed Kim this season so I’m hoping that the writers don’t turn her into a hopeless victim again in the next few hours. And didn’t it seem like Chapelle’s death just happened and nobody really absorbed it? That was really jarring. Anyway, yay for the official renewal for season 4!

One Tree Hill
Ok, so I’m firmly on board the Peyton-love train now. I just loved all her interaction with Jake and Jenny and her smackdown of Nikki — “All the eyeliner in the world doesn’t not make you into a psycho-stalker bitch!” OMG, Peyton rocks. I’ve also done a complete turn-around on Brooke. I thought she was tons of fun when she didn’t care what anyone else thought about her. But now, with the whole lying to Lucas about the pregnancy thing? I’m just not feeling her anymore. I know she’s hurting but the whole lie was just too calculated for me to have any kind of sympathy for her. Still loving Nathan and Haley (they *lurve* each other!) and Dan is still an evil, evil man. I can’t believe he told Lucas that he wanted Karen to have an abortion. But I almost felt sorry for him at the end when he was looking at Lucas’s pictures. Almost.

I also watched The O.C. and Friends but I think I’ve rambled on long enough. *g* Plus, I need to start cleaning my apartment. My cousin is coming to visit next week and this place is not ready for guests. Eeek!

24 is back!

YES! 24 is back. *huggles 24*

Some potentially spoiler-y comments…

Too bad 24′s return is coupled with Michelle/Tony angst. :( I love them so, so much (well, maybe I’m biased because it’s TONY) and I can’t stand to see them so sad. If TPTB kill off Michelle with that crazy virus, I will be a very unhappy camper. At least she’s letting her inner bitch out in the meantime. I was totally rooting for her to shoot the guy in the hotel — he was going to let the virus out! Silly civilian.

Still not caring about President Palmer’s storyline. What a big yawn-fest. DB Woodside is quite the looker though. Heh. ;)

As for the other FOX show that I watched tonight, thank goodness American Idol is only an hour now. No more fluff pieces! But horror of horrors, the guest judges are back. Blah. They always bore me and have nothing to say that any of the regular 3 haven’t said. Oh well. On a positive note, I think I’ve found my 2 favorites — George and Jasmine! They both totally “wowed” me tonight, yay! Too bad I don’t think either really have a chance to win since to me it seems like we’re headed for a LaToya versus Fantasia final two. Though I really, really hope not. Anyway.

Just because it was fun to do this last week…
My predictions for the bottom 3 are — Camile, John and Jon. With Camile packing her bags.

mid-season wrap up

Since it’s close to hiatus time, I thought I would do a little mid-season commentary of all the shows I started to watch this season…

Monday
Everwood – My saving grace this season. The show has continually gotten better and better with each episode. I may not necessarily like the direction of some storylines (Ephram/Madison and Andy/Linda) but I appreciate that the characters are being true to themselves. I do miss Colin, though. *sniff*

Las Vegas – Truly a guilty pleasure. :D It’s not really a great show plot-wise or anything (it’s usually downright predictable) but I think it’s a lot of fun. Plus, Josh Duhamel!!! LOVE him. He’s adorable.

Skin – I didn’t even get the chance to watch a whole episode before it got axed by FOX. I recorded the pilot (never got around to watching it and I probably taped over it) and watched about 15 minutes of the second episode. What I saw had potential though I didn’t fall in love. I enjoyed Adam Roam however. *g*

Tuesday
Gilmore Girls – I haven’t been watching this show faithfully like I used to. This season hasn’t grabbed me at all. I don’t really enjoy Digger or Marty and I wish there was more Lane and Paris. And as much as I love Rory, the girl is getting on my nerves.

One Tree Hill – OMG. New obsession. The show didn’t jump out at me right away but I kept watching (pretty much only because it airs right after GG and 24 hadn’t premiered yet). After a few episodes, the show seemed to find its legs so to speak — the improved writing has made me care about these characters. I’ve also found my ship of the season on this show — Nathan/Haley. LOVE. :)

24 – Still on my “must watch” list. But it still consistently gets me frustrated. I’m frustrated with Jack’s stubbornness, I’m frustrated with Kim’s hair, I’m frustrated with Tony’s condition, etc. etc. But I guess getting emotionally involved in a show is a good thing.

Wednesday
Smallville – I’ve enjoyed all the episodes this season so far, with the exception of the totally random retro episode. The most recent episode, Shattered, rocked. The acting was fantastic, there was lots of Clark and Lex (and even Clex!), and the storyline was actually captivating — something I was seriously missing from this show. My heart seriously hurt after seeing Lex at the end. *sob* Can’t wait til January.

The O.C. – *sigh* I adore this show. And I love Seth/Summer even more. Die Anna die! hehe. I’ve been hooked ever since it premiered back in August. It’s just excellent cheeky fun. :D But if TPTB mess with Sandy/Kirsten — %$^#@! There will be hell to pay.

The West Wing – I watched the premiere and that’s it. :( I always forget that the show is on, probably because it’s on at the same time as The O.C. I still *must* purchase the s1 DVDs but the show just doesn’t have the same magic that it did for me in the earlier seasons.

Thursday
Friends – I have to say that I was definitely not a fan of the Joey/Rachel romance so I’m glad that it was over and done with quickly. I adore Monica/Chandler so I’m happy to see them with an ongoing storyline this season. I can’t wait to see Chandler (he’s my favorite friend!) with a baby. Too cute. I’m so going to miss this show next season!

Tru Calling – Saw the premiere and wasn’t compelled to watch any episodes following. My Eliza love can only go so far. I’ve read the FOX ordered 7 more episodes. Wow. I totally didn’t see that coming. I thought cancellation was on the horizon.

CSI – Still rocks. And now there’s Xander Berkeley (Mason from 24)! Though I found Fur and Loathing to be rather strange. Oh, and there just needs to be more Warrick. Thanks.

Friday
Miss Match – This show is sooo cute. I love what I’ve seen but honestly? Friday nights just don’t work for me. I think Kate and Michael are gorgeous together, though, so maybe I should make it a point to record the show so I can see if anything has happened with them. Anyone know?

Sunday
American Dreams – My precious precious show. I am alarmed that NBC has cut this season’s order from 22 to 18. It breaks my heart. I think this show gets better and better each week. I love everyone in the Pryor and Walker families and I hope that NBC realizes that there are many more stories to tell.

Alias – Still a can’t miss show for me but I don’t obsess over the show as much as I once did. My Syd/Vaughn loving heart just can’t take it! lol. But seriously, I still have yet to fully accept the 2 year time jump. I still feel a little cheated. I wanted to see Marshall and Carrie have a relationship! I wanted to see Dixon get promoted! Agghhh… useless resistance, I know.

Phew… even though I dropped a few shows, I still watch a ton of TV. I’m an addict, hehe.

Still feeling sick. Bah. I need to lie down.
