revisiting roswell

Yay for me! I actually remembered that the Roswell reruns started yesterday. 🙂 It’s giving me something to look forward to every day, lol. The only thing that annoys me is that the Sci-Fi channel adds an extra commercial break in the last act. Grr! It’s only because they want to go straight to the next show at the top of the hour — but seriously, it screws with the flow of the episode. Blah to that.

I was really happy to see a new episode of Gilmore Girls but I totally could have done without the Rory/Jess kiss fest in the beginning. It was like 5 entire minutes of kissing! Ok, more like a minute but still. It could have been spent on better things — like more Luke! And Lane! And Lorelai! I did love all the Emily/Lorelai scenes though — “That’ll do pig, that’ll do.” hee.

New episode of Smallville too — though I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it yet. It was one of those episodes that left me saying “What the hell?” First of all, I can’t believe they actually killed off Whitney! *sob* I have to admit that I didn’t really like his character in the beginning of the first season — partly because we never really got to learn anything about him. He was just the stereotypical popular jock. But at the end of the season, I really grew to like him and then the writers shipped him off to nowheresville. And then we get him back only to find out that it’s not really him! Grr. Another thing that really bothered me was the whole Lex/Helen relationship — I didn’t feel a single ounce of chemistry between those two. They were so wooden, it was terrible. And I’m expected to believe that Lex sees a future with this girl? Oo-kay. And what happened to Pete? He got beaten up and we never saw him again. Poor Pete. Things I liked — Clark in a wet T-shirt (yummm), the Chloe/Lana scene and the Clark/Lana ending (and no, I didn’t think they were being selfish — just honest).

Oh! Did anyone see the premiere of that new show on MTV called MADE? It was the episode on the girl wanting to become a cheerleader… aww, it was cute. Or maybe I feel that way because it brought back happy pep squad memories. 🙂

Anyway, new episode of Dawson’s Creek tomorrow — is it just me or do the promos make Joey seem like a crazed stalker girlfriend? 😛

Ooohhh… Michael Rosenbaum on Conan… okay, that interview was waaaayyy too short. He seriously made me giddy though! I loved his pot-smoking grandma story and his Christopher Walken impression — MR is such a cutie. *happy sigh*

dawson’s creek cd’s

LOOK! Click here –> Dawson’s Creek CDs.

I think this is such a fabulous idea — you can customize everything from the songs on the CD to the CD label. Eeee! I have a feeling I’ll have more fun making my own CD than I will listening to it when I get it. And I bet I’ll probably have to make more than one CD to get all the songs I want.

I’ve always loved the music on DC. Sometimes I think they do a better job picking the music than they do writing the show, heh. But really, the songs on the show have so much nostalgic power for me. I love This Year’s Love by David Gray and My Invitation by Sarah Slean partly because of their Pacey and Joey connotations. 🙂

i’m in pain

oh my goodness, I’m in so much pain right now. But it’s the good pain. The kind of pain you feel after a really good workout. Yes, that’s right. I got back a few hours ago from taking a tahitian dance class in San Francisco and AAHHHH, my legs and my hips are sooo sore. A friend of mine from college who lives in Hawaii is here in the Bay Area for the holidays and she really wanted to check out the dance classes here so that’s how I found myself swaying my hips to drum beats for 2 hours. 2 hours! It was pretty intense but so much fun — I’d love to do it again.

Oh, and thanks to Alie for reminding me that I should have posted a link for anyone who wants to read the aforementioned DC spoilers — here it is. The general DC spoiler thread has all the info you need in the very first post. 🙂

help me, i can’t sleep!

Oh dear, it’s 5am and I haven’t gone to bed yet. I tried, I really did — but I couldn’t fall asleep. In my state of unemployment, my sleeping schedule has once again gone haywire. But my long night hasn’t been in vain cause I’ve been reading spoilers — and I happened upon some very exciting news for Dawson’s Creek (what? it’s still my favorite show!). I knew there was some reason why I’m still sticking around after all these years.

Buffy season 3 DVDs today! whee! Now if I only had a job so I could AFFORD them right now. Blah. Speaking of TV shows on DVD, Dawson’s Creek season 1 is coming out on DVD on April 1, which I’m really excited about. Season 1 was classic — the Pacey and Tamara storyline, spunky Joey, and the short-lived romance of Dawson and Jen. *sigh* Such great memories. I just hope they make it through all the seasons. I especially want seasons 3 and 4: the P/Jo years. 🙂

Hmm… can anyone tell me what people want to see in a “girl” or “about me” section of a site? I want to revamp mine but I can’t come up with anything remotely interesting. HELP me!

Now let’s see if I can actually fall asleep.

capeside christmas

Finally! A new episode of Dawson’s Creek. Well, let’s just say it had my emotions flying all over the place. Happy, sad, nostalgic, angry, frustrated — that was me during the episode. I’m just going to write some random comments because, seriously, coherent thoughts escape me

1. I *hated, hated, hated* Joey’s self-involved voiceover at the beginning. That “kiddie” voice that Katie Holmes has been using this season is really grating. She sounds like a 6-year old.

2. I don’t much like Joey and Eddie as a couple but I will say that I thought it was incredibly cute when he surprised her in Capeside with the Christmas tree. Aww. Speaking of Capeside, I really miss it. The show just feels right there — with the docks and the creek shining in the background. ::sigh::

3. I can’t believe Mike Potter’s appearance during Christmas wasn’t made into a bigger storyline — I was expecting a bit more than Joey mentioning it in passing to Audrey. Last year, the writers dropped the ball when they had Joey visit her dad offscreen. I mean, that would have been a big deal for her! It was the first time she would have seen him since she sent him to jail and it took place offscreen. Gah.

4. I didn’t like Mr. Potter’s insinuations that not going to college somehow makes you less of a person. That’s just a wrong lesson to teach.

5. Yay for appearances by Bessie, Bodie, Doug, Gale and Grams! Too bad Doug was the only one who was allowed to talk.

6. I usually like Todd and his insane remarks but his version of grace was just — way out there.

7. I think I’m the only person in the world who actually liked Dawson and Natasha so I’m kinda sad to see her go. I thought she was good for Dawson *because* they weren’t in a committed relationship. They were all fun and barely any angst — which is a novelty on this show. Besides, I actually like Dawson and I don’t want to see him brooding over Joey anymore. Let the boy smile!

8. It was great to see Doug again — oh, how I’ve missed you! But really, what was up with his hair? It was awful, lol. Anyway, I can see both sides to Doug and Pacey’s argument. I think Doug has always shown that underneath the teasing, he really cares about Pacey. So I didn’t see his comments as being critical or judgmental — just honest. He’s concerned that Pacey’s letting money get the better of him. But he lost me when he said that being a chef is somehow noble. I don’t really see why that would better occupation than being a stockbroker.

9. Audrey’s rant — she hit on a lot of interesting points. Dawson and Joey never dealt with the fall out of their impending relationship. But sometimes that’s the way it is — you just have to pick up the pieces by yourself and move on. What else — oh, Dawson and Pacey may not actually have had scenes together this season but I don’t think that these two hate each other. I’d like to believe that they don’t, at least. People grow up and go their separate ways all the time. It’s a matter of circumstance. Lastly, the P/Jo bones they threw in there are really more insulting than anything else. I may be a shipper but I’m not delusional. They really don’t have an effect on me if the two characters don’t even speak a word to each other during the entire episode.

10. Poor Jen. First, Audrey humiliates her at the dinner table and then she snaps at her when she goes to check on the drunken girl. Grr.

11. Kinda liked the D/Jo scene at the end. It said it all — these two are best when they’re friends.

12. I can’t believe Pacey is going to take the heat for Audrey’s drunken mishap. She’ll never learn if she always gets handed the easy way out. Stupid Pacey.

That said, this was probably one of the better episodes this season. ::shakes head:: Ok, rant over. 😛

the song remains the same

Whee! I’m really happy DC is back — I know it’s a craptastic show but I loooove it. 🙂 My thoughts:

Love the new credits — especially since they kept some very important moments in there. Case in point(s) — P/Jo jumping into the water in the teaser from 401, Joey sitting in Pacey’s lap from the s3 credits, Pacey throwing grass at Katie from the s5 credits AND Pacey’s red sweater dance. I would have killed the bastard editors if the red sweater dance had been taken out. I live for the red sweater dance. *ahem*

The writing seemed to be sharper and wittier in just these 2 episodes than in all of season 5. Nice.

New characters:
Professor Hudson is okay so far. The main thing I like about him right now is that he’s not all about loving Joey — that storyline should be left in season 5 along with that evil Professor Wilder. But then again I love Roger Howarth (he’ll always be Todd Manning to me!) so maybe I’m biased. Oh! And he was totally wearing Pacey’s shirt from season 2! Thought that was funny.

I’m not liking Eddie so much. What’s with the perma-scowl? And Oliver Hudson just looks old, like out of place old. Make him go away! But of course not, they’ve already started the love/hate relationship between him and Joey. Gah. Rebound guy anyone?

CJ didn’t really do anything in this episode except establish himself as a potential love interest for Jen. I think they look super cute together. 🙂 And hello! Jensen Ackles is HOT! If I had known he was on Dark Angel, I would have been all over that show. 😛

Lastly, Emma bothered me just a tad. Maybe cause I sensed her attraction to Pacey. And I *so* do not want Pacey hooking up with any more girls. Enough with the ManWhore!Pacey storyline. And great, they’re gonna be roommates. The writers must think they’re so smart.

All in all though, I think they did a great job with the new characters this season — I *loathed* Charlie and Karen from last year. Damn. Sends shivers down my spine.

Finally! Jack is getting some loving! But really, all those boys seemed a bit much. And I have to say, Kerr is looking mighty fine. Yum.

Audrey is ANNOYING! Please. tone. her. down. Like now. I hate her “Pacey, please do whatever I want” voice — it is seriously grating. Love Busy though — her new hairdo is cute.

Can Pacey please break up with Audrey already? I mean, it’s inevitable. There were anvils all over the place. Just get it over with — it’ll save me from rolling my eyes during their scenes. Not sure how I feel about Pacey being a stockbroker. It’s too weird. And Pacey has never been the “corporate America” type. But hell, if it keeps JJ in that suit and tie — so be it.

Jen’s hair has got to go! Don’t like those terribly short bangs on her.
Loved Pacey and Joey’s scene by the jukebox, of course. How cute was it that when Joey said “Bite me,” Pacey really did. *sigh* Also loved the scene in Hell’s Kitchen at the end when Jen, Audrey, Jack and Pacey were talking about D/Jo. I’m glad we finally got a chance to see what they think of the D/Jo saga. Pacey hit it right on the head when he said the D/Jo relationship was “structurally unsound.” I don’t normally like saying this… but WORD.

I was also upset that the 2 couples I don’t like (D/Jo and P/Aud) stole P/Jo moments! First, Audrey says “Nice change of pace, Pace,” which is a blatant ripoff of Joey’s line in 401. Grr. And then! Dawson and Joey do that love knot thing (when they’re holding hands and then she puts his arm around her shoulder) — that was SO P/Jo! Double grrr.

Now to the big D/Jo event — I used to ship them back in season 1 and I could definitely see shades of what made them a great couple back then. Now though, they’re not such a great couple. They have some warped, idealized notion of what the other should be and they will never ever live up to the dream. They just need to get over it and move on. I mean, there comes a point when the pain just isn’t worth it. I hope this is it for Joey — in my mind, Dawson was wrong for not telling her about his girlfriend. Sure they were caught up in the throes of passion but he had to know that this piece of information would make a difference. And I was so yelling at him when they were fighting and he said “Who dumped who four years ago?” Dawson, get over it! Nice how he turned the argument around and made it all Joey’s fault.

Anyway, I’m rambling now and it’s becoming painfully obvious that I obsess about this show way more than is normal, lol. Bye for now.

dc dc dc

Ah, so much good TV — I enjoyed BtVS and all the Spikey goodness. I already love James Marsters so this episode really cemented my fan looove for him. Spike’s ending scene was fantastic — great acting (the hurt, the angst, the confusion — all there) by JM and the dark atmosphere and the crucifixion imagery was really powerful. *sigh* My favorite part was the look that Spike and Xander shared when Nancy asked if anyone there had not slept together. Hee! I have great hope for this season.

As for Smallville — it was another ooohhkay episode. After Vortex, this episode was totally out of place. Granted, it was supposed to take place 3 months after last week’s episode but the timing just seemed jarring. I mean, we went from dealing with natural disaster and potential loss to an episode that was about lust, passion and sex. Loved all the Chloe/Lana scenes (girl power!) though — I’m glad that the writers aren’t going the way of Dawson’s Creek and are actually letting the girls have a real friendship. Next week’s episode looks promising — Pete might be in more than 2 minutes of the episode! Truly shocking.

2 hour season premiere of Dawson’s Creek tomorrow! I’ve got my blank tape ready and waiting, lol. I’m actually looking forward to it despite promos and pictures like this. Agh. What a painful image.

But to celebrate my DC love, I have a new domain — Creek Daze. Yay! There’s still a coming soon image but it will soon house the general DC site for the Dawson’s Creek Network. For now though, it has my very own scan site — Fields of Gold. 🙂 Please visit and let me know what you think!

jimmy rocks my world

Jimmy Fallon is my new boyfriend. I just finished watching the MTV Video Music Awards and I loved when Jimmy was introducing Guns n Roses — he was all giddy and jumping up and down. So cute. 😛 Besides that, the VMA’s were kind of blah. I loved Jimmy’s opening sketch, especially the Enrique parody. Hee. I also enjoyed the performances by Shakira (that girl can shake her booty!), Eminem, and Justin (loved his dancing, hated his song). One thing that stands out in my mind is Christina Aguilera’s voice — when did she develop that accent? Weird. And omg, I can’t believe Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen are that old now. They’re like 17(!), I think. I remember when they couldn’t even talk yet! Seeing them makes me feel so old.

I hate layout blocks. I love Pacey and Joey but I need a change — inspiration, where are you?

Speaking of Pacey and Joey, I found this gem in Joey’s summer diary

“Should I pretend like it doesn’t matter? Should I pretend that the fact that Audrey and Pacey are spending the summer together, sharing the kind of adventures he and I shared aboard the True Love, has no effect on me whatsoever? To the world, yes, that’s what I’ll have to convey. Can’t very well go around harboring some weird resentment of your ex-boyfriend and your roommate just because they happen to have gotten together. What difference does it make to me anyway? It’s not like I want to date Pacey now… we’re way past that. Aren’t we?”

*sigh* Finally some acknowledgement that Pacey and Joey did indeed once date. But it’s too little too late for me.

Anyway, I still have to finish telling everyone about my Hawaii trip. lol. I bet no one’s interested anymore! Oh well, you’ll all have to humor me. 🙂

joey potter

Part II of my trip will probably be up tomorrow — I got caught up in watching old Season 1 episodes of Dawson’s Creek. Hee — I think S1 is tied with S3 for my favorite season. *sigh* I loved Joey back then — she was so feisty and sarcastic. Old Joey, where did you go? 😛

laid back

Urrrgggh, back to work tomorrow. Work is evil.

Anyway, I had a pretty laid back weekend — on Friday, I hung out with my best friends, Carmen and Robyn, at a friend’s house in the city. Everyone was piss drunk (heh) and I found it highly amusing to be the only person who was completely sober. The one thing that kept cracking me up is the way Robyn kept saying “yo” at the end of every sentence — she doesn’t normally talk like that. And geesh, can that girl chug down a beer! I mean, dayum. 😛

I spent a few hours earlier surfing Fan Forum for DC spoilers — hey, at least I can be prepared for any cringe-worthy D/Jo scenes. There are quite a few early season premiere spoilers which made me snicker — it might not be such a bad season after all. 😉
And finally! CTS is thinking about putting out DC DVDs — I definitely want to get my hands on S1, 3 and 4. Go here to vote — DC DVD Survey.
