even more TV comments…
Rob and I just got a “Save the Date” postcard for our friends’ wedding in July. In Hawaii! Squee! I can’t wait to be on vacation… now I just have to get in shape so I can wear a bathing suit. Crap.
Anyway, so much TV to process (spoilers for the past week’s new episodes)…
The OC
I’m totally loving the development in Seth and Summer’s relationship. I think Zach is a great guy and I was just starting to really like him and Summer together. But that flew out the window when Summer saw Seth’s comic drawings of her — I got reeled back in. As for everything else, I’m not too crazy with what’s going on. Alex and Marissa are totally forgettable (what are the writers doing to poor Marissa anyway? I actually like the character and they can’t seem to figure out what the heck to do with her), Ryan and Lindsay are boring me (I’m sorry, I tried), and Kirsten and Sandy are stressing me out (I already have massive hate for this new Rebecca character — get away from Sandy!).
Jack and Bobby
MIKE ERWIN. !!! YaY. I’m so happy to have him back on my TV again. I thought I’d be giving up this show (4 shows on Wednesday nights is overkill) but between Mike and Bradley Cooper, this show will be staying on my schedule for as long as they are. Heh. Plus, I’m liking Courtney tons better now that they’ve paired her up with Mike Erwin. She’s so much more laidback and likable now. Don’t have much to say about the Jack and Missy break-up other than it was inevitable. Thank goodness — Missy’s breathy voice drove me crazy. Still don’t like Grace. Or Bobby. Especially Bobby.
One Tree Hill
Where was Peyton? And Jake? Was it mentioned that they were still picking up Jenny and I missed it? I hope the actors were unavailable for filming because I cannot believe that Brooke’s crazy crab storyline was more important. And I actually *like* Brooke. I don’t know if I can say the same for Haley right now. Her continued correspondence with Chris is so aggravating. GRR. Nathan is right there! And he loves you! And he’s so cute! I can’t believe this episode made me like Taylor more than Haley. I didn’t think it was possible.
Smallville
No Lex until 38 minutes into the episode?! Humph. Well, at least I was treated to a Lex/Jason scene. Hee. And Lois returned! I missed her! This episode was probably one of the better ones in recent memory. I didn’t like Alicia in her previous episodes but I warmed to her in this one (though I still don’t quite *get* her relationship with Clark). Too bad they had to kill her off. I also really liked Chloe discovering Clark’s secret. Allison Mack did a great job at conveying both confusion and shock — I wonder if the writers are going anywhere with this reveal? I kinda thought that Chloe might be more concerned with the fact that Lionel’s out of jail. Anyway, Chris Carmack (welcome to the OC bitch! heh) is on next week! But with horribly long and tangled hair. Huh.

mike erwin spotting
David Anders wasn’t on CSI tonight… but that’s okay because Mike Erwin was! Squee!
Mike Erwin! My Everwood TV boyfriend! *happy sigh* He had a small role but it was very cool to see him again. Especially since I missed him when he recently appeared on Joan of Arcadia.
Another Everwood alum, Kate Mara, was also in this episode — she played Kate Morris in s1. It’s like a fandom reunion!
The episode itself was a bit of a letdown since last week’s was so good. And I was not happy that this Sophie person ate up so much screentime. She’s a day shift CSI! Why’d she take so much time away from everybody else? Like Warrick. He’s barely had any scenes in the last few episodes. Not to mention Sara who wasn’t even in this episode. Humph. CSI already has a great ensemble cast — use them! But I’m guessing there’s more in store for Sophie. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have had as many scenes with Grissom as she did, especially since she’s a DAY SHIFT CSI. I just hope it’s not a potential relationship. *cringes*
As for my other Thursday night addiction… The OC brought more Ryan/Seth shippy scenes. Which is all I really care about, hehe. Well ok, I also care about the Seth/Summer storyline. And as much as I want them to get back together, I have to agree with everything Summer said when she yelled at Seth at the carnival. He doesn’t deserve her — not when he can’t even admit that he did something wrong by leaving.
In non-TV news, I’ve officially started Christmas shopping! Mmm. I just love the holidays.
overdue TV post
A looooong overdue TV blog…
Jack & Bobby
I have one more episode to watch before I finally get caught up with this show but I’m still not feeling it. However, I’m shallow and I keep watching for Matt Long. Heh. Although I wish he’d get some better storylines cause the love triangle with Missy and Courtney isn’t very engaging. Especially since I get the feeling I’m supposed to be rooting for Courtney and I’m not. Missy may be a bit flighty but I like her. Still not caring about Grace. But I’m tolerating her because she has scenes with Bradley Cooper! It’s good to see him on TV again. I just hope their relationship isn’t going anywhere further than teacher-student. Also have no interest in Bobby and Dex and their crazy antics. It’s a wonder that I watch this show when I don’t feel anything for the majority of the characters.
One Tree Hill
What’s with Peyton’s hair this season? I don’t like the curly bangs she has going on. I’m also not crazy about the 2 new cast additions, particularly Felix. He can’t act! Michael Copon’s pretty, but wow, is he a bad actor. It’s very distracting. But not distracting enough for me to miss out on the Brooke/Felix/Mouth storyline. Aww. Mouth loves Brooke! Too bad it’ll never happen. Still loving Nathan and Haley, of course. It’ll be interesting to see if Haley’s music career takes off and how it will affect her marriage. I normally like Peyton and Lucas but so far this season, their storylines have been really disappointing. Maybe it’s because they haven’t really been interacting with other Tree Hill regulars so I don’t care as much? Who knows. Thank goodness there’ll be a girl power slumber party next week. That actually looks like fun.
The OC
Squee, it’s back! You guys have no idea how happy the twinkly theme song made me when I heard it. *warm fuzzies* Ryan&Seth=BestFriends4EVAH!!! Ahem. I just loved when Ryan was walking to the cab and Seth was tapping his foot and then he ran to the door… just in time to find Ryan there as well. Aww. I have to say the beginning of the episode was a little slow for me, because I felt like I was just waiting for the payoff of both Ryan and Seth returning to Newport. And yay for continuity — Chyna and her alopecia, the Chrismukkah photo on the fridge, and Captain Oats. I also enjoyed seeing Luke again! I’m really going to miss him this season.
Quote of the episode:
Summer: “What’s his face? Built like a beanpole, curly hair, runs away like a little bitch on his sailboat leaving nothing but a note for his girlfriend who cried and cried over him until the Fourth of July when she decided she doesn’t cry over bitches on boats.” OMG. LOVE. HER.
CSI
Where has David Anders been? I seriously thought I read an article that said he had a 4-episode arc. ??? Oh well. It was cool seeing him on CSI a few episodes ago even if it was for about a minute. And with his regular accent! Anyway, this past week’s episode What’s Eating Gilbert Grisson? was freaking amazing. I liked that they revisited the Blue Paint Killer that eluded the CSIs in the past. The entire episode was really well done — it was suspenseful and seriously disturbing (especially those drawings). The killer gave me the creeps. *shivers* My only qualm about the episode was the ending. I just can’t believe that Brass and Grissom let the killer go to the bathroom. After that, I knew he was going to kill himself. It would have been interesting if he had actually escaped though. He would have made a nice foil for Grissom and the CSIs for at least a little while longer.
More shows to follow… I have to get ready for bed! Ahhh, sleep…
finales
*sniff* So I just got done finished crying over The O.C. (Seth! Ryan! Noooo!) and now I find myself watching the Friends Dateline special. It’s so depressing! I just can’t *CAN’T* believe Friends will be over tomorrow. I’ve watched the show since the beginning and it makes me sad to think I won’t be able to turn on the TV on Thursday nights at 8pm and laugh at the antics of those six crazy kids. 🙁 Especially Chandler! I lurve him. He’s the greatest — can he *be* any funnier? *sigh* I’m going to miss the show something fierce (tm Pacey).
tv commentary
There’s nothing like drowning yourself in TV to make yourself feel better…
One Tree Hill
Good grief — the pregnant storyline for Brooke?!? Ugh. So lame. They already have Karen and Jake to represent the teenage parents. Way to recycle plotlines, writers. Loved all the Nathan/Peyton interaction which totally surprised me because I didn’t like their relationship in the beginning of the show. I can see now that there was (and is still is) something deeper between them and they genuinely care about the other. I’d probably be open to Nathan/Peyton redux. Maybe. I’m also warming up to Hilarie Burton. She just seems more relaxed and comfortable where before she struck me as kind of stiff and awkward. Haley, Haley, Haley — I was so disappointed in the tattoo. It felt very out of character for me. I hope she doesn’t get hurt though. I adore her. And am I the only OTH fan who prefers Karen/Larry to Karen/Keith?
American Idol
No more voting for me, I think. I only like George and Jasmine at this point but tonight they were pretty… meh. Such horrible, horrible song choices. I don’t want either of them to go but they gave me no motivation to pick up the phone and actually vote. LaToya and Jennifer totally “wow-ed” me — they have such beautiful, strong voices — but for some reason, I can’t connect or relate to them in any way. *shrugs* Don’t particularly care for Fantasia or the two Jo(h)ns either. My track record hasn’t been very good but I’m going to predict that Diana’s going to get the boot tomorrow night.
The O.C.
LUKE! NO!!! *sniff* I can’t believe he’s moving to Portland. 🙁 I really liked his goodbye scene with Ryan — “Welcome to Portland, bitch!” I hope this move isn’t permanent. I thought Luke was a great character and I’m sure the writers could think up some great storylines for him next season. I’m keeping my fingers crossed! Still loving Seth/Summer. Their banter (tm Pacey and Joey) rocks. OMGtheyareSOcute! Especially during their yearbook scene. *sigh* Summer broke my heart when she said “Was I really mean to you?” Aww. Also? I don’t like Caleb. I may not be the biggest Marissa fan but blackmailing her was so wrong.
Apprentice tomorrow — GO KWAME!
the LA on the OC
So my American Idol predictions were a *little* off. 2 out of 3 isn’t bad, right? 😉 I didn’t particularly enjoy Matt so I can’t say I’m sad he’s gone. I just hope that the contestants improve next week — I don’t think I can take any more subpar performances.
Anyway, I don’t know if I was just blinded because I missed the show but I totally enjoyed tonight’s episode of The O.C.. Not much depth but still a lot of fun. And it’s cool to see that the show has no qualms about making fun of itself. I loved all the references to The Valley, the Seth/Summer jealousy (aww, they’re so cute!) and all the Sandy/Jimmy restaurant stuff. The only thing that marred the episode for me was the return of Hailey. Blah.
Some of my favorite quotes…
Sandy: “You’re really not so good at managing the money, huh Coop?”
Kirsten: “I knew you didn’t go to the IMAX.”
Marissa: “Okay, you’re starting to sound like Seth.”
Ryan: “Yeah, he’s rubbing off on me.”
Ryan: “How does he play high school?”
Seth: “Its Hollywood, man.”
Paris Hilton: “Orange County? Ew!”
Summer: “She said Ew!”
Grady: “Why? I’m not in this scene.”
Seth: “I heard some really, really awful music and I knew it could only be self-indulgent actors with instruments.”
Seth: “Or you could be the Bitch.”
Summer: “All right, I’ll take the Boobs.”
Seth: “So will I.”
And my MOST favorite quote…
Summer: “He saved Middle Earth. It’s, like, the most important part of European history.” HEE!
I can’t decide if next week’s episode looks good or bad. Huh.
in n out on the OC
Watched The O.C. tonight and…
Seth and Summer were eating IN N OUT!!! YUM. I love IN N OUT. So good. They totally had me craving a cheesburger… and fries… and a strawberry shake… Mmm.
Some random thoughts on the rest of the episode…
— Julie/Luke
The thought of this relationship squicks me out. BUT the execution (so far) has been hilarious. I mean, Luke offering to fix Julie’s DSL?!? BWAH! Gotta love the double meaning.
— Ryan/Theresa/Marissa
I knew that having Theresa around was too good to be true so I tried not get invested in her relationship with Ryan. But geesh! All their interaction in this episode was so great — the uncertainty, the tension, the happiness, the morning after glow! Then the writers just rip her away. I wish they wouldn’t rush storylines, especially one that might have given us more insight on Chino Ryan. Blah. Now it’s back to Ryan/Marissa. I like them just fine but I think that horrible Oliver storyline really scarred them. It’s so hard to be supportive of Marissa after that whole debacle.
— Kirsten/Sandy
“If anyone’s going to take you away in handcuffs, it’s gonna be me.” (Or something like that — I’m paraphrasing). Hee! I barely paid attention to the whole case against the Newport Group but whatever — Sandy will do anything for Kirsten! *sigh* They rock. They’re my most favorite couple on this show. (Well, they’re tied with Ryan/Seth…)
— Seth/Anna
“Confidence, Cohen.” Aww. For once, I actually really liked Anna. I thought her airport goodbye scene with Seth was so sweet. I’ve never been impressed by Samaire’s acting but she really rocked this scene. It really felt like watching two friends who were scared to let the other go.
Other quotes I liked…
Summer: “Kidding! I’m not that dumb, just shallow.”
Seth: “In vino veritas, know what I mean?”
Ryan: “Hardly ever.”
Anna: “Goodbye Blanche.”
Summer: “See ya Rose.”
Seth: “80 is the new 75!”
Seth” “What is up with the AC? My jewfro is frizzing out, I look like Screech!”
Seth: “I don’t know. Discovering fire? Hunting and gathering? Shaving his chest with a butter knife? You could always do that together…”
Ryan: “I do do that…”
Guh. I can’t believe it’s 3 weeks until the next new episode. There’s like absolutely no new TV for me to watch in the next month. What to do, what to do? 😀
Also, is it just me or was it like the millionth time someone tried to kill Lana on Smallville? Good grief.
ER and parminder
What in the world was that army tank storyline about on ER?!? So bizarre. I was totally rolling my eyes.
Now, I haven’t watched ER in *years* but when I found out Parminder Nagra (aka Jess on Bend It Like Beckham — my new favorite movie :P) was on the show, I had to start watching it again. It’s that crazy BiLB obsession of mine. Heh.
Friends! There were some great laugh out loud moments tonight — loved that Chandler and Monica have a “Joey room” in their new house and it was a great nod to continuity to have Ross jealous of Rachel having dinner with Mark. BUT! Rachel! She can’t take the Louis Vuitton job! Argh, it’s getting harder and harder to stay spoiler-free for the series finale.
Anyway, I knew there was a reason why I love my alma mater so much. Boalt law school has an official club for The O.C.. They’re setting up a Sandy Cohen Fellowship! OMG. Those crazy law students crack me up.

i hate the rain
Rain is evil. *shakes fist at rain* So this morning I wake up to absolutely miserable weather. The rain is insane! It’s pouring like crazy and the wind is so strong. Ugh. There’s seriously nothing worse than taking public transportation into San Francisco on a rainy day. When I get into the city, I figure that since my office is only 2 blocks away from the train station I should be okay since I’ve got my trusty Winnie the Pooh umbrella and my big puffy waterproof jacket to keep my safe. Uh, no. By the time I get to my building, I am SOAKED. Evil, evil rain. Luckily I am a paranoid freak and I keep an extra pair of pants at work so I can change and not have to spend the rest of the day all wet. I so hope it doesn’t rain like that tomorrow. I can’t take it.
So yeah. That was my day.
Quick TV commentary:
YAY for Colin on Everwood!!! I have missed him SO much. Not at all crazy about the hair (Cut it off!) but it was so, so great to see Mike Erwin again. Heisohsocute. 🙂 I’ve heard that he’s working on a pilot for next season. I don’t really care what the show is — I would just LOVE to see him on TV regularly again. I’m crossing my fingers that it gets picked up. 😉
Loved Seth and Summer onThe OC. Their kissing booth scene? So cute. Didn’t much care about the Ryan/Marissa/Theresa (or is it Teresa?) triangle. But I loved the whole uncomfortable dinner table scene — so much like Seth and his situation with Anna and Summer. Hee.
Finally, Sex and the City (don’t read if you don’t want to know about the finale)…
