HAPPY BIRTHDAY Alie!

The new fall TV season is right around the corner and I am GOING TO FINISH LAST SEASON’S WRAP-UP if it kills me.

Beware spoilers…

Lost
I don’t really remember much leading up to the season finale. OOPS. I do know that the second half of the season was *far* better than the first. As far as the finale, I vaguely remember the following:
– I liked Jack again. Mostly because he was crazy and suicidal.
– Hurley attacking the Others with the bus. That rocked.
– Future Kate is *gorgeous.*
– Jack and Juliet’s kiss bugged the heck out of me. *twitches* DO. NOT. BELONG. TOGETHER.
– It took Charlie’s death to make me like him. For probably the first time ever. I’m (surprisingly) going to miss the guy.
I have no idea where all the storylines are going but I’m actually enjoying the show again. YAY.

Smallville
I used to be a huge Clark/Lana fan but at this point, their relationship is just silly. How many times are they going to be ripped apart and then thrown back together again?! UGH. The finale was pretty forgettable except for the fact that Lana’s car was blown up (is she dead or not?!?) and Chloe’s power was revealed (is she dead or not?!?). Oh, and I guess the Phantom Zoner took a piece of Clark’s DNA and is now masquerading around with his likeness. Good times.

Supernatural
One word: Awesome. Dean sacrificing himself to bring Sam back. Ellen and Bobby kicking ass. Dean shooting the demon with some help from Dad… I thought the finale brought a satisfying end to the demon storyline. But I’m totally anxious about the set up of next season’s arc. *bites fingernails* You know, I rarely blog about this show but GAWD, it’s so good and I love the Winchesters to pieces.

HUH. I just realized that I never watched the season finales for Ugly Betty, Grey’s Anatomy, Brothers and Sisters, and One Tree Hill so I guess I’m actually done with my TV reviews for now. Maybe I’ll get around to it in the future but knowing me, I won’t. I’ll probably just read the recaps on Television Without Pity and call it a day.

Next up: I’m going to plan my TV schedule for the season. I intend on scaling it WAY back. I tried to keep up with too many shows last season and as you can see, that totally flopped. :P

I just finished watching High School Musical 2.

I know, I know. BUT I LOVE IT, OK?

Lucas Grabeel as Ryan totally made the movie for me. Actually, both he and Ashley Tisdale as Sharpay were awesome. And I have to admit that yes, I still loved Troy and Gabriella (Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, respectively) even though their storyline pretty much sucked. But they finally kissed! So that’s some consolation, hehe.

(I can hear you all laughing… don’t laugh!)

Now excuse me while I go download the soundtrack from iTunes. :D

the hills premiere

It’s Rob’s birthday today. So he wasn’t too happy when I hijacked the TV and watched The Hills premiere. HEE.

I’m so addicted to this show. I CAN’T HELP IT. It’s a total guilty pleasure. Such drama… Lauren versus Heidi! (I’m so Team Lauren, by the way). Lauren doesn’t like Audrina’s new boy! Spencer proposes to Heidi! I love my show. :P

OMG. I’m currently watching Victoria Beckham Coming to America and I don’t know why, but it is *seriously* the funniest reality show I’ve seen in a LONG time. Mostly because Victoria Beckham is a lot more sarcastic than I would have thought. Which makes her totally likable to me. Plus, her husband’s not too shabby himself. Hee!

I haven’t really been in the blogging mood lately. Work has been grueling (nothing new there), wedding planning has invaded my life (I’ll have to blog about some frustrations another time), and Diesel has completely messed with my sleeping schedule (he has decided to be our personal alarm clock every morning). UGH.

Anyway, I want to keep my TV wrap-up going so here goes…

Tuesday shows! Beware spoilers…

Gilmore Girls
I have to admit that I was a little upset with the show when Rory and Logan broke up in the penultimate episode. I know Logan wasn’t the best boyfriend but I really grew to love his character. So I was bummed even though I know it was probably the right decision for both of them. :( As for the finale, I thought it was pretty darn perfect. YES, I cried. It felt a *bit* rushed but I still thought it was such a beautiful ending for this show to have Lorelai and Rory at Luke’s Diner — exactly the way the show started. And I absolutely loved seeing all the Stars Hollow townspeople gathered together at Rory’s party. Though the show’s about the girls, it was nice to have a chance to say “Bye” to them as well.

Veronica Mars
The finale left me feeling really… incomplete. Maybe even a little depressed. I mean, the last shot of her walking in the rain after voting for her dad was pretty brutal. I adore this show (even though I may complain and gripe about it once in awhile) and I’m actually really sad to see it go. :( Veronica may have been a bit out-of-character this season (at least to me) but I still loved her and I’m going to miss her spunkiness. With that said, I enjoyed the finale (even though it didn’t really pack the same punch as the season 1 finale) and I’m glad everyone had their part, particularly Weevil and Wallace. :D

In other non-TV news, I saw the movie Knocked Up today. HILARIOUS… except for the last few moments of the movie. That just made me nauseous. (If you’ve seen the movie, you know EXACTLY what I’m talking about). Highly recommended.

Hmmm… I told myself I was going to re-read all my Harry Potter books before the last one is released. But I haven’t started yet. Oops.

Anyway, it’s been awhile since I’ve blogged about TV so I thought I’d get started with a TV wrap-up for the season.

Up first: Monday shows! Beware spoilers…

*yawn* This season was a huge disappointment. So much potential but not enough follow through… like what happened to President Logan? His ex-wife stabbed him and we don’t find out what happened to either of them. Or to Aaron. Now that I think about it they never explained what happened with Walid or to President Palmer. But anyway, I didn’t care for this season because of the introduction of the Bauer family and their antics. I mean, why introduce Philip and Graham now? And Marilyn and Josh? I didn’t care about them at all. Not to mention the fact that the whole storyline completely felt like the writers were just making it up as they went along. UGH. I did enjoy the finale, though, because I got to see Buchanan and Jack working together again. YAY! The last shot was depressing, however. *hugs Jack* I hope next season is an improvement.

Heroes
Not much to say except that this is a *great* show. I love that the finale settled the first “chapter.” I just hope that Peter, Nathan, and Matt are okay. :( I haven’t read spoilers in ages (for any show) so I have no idea if it’s been revealed that they’ll be back. I hope so. Anyway, is Sylar dead? Because it didn’t seem like it. But then again, none of the other heroes seemed to be too concerned that his body was NO LONGER ANYWHERE TO BE FOUND. That confused me. :/ My favorite part of the finale, though, was seeing Molly and Micah interact. Usually I don’t like child actors (cause they’re rarely good actors) but these 2 are awesome. :D

I’m actually home sick today (I think I ate some bad sushi last night) so I decided to catch up on the 2 most recent episodes of Studio 60. Before it went on hiatus, I was a little bored with the show but watched it because there was nothing on TV at 10pm on Monday nights. I didn’t even miss it while it was off the air these past few months. I forgot I had set it for a season pass on my Tivo so I was pleasantly surprised to find 2 episodes waiting for me. I was even *more* surprised to find that I really, really enjoyed them both! If the remaining episodes are as good, I’ll be sad to see the show go.

I am never going to replace the water container at work again. The freaking thing is 5 gallons and it took me 3 tries to heave the thing onto the cooler. And I spilled some water on the floor. UGH. I am so weak. I so need to start lifting weights or something. Except I probably won’t.

On an even more random note… I had a vendor come in to meet our team at work yesterday. He flew up to see us from LA and he brought Sprinkles cupcakes as a treat. Apparently it’s some really popular cupcake shop in Beverly Hills. YUM-O. I had a piece of 3 — coconut, chocolate, and the red velvet (my *favorite*). There’s no real reason why I’m blogging about it other than the fact that I can’t stop thinking about those little cakes from heaven. Mmmm. (Carmen/Robyn, one day I totally want to come and visit and have a foodie weekend. :D )

So moving to TV, I have to post the season finale schedule for my reference…

Ok seriously? The Friday Night Lights finale was freaking AWESOME. It was perfect to me. I loved it all… from the Panthers walking into the stadium, the Taylors’ balcony scene (GUH), Landry’s caravan, and yes, even Lyla and Tyra. It’s silly to be so giddy over a TV show but I totally am. *squishes show*

I’m crossing my fingers for a second season. (Does anyone know anything official about this?)

Ok, off to watch the finale again… and again…

tudors + entourage

So I’ve watched the first 2 episodes of The Tudors and I like it. And yes, it’s probably 99% because of the eye candy, ie. Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Henry Cavill (*drool*) and Callum Blue. :D

I don’t remember much about Henry VIII’s reign (besides the fact that he had 6? wives) so that’s another reason why I’m enjoying the show. It’s probably completely historically inaccurate and I just don’t know any better. That’s really sad, isn’t it? I mean, I took European History in high school! I’m also reading The Other Boleyn Girl (a historical novel about Mary Boleyn and her life in Henry VIII’s court) so I think the truth and the fiction are getting all jumbled together for me. Anyway, I’m enjoying the show, which is nice since it seems like all the other shows I watch are on hiatus. (This is why I’ve had to resort to watching Dancing with the Stars and that Pussycat Dolls show lately).

Oh, and can I just say that I LOVED the return of Entourage?

Some random TV comments:

Rob likes watching that Pussycat Dolls: Search for the Next Doll show on the CW. I don’t understand why. They’re all terrible. They make me cringe when they sing. :/ I can’t believe this show is keeping Veronica Mars and One Tree Hill off the air. Grrr.

So The Black Donnellys is cancelled. I have about 4 or 5 episodes saved on the Tivo (I never got past the pilot) — any TBD fans out there think I should go ahead and watch them? It looks like the remaining episodes are going to be streamed on NBC.com so at least the show will get some closure. I just wish NBC.com’s media player wasn’t so… SUCKY.

We had Dancing with the Stars on last night (I guess it was the results show) and I happened to catch Joey Fatone’s encore performance of the tango. OMG. It was the cheesiest thing EVER. Seriously. He and his partner did a Star Wars-themed tango. YES, REALLY. Joey was dressed as Anakin (or Obi-Wan, not quite sure) complete with braid down his back and his partner was dressed as Princess Leia. AND he had a lightsaber as a prop. WOW. That was classic. I love Joey. I didn’t realize that Apolo Anton Ohno and Ian Ziering were also on the show this season (maybe I did and forgot, I’ve been in a total work haze lately). I may have to start watching. :D
