being short is evil

Being short is evil. All I want to do is buy some capri pants for spring/summer and they’re all too long! They reach that point right below my ankles where they just look so silly. I really really hate having pants hemmed all the time. Gah.

I missed the premiere of Wonderfalls last Friday. Seriously, Fridays are such bad TV days for me! I’m currently downloading it now (hehe) and I’m crossing my fingers that it’s worth it. Cause you know, I need another TV show to watch, hehe.

Saw Starsky and Hutch on Friday — SO funny! Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson are such a great comedic team. I was laughing practically throughout the entire movie. Two thumbs up! 😀

Friday Five

1. What was the last song you heard?
Maroons 5’s This Love (like this song but I *always* hear it on the radio, MTV)

2. What were the last two movies you saw?
Starsky and Hutch (omg, hilarious!) and Cheaper By the Dozen (Tom Welling *swoon*)

3. What were the last three things you purchased?
fun dangly earrings from Express, eyeshadow from MAC, and a Pepsi from the convenience store near my apartment

4. What four things do you need to do this weekend?
laundry (blah), take clothing donations to Goodwill, scan Britney tourbook, update sites

5. Who are the last five people you talked to?
Rob (boyfriend), Jimmy (roommate)… and I guess 3 random cashiers at the mall? Hee.

Yay Ben Affleck and N.E.R.D. on SNL! 🙂

so so hot

Ugh, it’s so hot. So hot that it’s making me extremely lazy. I actually had a lot of time after work today to work on my sites but did I? Nope. I have absolutely no motivation to update my sites lately and I feel like closing some of them. Maybe.

Plus the heat is making my hair all frizzy. I hate that.

Anyway, whenever I’m in a funk, I go shopping. Retail therapy rocks. I bought a pink Coach bag and some cute bras and things at Victoria’s Secret. I was also looking for a pair of jeans suitable for work but I got frustrated and gave up. My short, curvy body just doesn’t look right in jeans made for tall, skinny people. Guh. Also saw this adorable wallet at the Paul Frank store. I almost bought it but I don’t *need* it. But really, when has that ever stopped me? Hee.

Doing the Friday Five:

What was…
1. …your first grade teacher’s name? Rosalie. I think. Or was that her last name? Well, we called her Miss Rosalie. That has to be her first name. Ugh, I have such a bad memory.

2. …your favorite Saturday morning cartoon? It’s a three-way tie between Smurfs, Jem and Beverly Hills Teens. Huh. Were any of those actually on Saturday mornings? I really have a bad memory.

3. …the name of your very first best friend? Robyn. And she’s still my friend to this day! 🙂

4. …your favorite breakfast cereal? Corn Pops

5. …your favorite thing to do after school? *sniff* Don’t remind me that I’m old! I’m not in school anymore. When I was in school, I usually ended up in front of the TV watching Oprah or catching the tail end of my favorite soaps.

Britney Spears concert tomorrow! YAY!

top 10 TV seasons

Because I’m a sucker for TV meme-things — Desert Island TV (stolen from Nicola)…

The Top Ten TV seasons I would bring with me and the first episode I would watch…
1. Dawson’s Creek, Season 3 — True Love (PaceyandJoey4eva!!!)
2. Everwood, Season 1 — We Hold These Truths (happy Colin *sniff*)
3. Sex and the City — will watch any episode from Seasons 1 through 3 (girl talk and fashion, natch)
4. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Season 2 — Surprise/Innocence (LOVE the Buffy/Angel arc)
5. Alias, Season 1 — Almost Thirty Years (purely because the cast commentary for this episode is HILARIOUS)
6. Friends, Season 6 — The One with the Proposal (I love Monica and Chandler — the proposal makes me so giddy, hee!)
7. Roswell, Season 1 — Heat Wave (such a sucker for cute couples)
8. The O.C., Season 1 — Pilot (outsider Ryan rocks)
9. Beverly Hills, 90210, Season 3 — Commencement (this episode never fails to make me laugh with all the great clips from prior episodes)
10. Smallville, Season 3 — Shattered (painful but amazing episode)

Eeee!!! Colin Firth is hosting Saturday Night Live! Guh.

ER and parminder

What in the world was that army tank storyline about on ER?!? So bizarre. I was totally rolling my eyes.

Now, I haven’t watched ER in *years* but when I found out Parminder Nagra (aka Jess on Bend It Like Beckham — my new favorite movie :P) was on the show, I had to start watching it again. It’s that crazy BiLB obsession of mine. Heh.

Friends! There were some great laugh out loud moments tonight — loved that Chandler and Monica have a “Joey room” in their new house and it was a great nod to continuity to have Ross jealous of Rachel having dinner with Mark. BUT! Rachel! She can’t take the Louis Vuitton job! Argh, it’s getting harder and harder to stay spoiler-free for the series finale.

Anyway, I knew there was a reason why I love my alma mater so much. Boalt law school has an official club for The O.C.. They’re setting up a Sandy Cohen Fellowship! OMG. Those crazy law students crack me up.

Doing the Tuesday Threesome (better late than never):

Female Television Characters
Jen Lindley (DC), Sydney Bristow (Alias), Amy Abbott (Everwood)

Male Television Characters
Pacey Witter (DC), Lex Luthor (Smallville), Chandler (Friends)

Television Couples
Pacey & Joey (DC), Colin & Amy (Everwood), and a tie between Nathan & Haley (OTH) and Chandler & Monica (Friends)

last time…

I don’t want my blog to feel abandoned so…

The Friday Five

When was the last time you…
1. …went to the doctor?
Umm… well, I went to the optometrist last Monday for a regular eye exam. Does that count? I haven’t been to a regular doctor for a physical in a loooong time. I really should make an appointment.

2. …went to the dentist?
About a year ago? I really need to do this too. My “To Do” list just keeps getting longer and longer…

3. …filled your gas tank?
Heh. I don’t drive. Enough said.

4. …got enough sleep?
Maybe last Friday? I “catch up” on sleep on the weekends. Hehe. Actually, I tend to get too much sleep on the weekends. As if there is such a thing.

5. …backed up your computer?
I haven’t done that with this laptop, though I almost did a few months back when I thought I was going to have to reformat my hard drive. I guess I probably should. Just in case.

Wow. Now wasn’t that exciting? 😉 Off to watch more Roswell

BiLB caps

LOL. I know I said no more Jonathan Rhys-Meyers or BiLB talk but since people are asking for caps…

I finished capping all the Joe (JRM) scenes and all the Joe/Jess (I’m a shipper!) scenes. Are there any other scenes you guys would like? Let me know. I’ll upload everything this weekend. 🙂

The Friday Five

You have just won one million dollars:
1. Who do you call first?

I’d probably call my boyfriend Rob.

2. What is the first thing you buy for yourself?
Err… as much as I’d probably like to just go on a huge shopping spree, I suppose I would buy a house. A really big one with a garden.

3. What is the first thing you buy for someone else?
The first person I would buy something for would be my dad. But he doesn’t really “need” anything that I can think of. Maybe a new car? Or maybe set him up with a vacation to Australia? He’s always wanted to go there.

4. Do you give any away? If yes, to whom?
I would donate some money to the Children’s Hospital where my mom used to work.

5. Do you invest any? If so, how?
I’m not savvy with finances at all. I wouldn’t even know where to begin investing my money. I’d leave that up to Rob, I guess. Or I could hire someone to take care of it. Heh.

sick… again

I’m sick. Again.

So I’m doing The Friday Five to blog without *really* blogging… 🙂

At this moment, what is your favorite…

1. …song?
Britney Spears’s Toxic. Really.

2. …food?
spaghetti/fettucine-like dishes. I love pasta.

3. …tv show?
One Tree Hill

4. …scent?
Bath and Body Works’s Country Apple. Heaven. YUM.

5. …quote?
“Having done what we just did, did we commit spermicide?” — Dr. Brown from the Everwood episode Family Dynamics

Off to medicate myself…

back to the daily grind

So it’s my first day back to work and I’m there until 8pm. !!! DIE DIE DIE. I’m still jet-lagged and all I wanted to do was go home and rest and watch 24. Is this too much to ask?

Anyway, I’m trying to catch up on all the pop culture gossip/TV spoilers/fandom fun that happened while I’ve been gone and WOW… lots of stuff. Little Miss Joey Potter (Katie Holmes) has gotten herself engaged. Aww. Don’t really have much of an opinion on Chris Klein but I think they make an adorable couple. Both beautiful and all that. And hee! I have to admit, I’m a huge fan of Britney Spears but seriously, what is wrong with her?!? Getting married? And it was a practical joke? Eeep.

Speaking of Britney, Rob and I are *pissed* that we didn’t get tickets to her upcoming tour. We both thought the tickets were going to be sold a bit later than they were so we missed it! Grrr. I was really looking forward to it. 😀

A little 2003 survey that I thieved from Christie:

FIVE GOOD THINGS THAT HAPPENED IN 2003
1. Pacey and Joey forever! (Hehe… I obviously have my priorities straight.)
2. I finally landed a job that actually matches my career goals.

4. I visited Thailand. LOVED it. Would love to go back.
5. I found a new couple to ship — Nathan and Haley from One Tree Hill.

3. Everwood
4. Smallville
5. The O.C.

FIVE THINGS I’M ASHAMED TO HAVE BECOME ADDICTED TO IN 2003

Hmm… I still have to take down the Christmas tree. I’m so lazy. *g*

yay! new pacey and joey layout

Yay! Pacey and Joey. I love Pacey and Joey. 😀

Finally a new layout. I have been itching to do something new around here but I have been so busy (read: extremely lazy). Heh. At first, I wanted to do more of a holiday layout — I was so close to scanning one of my holiday cards (an adorable snowman) to use but then I started digging around all the pictures I have saved on my hard drive and I came across this one. I *love love love* this picture of Pacey and Joey (it’s the picture that Dawson gave Joey for Christmas in season 4’s Self-Reliance) and it is a bit Christmas-y so… yeah.

Now I just need the inspiration to work on my other sites…

Doing the Seven on Sunday:

1. A song by a new favorite – Why Can’t I Breathe by Liz Phair
2. A song by an old favorite – Push by Matchbox 20
3. An oldie but goodie – Kokomo by The Beach Boys
4. A shamelessly admitted favorite – Where is the Love by The Black Eyed Peas
5. A sheepishly admitted favorite – Crazy in Love by Beyonce
6. A cover worthy of it’s original version – Have a Little Faith in Me by Mandy Moore
7. A holiday favorite – Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays by N Sync (Hey! No laughing! :P)

Work tomorrow. Don’t make me go! *sigh*

fannish five

Phew. Crisis averted. I don’t have to reformat my hard drive. My boyfriend managed to fix it! Some weird spywarecrap was hijacking the home page on my Internet Explorer and wouldn’t open pop ups or new windows. It was so annoying. I’m still not sure what he did to fix it — all I know is that I came home from work and it was functioning properly again. Yay for boyfriends who are all technical and cool and can fix things. 😀

A couple of fandom memes that I stole from various live journals

Dawson’s Creek (My One True Fandom *sigh*)
One True Pairing Ship: Pacey and Joey. They make me ohsohappy.
Canon Ship: Pacey and Joey, Dawson and Jen
“If this happen(ed) I would have stabbed my eyes out with a spork” ‘Ship: Dawson and Andie. Two of my least favorite characters. *snooze*
“You are one sick bastard” ‘Ship: Pacey and Gale (or is it Gail?). hehe.
“I dabble a little” ‘Ship: Pacey and Jen. Two of the best characters EVER.
“It’s like a car crash” ‘Ship: Dawson and Joey. These two crazy kids just never got their act together at the same time. I even liked them way back when.
“Tickled my fancy but not sold quite yet” ‘Ship: Pacey and Andie. Cute relationship but Andie got on my nerves most of the time so I couldn’t bring myself to fully invest in them.
“Makes no canon sense but why the hell not” ‘Ship: Jack and Joey. Yes, I know he’s gay. That’s why it makes no sense! I guess I just think that Katie and Kerr look good together… that whole brunette/brunette thing.
“Everyone else loves it but I just don’t feel it” ‘Ship: Dawson and Joey
“When all is said and done” ‘Ship: Pacey and Joey. 4eva! *g*

Another fandom meme… (can you tell I’m bored?) 😉

How many and which of your fandoms do you own on DVD? I have Dawson’s Creek, Alias, Felicity, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, 24, Friends, Sex and the City, and Smallville. I’m pretty addicted to TV DVDs.

If you had tapes, did you toss them when you got the DVDs? Yup. They just took up too much room in my small, crowded apartment. I think I may have saved 1 or 2 to record other random stuff on.

What are your favorite extras (commentary tracks, behind-the-scenes featurettes, bloopers, foreign language dub, interviews with cast, etc.)? Love love love bloopers! So funny. Sadly, I think only my Alias DVDs have bloopers. It should be mandatory to have bloopers on a TV box set. Humph. I also really enjoy cast commentaries (it’s cute to listen to them ramble) and behind the scenes stuff. I think my favorite TV DVDs are the Alias ones — they have lost of great extras that fans really appreciate. I wish the people producing the Dawson’s Creek DVDs would take a hint. Those sets have barely any extras. Grr.

What do you view first: the episodes, commentary, extras? I always watch the extra stuff first. Then I’ll watch the episodes in order.

What fandoms on DVD do you not yet own or are not out yet? Hmmm… I’ve been meaning to pick up The West Wing and CSI but money will not allow at this time. 😛 I’m eagerly awaiting Roswell to get released in February. And I’m hoping that DVDs will be produced for Gilmore Girls, Everwood and The O.C. Fun fun.
